I reached for Altenew's gorgeous Rock Trumpet flowers for Color Hues #84 and Cindy's wonderful Spring-y colors:
I'm sure you're seeing far more of these colors where you live, Cindy!
But I only need a little imagination, and a few good inks to get me there!
This is a HUGE image! After stenciling it, I die cut it out and arranged the large piece over one card base...
Then used my paper cutter to snip off the excess...
which easily found a home on a second card - and I hadn't used
Dad's hammer for a little texture in SO long!
I use a mouse pad under the folder and a light touch to eliminate the risk of damage.
Here is the card I chose for Color Hues #84 today...
But fear not - the other will be shared at Can you Handle the Pressure?
Even without the 'twist' I think they'll get a kick out of the 'hammer method'
of using an embossing folder!

What a beautiful, large image and your stenciled coloring is gorgeous! You got not one but two fantastic cards from this one image! The hammered embossing is a perfect backdrop for the beautiful flowers!
These colors speak "flowers" to me! I love your innovation for using the rest of that large stenciled image. Two pretty cards from one! Your Dad's hammer gave you such a soft texture in the background. It's just right!
Phew! I was worried about that little extra flower... so glad it made it onto a card of it's own lol. These are both beautiful Michele, I've been playing with a bit of peach and green... but it's a little too early to share yet (wink)

I've never thought to use a hammer, but the effect is wonderful! Love both the cards, but the CAS one is my fave. It's always great to see you in the Color Hues gallery!

Both cards are absolutely beautiful and how creative to get your embossing using a hammer, if I tried that I would probably end up with a smashed folder lol! I'm ready for some warmer Michigan weather, how about you? But they say it is to be 70 here on Monday, I'll take it!!

Beautiful twofer using this large image, Michele. The colours are gorgeous with the trumpet flowers. I LOVE the hammer embossing on your second card. I hadn't seen that before. I have a little hammer in my studio that my father-in-law made (he was a machinist). I'm going to have to pull it out and try hammer embossing --- it's so cool! xx
