CAS[E] this Sketch #315

Do you think I had any fun at all with this week's Sketch?  lol

After seeing CTS #315, it was clear that I had to play cards with one of the many beautiful butterflies I have at my disposal... thanks, N@!

First up, a very old MFT set that still makes my heart flutter!  and the impression of the bold band in the Sketch using an old Cuttlebug embossing strip!

THEN, while searching for those butterfly dies, I came across another oldie-but-goodie die, and this happened:

Well that surely is a fun stand in, right?  It will be sent off to a very brave friend across the pond who deserves support for her battle with breast cancer.

I'm wondering if the entire team used a butterfly [or pretty stand-in for her!] … let's go see!

Inspired By #65 ... windows

Laurel has chosen such a handsome photo inspiration for us this week … I've interpreted it quite literally...

Inside:
"I wish we could each look out our own window,
                     and see the same scene!"

The Ton's Vogue Skies provided the view out of my
Mama Elephant window from a very well loved
Peek a Frame die set.

We look forward to what you'll create using Inspired by #65!

Second Helpings of Time Out Celebration

You know, if one piece of cake is good, a second helping is better, right?  Same goes with Time Out's 5th birthday celebration!

Shery's Framed Tulips just had to be purple today - congratulations, Sandie! xxoo

Off to have a few more loads of fun!

Time Out #131 celebrating 5 years!

I'm here to celebrate Time Out's 5th birthday today!  They are such a fun challenge, and their Design Team is so inspiring... how could I NOT celebrate them?

I'm so looking forward to Spring … and to having the Butterflies return!  It's a bit early yet - so there's only one way to pass the time... stamp a few of my own!  Shirley's wonderful Winged Things fit the bill beautifully ... add a Cutploration's Bloomtangled garden and, voila!

Congratulations to Sandie, and the entire Time Out team!!

CAS[E] this Sketch #314

It seems our sweet leader has ice cream on her mind...
CAS[E] #314 in point:

Well. that's what I see - go ahead tip your head to the left … see it?   However, I have a different card in mind - one for the coming Easter Season. I've turned and flipped our Sketch - it's allowed, you know!

Exotic Tulips from Altenew, and the sentiment from another.
The tulips were stamped onto, and the darling little Alexandra Renke egg cut from a blended panel of hot press water color paper... The card base is made from PTI Ivory card stock... with a little snippet at the bottom that was treated to my favorite SU embossing folder.
Here are the inks I've used:

So.  What do you see in Chrissy's Sketch... we hope to see it in our gallery!  Come play!

Inspired By #64... Spring lovelies

OH my... is that not a perfect sign of Spring to come?  Hope the weather by you is sneaking peeks of Spring... if not?  Please join us in creating a bit in your own craft rooms, won't you?

I've gone quite literal with my card today using another of my new Altenew sets:  Lavender Bud and die... a sentiment from Beautiful Day, a little window from MFT and a sweet green gingham view compliments of EBE Plaid Maker.

Thanks for dropping by today … hope you've been Inspired By Spring lovelies!

Hello again!

I'm back to share a simple bit of stamping/inking/coloring I had with a new to me set from Altenew!  It's an adorable older set, called Bunny Love - on sale now!  The downside is there are no coordinating dies... the upside is to stamp them so those dies won't even be missed!

Do you happen to notice this week's CTS Sketch?
I couldn't help but add a little shine on that carrot!

Planned random-stamping and
simple Copic coloring is always cute, right?

A little sentiment on vellum is perfectly unimposing!

OR one can always just get out of their comfort zone, and do a bit of fussy cutting!  I haven't found the perfect detail scissors... do you have a recommendation?

This Easter Greetings paper from Lil' Inkers is a good match for my pencil-colored-on-natural paper!
It even provided my sentiment!

That's it for me this week... thank you for spending a bit of your time with me, and for all the kindness you've shared!  xx

OH before I go... did you get the memo?

Happy birthday, Justice Ginsburg!!

Something totally fun today... I am joining a Hop to celebrate one of the outstanding women of our time … Judge Ruth Bader Ginsburg!  I cannot wait to see her story on the big screen - or in my case on my big screen, because I missed it at the theater!

I've used Hero Arts' Dare to Dream set because it says it all perfectly, and just the way I'd like to say it!  So much so that I stamped the entire set right out of the package by anchoring it in my MISTI!

It was fun to make her robe, and to tuck another of those wonderful hands in!  'Birthday candles' made from Penny Black: Lovely Birthday

Thanks, Joan Bardee for planning this wonderful Hop, and for inviting me along!  Here is a complete list of the crafty party goers ... there are 4 prizes hidden along the way, so be sure to visit each member... Joan will announce the winner on March 21st at her blog...enjoy!!

CAS[E] this [retro] Sketch #313

It's Retro time again!  OH my … this one [#155] really stumped me the first time - I've had my not-so-literal way with it today!

Inspired By #63... dish it up!

There are few things I love better than dishes... and I'd happily welcome any of those pictured here into my cabinets!

Today I used my newest Altenew addition to my collection: Exotic Tulips for Inspired By #63 to create a few china patterns of my own!  =]

What are you Inspired By this week?  we'd be delighted to have you dish up something for us!

Penny Black is in the house!

This little Hedgehog from the newest Penny Black collection HAD to come live with me!  I think I may like him better than ice cream - and think of it: no calories!

It's called always love and also comes with dies...

I also made another little note card using
lovely birthday! and this time used the dies for cutting the card, and making that tiny tag!

and another using the tiny little cupcake from the

Have you made any of the new Penny Black stamps your own?

March CAS Stencil & Fusion Mint

I don't usually blog on the weekend, but a fun day in my craft studio turned out to be successful - that's something to share, right?

There are two Challenges that fit nicely into my play day ... Fusion: Mint:

My card is a true fusion, using the colors in the photo, and the circles [created by ghosting Winnie & Walter Pattern of Rings on an ombre cracked pistachio panel] from the Sketch - though I have flipped it.

Are you tiring of my EBE Hands
There are endless uses for them - shall I just say I cannot keep my hands from reaching for them!
Altenew Exotic Tulips, and sentiment from their Celebrations set.
Yes, it did make me think of my own wedding day - I carried white tulips!

Next, for the March CAS Stencil Challenge - Julia is asking us for Ghosting!  Which lifted my spirit!   thanks Julia! and Loll for the guidance!

My card is an indication of the long lasting Winter in my world … if only it could look this beautiful!  I've used a Winnie & Walter Into the Woods stencil, over a panel blended with Cracked Pistachio, Weathered Wood, and Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide inks.

Poppystamps Forest Village - cut from Fabriano hot press paper

So that's it from me this weekend … hope you have something wonderful planned even if it's to stay in your craft space all weekend! - thanks for sharing a bit of it with me!

Essentials by Ellen March Release

I'm very happy to be back to share a few more of my Backyard Bird Friends - just one of a few new Brandi Kincaid sets available today at Ellen Hutson, LLC!

I always look for a way to combine Brandi's sets with her Leading Ladies … what better Lady to invite to the party today than Photo Lady and coordinating dies?
She's got a sweet little Chickadee in her viewfinder!

I went right to my favorite Birding site for all the inspiration I need to color up Brandi's Backyard Bird Friends!

Over the weekend, we had more than 50 visitors to our berry-bearing bushes … are you familiar with the Cedar Waxwing?  Not only are they one of the most gorgeous of all birds, they are often heard before they are seen - think dog-whistle, ear-piercing whistle and you'll be close!

Here is my rendition...

I could not leave out another of my favorite birds -
the Hummingbird!
Believe it or not, I've had the honor of having
many Ruby-throated land on my fingers to feed!  Though I only dream of having an Anna's Hummingbird visit - it would truly be a magical day!

Thanks for allowing me to introduce you to a few of our friends, and to Backyard Friends … the entire release is available NOW at
Ellen Hutson, LLC.  The variety of ways to color these little Backyard Bird Friends is countless!

It's gonna be a bright, bright sunshine-y day!

The sun is out, the sky is blue!!!  How about a few flowers?  Anyone?  We are far from seeing anything bloom 'round here... but I have hope in my heart, and new stamps to get inky!!

Tulips are my most favorite flower... these are far brighter than the white ones I carried on my wedding day, but Exotic Tulips deserve exotic, bright colors!

I also have a few of the new Penny Black stamps to play with... my attempt on interactively lifting the cloche from the cake from Lovely Birthday

an acetate window on the card front...

and the cake is on the inside, glued just from the top
hiding the sentiment underneath it!

I hope you have a better time of
'getting the picture' than I did!

I'll be back in a few with more cards
that are for the birds!
