CAS[E] this Sketch #301

I've been so busy making cards for Christmas … I even repurposed a few of those tags that I made last year!  You know, because I don't actually wrap presents!!

Donna's Sketch for #301 was just the perfect inspiration …

… I'm tickled pink to put this tag to use!

Hope you're all cozied up getting ready for Christmas!!  It's only 12 days away!  Need to get in the mood?  let's go see what inspired this Sketch!

Inspired By #50 ... happy mail!

Happy mail, indeed!  Sadly, there is/was a postal strike in Canada at the time I created this card … a special card for our sweet IB leader will undoubtedly be late!  But birthday wishes do NOT expire, right?!

No doubt you'll see what I was Inspired By … can't wait to see what you all do with this fabulous photo!

CAS Christmas December

Trina is the host of the CAS Christmas - December Challenge, and has chosen a marvelous theme:

A little side story must be told here today.  Many of you know that I've been making cards for years … I know many of you that have, too.  But have you made a card that was a favorite?  I have, and had saved it for many years … until this Christmas!  I decided I really wanted to recreate it, and will share this rendition with CAS Christmas today!  [my apologies for not having a photo of that card!] [read to the bottom!  I found it!]

This time my Star is from The Ton, add the perfect sentiment from Unity, and that little tree tip is a circa 2013 set from Clearly Besotted - and just happens to be what I used on that favorite card!!

Who among you has a star on the top of your Christmas tree?
It was always the very last ornament on my parents' tree!

I'm having so much fun with all of this play time!!  Thanks for stopping in today!

CAS[E] this Sketch #300

When there are so many cards to make, and so little time, it's nice to have a simple, yet superb Sketch to play with...

I've tipped it, and 'enbiggened' my sentiment … 'tis the season, right?

… happy to send you Christmas wishes - and a little Christmas snow!

Let's go see what fun my team members have gotten into... and we're always happy to see YOU all in the CTS gallery!

Another not-so-sneaky EBE peek #2

IF you happen to be on Instagram, you'll see this there... but if you don't do IG how can I sneak to you?  I couldn't forgive myself for not showing you here, too!

Ready.  set.  sneak!

wait... you want more?  okay... but don't you tell a soul!!!  anybody sending 'save the date' cards might like this one.  lol

Amazing what a few little snippets of patterned paper can add to a card design!  those Hands dies, and SO much more cuteness will be available on December 9th...Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!

Inspired By #49 ... peppermint

What would we do without Peppermint sticks, or candy canes at Christmastime?  I'm so happy Laurel couldn't do without...

… and doubly happy I had this darling little Casual Friday mug die to play with!  It's so simple to make it just the right size, and a few embossing powders made them look a bit like pewter!  I just swiped, sprinkled, and melted them one at a time.
Ranger Watering Can is the darkest, white for highlights in the center, and silver.  well.  it is a Christmas card!  My peppermint sticks were made by stamping a diagonal stripe in red, on white, and clear embossing for a shiny candy coating!

I'm now inspired to have cocoa - chocolate peppermint will do nicely!   Come have a cup with me, then make a card for Inspired By #49!  We'll be so happy if you do!

I'm also sending this one over to the Coffee Lovers … I think  cocoa is allowed!  amy will like it, don't you think?

this fabulous graphic??  It's that time again!
I even bought a new cup for the occasion, which prompted a little crafty time! and my card design!!

EBE December sneak #1

Hello, my friends!  It's Essentials by Ellen release day on Sunday December 9th... but we've been given the ok to sneak-peek a bit on Instagram.  you know I'm either way too sneaky, or can't help but show the whole darned card - this is one of those whole-enchilada days!  and I know you don't all DO Instagram!

High Five stamps, and dies - available 12/9!

Does anyone else remember red wax lips?  I'm pretty sure a certain M. Jagger does!

I'll be sharing more on Thursday … see you then?

Day 4 of Ellen's 12 Tags of Christmas - with a Feminine Twist!

Hello my friends!  Here we are at Day 4! of Ellen's 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist! Be sure to read to the end... there are prizes, my friends!!!

I have the pleasure of teaming up with the fabulous Justine Hovey!  We chose to use Pretty Pink Posh products on our tags, using heat embossing and non-traditional colors!

There is one of the PPP sets that really stole my heart this year:  Flourishing Fuchsias and coordinating dies.  Think that can't work for Christmas?  Think again!

I've heat embossed just the leaves in white onto TH water color card stock, and colored them with Distress Inks:  Milled Lavender, and Shabby Shutters - could that lavender be more feminine?  okay, the pearls don't hurt, do they?

How about a little closeup?  Can you see the splash of
Gansai Tambi White Gold from their Starry Colors set?
Doesn't it look wonderful
with the silver heat embossed sentiment from
Now how can you make a tag without a little sentiment?  I wrote my own on my PC and printed it strategically
so it can be cut with a die - this favorite from
PPP Decorative Tag no. 1 works the charm!

Now, please join me as I visit Justine?  I cannot wait to see her heat embossed, non-traditional-color tag!

Wait! Before you go... I did mention prizes, didn't I? Ellen Hutson will be giving away twelve $25 gift certificates and one $150 gift certificate to the shop. Comments left at the EH blog, and tags made for our challenge make YOU eligible to win!   so. one more word GO!!
