It's a Wrap!

I recently invited my friend Marcia to my house for a playdate!  As usual she brought a few of her new goodies to share with me!  I needed that day more than I can tell you!  We laughed, we cried, we stamped and ATE!

This little It's a Wrap Posy Pocket die from The Greetery is the thing we agreed to play with and also to share with all of you!  I had so much fun filling one that I had to fill the other, too!

I found that the Altenew Tulips I love so much fit pretty well inside that sweet wrap and The Greetery's Winterberry Bouquet provides the perfect greenery/filler!  Don't you love that sweet little bow?

Since it was pretty full, I decided to keep my card CAS but
added a fun Waffle Flower Craft Stitched Diamond panel for interest.
The foiled sentiment was ready to go [also from Waffle Flower - Hey, there!]

The second wrap I filled with a sweet lavender mini set from Altenew -
has anyone ever seen orange lavender??  Hey, that's the fun of cardmaking!
I can stamp them anyway I'd like, right?

Actually, it was just because I found this Neat & Tangled tag among my snippets
and the color just looked so pretty with the PTI Bitty Big paper I cut the wraps from that I decided to stamp the lavender in shades of orange.
A few sprigs [Altenew Wildflower Garden] and a PFS sentiment and
it's a Wrap!

Thanks so much, Marcia, for sharing your goodies, and your shoulder - xx  I'm on my way over to see how you filled your wraps!  I know you'll knock my socks off!

Please join me, my friends, right here!

Color Hues #43 - Second helpings!

I had a blast reading all of the guesses I received about what I used to
stamp my first card for Color Hues #43!

No winner, but two of you guessed produce.
Darnell, with potato, and Hideko guessed a carrot!
Are you ready??  I used the very bottom portion cut from a full
stalk of CELERY!!  This is the only instance where my mom would
be just fine with me playing with my vegetables!!

I found a few more 'smooshed' pieces in my snippets using Oxide inks in blueprint sketch and lucky clover.  I stamped a few flowers over one with versafine black, clear embossed, and die cut them.  The panel was just big enough to use a scalloped die to cut a panel from, then I found another snippet to cut the leaves and stems from.

I used that same die to cut a card base - holding it over the fold to keep it intact.

The flowers and sentiment are from The Stamp Market Ready to Bloom.

YOU are all the BEST!  Thanks for the kindness you share with me!

Color Hues #43 - Blue & Green

I am beyond happy that this fabulous duo of colors came up at Color Hues #43!

I've been sitting on several panels made during a fun 'smooshing session' with Distress Oxide Blueprint Sketch and lucky clover inks.  I'm going to throw a challenge out to my kind visitors today - if you can tell me what I used to stamp these images, I'll send you the card!  Of course, the first one to guess correctly wins!

Ready.  Set.  Guess...

Good luck to you... and me, too!

No winner yet - keep guessing! 6/20 8:15

[An SSS die from a dear friend made this make pretty easy - thanks, Coni! you ARE loved so very much!]

Doodlebugs Friday!

I have another Altenew Paint-a-Flower set to share today!
Their Paint-a-Flower African Daisy had been an inspiration to
me in my studio recently.  Today I'll use it for a bit of Copic coloring practice and use it again for a masculine no-coloring design!

Here's a peek... meet you at the Doodlebugs Blog?

CAS Mix Up Challenge - June 2022

Welcome back, CAS Mix Up team - we all missed you so much!

I dug deep and found that dreamy embossing paste that I had to have after seeing it used the first time by Laura Bassen - yes, I do it, too!  Color me influenced!

I found a way to use it in a fun way ... at the beach!

The paste has a pretty pearlescence to it... my little PTI Sandpiper is having a
good time dashing in and out of the receding waves!

Off I go to deliver this to their gallery - have you delivered yours yet?

The Flower Challenge #69 Reminder

You have two more weeks to add your yellow and blue floral cards to our

Here's a simple reminder of how beautifully these colors represent our
prayers for the Ukrainian people!  The sentiment sure fits!

Altenew Paint a Flower Camellia, and coordinating stencils.
I used only two CP inks: Drive-in [blue] and Limoncello [yellow]
Then a stitched outline from a SSS die set called Shimmer Oval for a little added interest.
The sentiment is also from the Camellia set.

Okay!  Enough from me - let's go see all the beautiful reminders from my teamies, and our wonderful guest, my friend Nancy Penir!

CAS Christmas June 2022 - Second helpings!

Whilst putting away all my supplies from the prior June 2022 CAS Christmas card I made, I stumbled across another wreath!  One that might get overlooked unless you're quite observant...

Tucked inside the package were a few more of the sentiments I wrote for this set - still seems like a good one since they're obviously hauling home a tree, so I'll include it on my card after using an Altenew sentiment die to cut it out.  The Penny Black image* was stamped and Copic colored.  A bit of fussy cutting and Bob's your Uncle.  oh.  that snowy embossing folder isn't labeled at all - sorry.

This one also has a paw-fectly cute furry friend for the gals at the Christmas Kickstart Challenge:

Thanks to both challenges for getting me started on my 2022 stash!

Color Hues #42: Black and Yellow

Bumble Bees are so sweet it was hard not to reach for one!
I had another black and yellow thing in mind...
anyone else love Black-eyed Susans?

My yellow might be a bit on the pale side, so here's the 'leftovers' put to use:

Oh, oh.  I might like this one better.  How about you?  I guess
you'll have to come by Color Hues to see which one was added to the
gallery ... hey, while you're there, why not play along??

A very old SSS die was used here, called Sunflower Frame

CAS Christmas Card Challenge June 2022

I'm pleased as Christmas punch that the gals at CAS Christmas are BAAAAcK!!!!  I just happen to have a wreath or three in my stash.  This one, from Lil' Inkers never gets old - even though the company doesn't exist any longer.

The image was stamped in a new SU ink, and water-colored in another from my sweet friend!  It was hard not to use the coordinating papers!  The center circle was die cut with an old MFT stitched circle and settled right back where it came from, while I lifted the wreath itself with foam tape.
A clean bright white panel of white was embossed with a Sunny Studio woodgrain embossing folder and covered my side-fold card base.

That's a wrap - have a wonderful weekend!

Thanks, CAS Christmas team!

Playing Cards with Friends - June 2022

My darling, sweet, fun, AND funny friend Linda Callahan of Stampin' Seasons, is my playdate for Playing Cards with Friends June 2022!  Linda and I often hear songs in our heads when viewing one another's cards - so today I made that part of our assignment!  But not just ANY song - oh, no!  Today we will be:

  • Making it a birthday card
  • inspired by a song by Prince!  Yeah - it's a thing!  Go to National Today.com to read all about it!
  • Choose a color from one of [or use all of] these colorful Prince songs:
    1. Raspberry Beret
    2. Purple Rain or
    3. Little Red Corvette
Of course, I had to choose my favorite of all Prince songs: Raspberry Beret - even if I have made one before!  One can never have too many chicks wearing berets, can they?

"Hope you don't mind - I schtarted the party a wine bit early!"

An old set [no longer available] from SugarPea Designs.  I can almost hear her feathered butt hitting the floor!  A 'CHEEP' date just like me! LOL

Linda, thanks so much for accepting my invitation!  I hope you've had as much fun as I had with this assignment!  Can't wait another second to come see ... and I hope my friends will join me!  Cheers to you, and another for Prince - he sure did know how to make my pants get up & dance!

=] Michele

As mentioned, this set, and the sentiment are no longer available - the die is from Paper Rose: Wonky Scalloped Circles & Border dies.

The Flower Challenge #69 - Blue and Yellow

Continued support for those brave people of Ukraine, we've chosen blue and yellow for our color challenge this month at The Flower Challenge!   My card started with a few foiled hexagons from Pinkfresh Studios... foiled one at a time, of course...

... and then the fun continued with stamping galore!

I think this is as 'mixed media' as I've ever been! ha!  Only a few shades of blue, and yellow were used to color my flowers, and butterflies.  Then I added bits of stamping in grey, a few random dots of color, and a wonderful sentiment from W+9's Flora and Fauna 3 set - love that there is a die included for that sentiment!

I'm looking forward to all the blue and yellow cards in our gallery this week!  Thank you for playing!  Come see what my friend Nancy Penir, of Artful Notions, has added to our gallery as our featured guest this month!
