Freshly Made Sketches #313

Freshly Made Sketches' host is Karren Johnson... and it drew me in like ... like ... well.  a big ol' piece of chocolate cake - how's that?
Karren gnomes how much I admire her Copic skills - thought I'd put my own to task:

Inside:  you Gnome me so well!

That's it for today ... sorry about the plethora of posts ... that trouble with Blogger really messed with my schedule this week!  TGIF!

I'll see you tomorrow for Day 18 of 25 Days of Christmas Tags!

First, and Second Helpings

Happy to have enough of those gorgeous blooms I created during Bobby's visit to make more than one card ... think it's okay to serve up Second Helpings to The Flower Challenge's CAS #14?  We'll see!

Roses, and Hellebores... aren't they the perfect pair? These are from Wplus9, and Dawn has a wonderfully helpful video sharing her way of using the MISTI with layering stamps... you'll find it here.  This is the second card I created with them:

CAS is often described as having "lots of white space" but I think this soft grey is a beautiful stand-in!

Speaking of WHITE ... here is another little goodie that Bobby brought along... this darling little Christmas Tree die from Concord & 9th ... fa la la fabulous!  and on its way to Inspired By all the Little Things #72... Laura Jane's white Christmas tree was my inspiration!

Thanks for stopping by ... always makes me...

CAS[E] this Sketch #248

Chrissy Larson has 20/20 vision for Sketch design, don't you think... let me show you what she's gifted us for the next TWO weeks!  Yes, it is a two week long challenge so we can gather together with our families to give thanks!

I have another little new-to-me Penny Black stamp ... she wanted to play cards with us today:

Please don't even start to give me credit for my water coloring, I must tell you that the Penny Black folks give us very beautiful graphics on their packaging - I simply followed their lead, the best I could.  I started with Zigs, came in with a bit of Fossilized Amber Oxide ink for the bauble, with a splash of Gansai Tambi gold mixed in.  Finished her off with a sprinkling of Stickles!

Voila!  Another Christmas card done:  check!

It's time I invite you to the CAS[E] this Sketch blog -   BUT I really want to say how grateful I am for all of you that visit, comment - making this journey with me... thank you - I wouldn't, couldn't do it without your support!

Happy Thanksgiving to you!

25 Days of Christmas Tags - Day 16

Ellen Hutson, LLC is our sponsor today ... need I remind you how much I love this company?  didn't think so  =]

I might have to buy someone a bottle of bubbly for this one!

Can a tag be masculine?  I totally think this is, and a bit sexy!
and that ribbon?  just one of those tucked into
every order shipped!
This black and white theme just kept recreating itself on my craft table:
That 'Holiday Cheer' sentiment comes from another fave
from E.H.: Advent
Small on size, but big on beautiful is what I think about a black and white design - a bit of Delicata Gold didn't hurt, either!
I hope you enjoyed my little foray into Tag-ing with Ellen Hutson ... I'm off to see what Ellen's team gifted us with... will you join me?

I can't wait to see what little wonders you add to the 25 Days of Christmas Tags gallery!

The Flower Challenge - CAS

Since CAS is my go-to style, why has it taken a reminder to get a card over to The Flower Challenge's CAS challenge?

Well, I had just the card today - a perfect fit... well.  at least I think it does!

Hope they do, too!

Supplies from Bobby's stash:  Wplus9 Hellebore, and Rose Builder sets, and a tag from C&9th; my own Last Leaf ink, a few DOX inks, and the perfect slip of vellum, and dash of enamel dots!

25 Days of Christmas Tags - Day 15

Whether I like it or not, Winter will soon be coming our way... how do you feel about SNOW?  I'm good with it, if I don't have to shovel too much at one time... or if I can create it on a card - Tracey is inviting us to do just that today as we join her at Muse: Christmas Visions - challenge 89!  Theme: Snow!

Here is my idea of a little snow-bunny-fun!  Do I ever wish you were here to help him make a snow-angel with his little wobbler-action!

If you visit me on Instagram, you can see that action - Bobby was my hand-double!

Now we cannot wait to see what you'll do with the Snow-themed challenge.  Don't forget to:
  • follow the rules - here AND link to MCV!
  • fix that 'no-reply blogger' issue - I feel so badly when I cannot say thank you for visiting with a click of the mouse!
  • and, most importantly make those tags, peeps!!!  there are such fantastic prizes!
Thanks so much for stopping by today!

25 Days of Christmas Tags - Day 14

Concord & 9th is our sponsor today ... sadly I have a limited number of sets so I've gone back to their fabulous beginnings to create a fun tag for today!  Without naming them, I wonder who will guess which sets I've used?

that little sentiment is a gift from a friend, from MFT.

Nothing says celebrate like gold, right?

Hope you are having a blast creating Tags for Tracey - I know I sure am!  I'm also enjoying visiting your blogs... now be absolutely sure you're following the rules!  I'd hate to see anyone miss out on one of those prizes!

I've also used the TCP Small Envie dies to include extra love in the form of sequins, and cut the gorgeous little heart out of a little snippet of gold foil paper!
My sentiment was stamped in Delicata Gold pigment ink.
My second card is made with another fabulous new die:
and that adorable little heart-shaped nest from
Sent with Love:
I've used some very basic dies to create the perfect platform for this little nest!

Playing Cards! TCC and FMS

Two of my favorite challenges seemed to play really well together in my craft room today!  This photo from The Card Concept's challenge 81 provided the inspiration:

Cecile's Sketch #312 at Freshly Made Sketches gave me a beautiful platform for it!

Using a personal rendition of Cecile's Sketch, and inspired by the gorgeous little personal pots of Poinsettia, here's my 'Classic Layered' card:

Thanks for letting me invade your space twice today!  xx

=]  Michele

E.H. Mondo Poinsettia; Lil' Inkers wood grain background die; Stamplorations Bees Knees sentiment from the Layered Holly set; Distress Oxides for water coloring.

25 Tags of Christmas - Day 10

Winnie & Walter is our sponsor today... yay!  I've long been a fan!

For today's tag I revisited a darling little set called In Bloom: Frenchy's Festive Florals, and the coordinating dies.  If you know me at all, you also know how much I adore wood-grain papers, embossing folders, and stamps... W&W have the perfect tag-sized stamp in Mini-Scenery Multi-Grain - here I've gold heat embossed it, right onto a tag-sized card!

I adore that little JOY that totally comes in the die set!

I'm off to peruse the 25 Tags gallery... hope to see YOU in it!

WCMC9 Guest Designer

I found a little request to Guest Design for Where Creativity Meets C9's Challenge #15 in my inbox ... Jessica thank you, I'm thrilled to join your fabulous group for this challenge!!

I pulled out a few older sets, and one favorite from last Christmas, and went to town... hope you like it!

Concord & 9th's Flourish Stamps, and Bags & Tags, were used to create the bauble, stamped in Delicata Gold ink.  Those darling little stars are from their Joy set, and OH was I happy to bring out the JOY die for the 2017 Christmas Season!  [hoping to find more of that gold foil paper this season, too... from Michael's]

Thanks for stopping by... you'll be seeing more of these C&9th baubles on Day 4 of 25 Days of Christmas Tags!

CAS[E] this Sketch # 247

I'm so loving Donna Mikasa's Sketch this week... made for the cutest platform for another Christmas card - so happy to see that my stack of cards is growing daily!

For CTS #247, I've combined a  Penny Black kitty, hanging on for dear life!  a FUN combination, in my opinion!

SO fun, I made two!  Winnie & Walter provided the die-cut words!

You can see that Donna's Sketch is adaptable, and we can't wait to see how you adapt it to your own, very special style!

Time Out - CASE the Designer

It is an understatement to say I'm so honored by the Time Out team of designers... to think they'd like to CASE me?  Their theme is a Thank You card for Challenge 96!   Here is the card I chose for the team, and why...

I think of CASE-ing not as Copy And Share Everything, but as trying to create something similar, yet maintain your own style.

This card was created while on the Muse DT - it was a post about being thankful - perfect!   because my friend Donna Mikasa had encouraged me to try a technique I hadn't done before.  PLUS I based my card on one I'd watched the fabulous Laura Bassen make.  See!  I loved CASE-ing both of their fabulous styles, and tried to make it my own!

Which is what I encourage YOU to do - oh I do hope you'll play along!

Here is today's version... watch how I change it up:

Today's card uses a stencil to emboss the card base, instead of inking it!  Instead of camouflaging my die-cut word, I cut it from patterned paper so it is up front - the star of the show.  It's hard to see, but I did cut the die out of the card front, and lined it with that perfect slip of vellum - it's lovely when the light shines through.

Thank you to Sandie, and to the entire Time Out team for this honor.

Thank YOU for stopping by ... it always makes me...

Supplies for today's card:  Thankful die from MFT.  Stencil from Gina Marie Designs.  'for your thoughts' from a SSS Thanks set.  Ellen Hutson's gorgeous linen cardstock.

Inspired by All the Little Things #71

The photo inspiration at Inspired by All the Little Things Challenge #71 grabbed me by my love of all things gray, and a certain new little Star die!

Varied widths of stripes were created by masking and blending with Altenew Industrial gray.  That beautiful little star is one of my purchases from the craft show I attended  - Ellentina is the brand, called Long Stars, it contains four sizes - and I love one embossed on the next!  A few of my favorite snowflakes from Reverse Confetti, along with a Jolly little sentiment from Wplus9, completes my card!

The Cat's Pajamas TCP Tuesday 341

We're a week into November - already! - and that means it is time once again for the next edition of The Cat's Pajamas TCP Tuesday Challenge!

For Challenge #341 we'd like you to Tag It!  Simply said, make a tag!  It is the gift-giving season, right?

Here is where my silly sense of humor took me - well, it will soon be hunting season 'round here - even though we never would!!!

A little bit of glittery Stickles is all the pizzazz this needed!

See how I did that?  a tag, on a tag, WITH a tag!!!

You'll recognize our fun little Rudolph die who I've adhered to a simple circle die-cut, and added a tiny tag stamped with a partial sentiment from Reindeer Games... and few others:  Luggage Tags where the to, and from, could be written, and from  Presents the cutest little bow a girl, or Rudolph, could ask for!

We sure do hope you'll play along with us... there is a very generous prize for the winner!  $50 store credit, people!  Run by the TCP blog to read all about it!

So get those tags made - you know you've been shopping!

25 Days of Christmas Tags - Day 6

I'm back on Day 6 of Tracey's 25 Tags of Christmas using this days sponsor:  Lil' Inkers!

If you follow me on IG [@mfergu01 if you'd like to] I've been creating lots of cards using Lil' Inkers Vintage Wreath - it is bound to become an all-time favorite in my large collection of Christmas crafting supplies!  I've checked their stock: it's in the shop - but you better hurry!

Copic-colored - very simply!  and simple, too, because the stamp provides all that lovely shaded detail!

Here is how I've wrapped a vintage cookbook, in a lovely linen kitchen towel - I think the tag is quite beautiful with the acetate window.  Quite easily made with a simple circle die that was the perfect fit.  [It provides the perfect place for a favorite sentiment from Ellen Hutson - they are our sponsor on Day 16 btw!]

Remember, if you play along, follow Tracey's instructions to the letter - there are prizes you know!!!  Here is a link to Tracey's link!  I'll be by to visit soon!
