CAS Mix Up Card Challenge

Bonnie has chosen one of my all-time favorite card making supplies … you really don't want to know how many embossing folders I have!  But I just added another to the collection - yes, I may do have a problem!

Here's my recipe for CAS Mix Up November:
  • embossing folder [I've used two]
  • die cutting
  • ink stamping, swiping + heat embossing
Here is the result:

You'll see that I've embossed the green cardstock, created my 'wreath' with two Scalloped circle dies, then embossed it with my favorite winter embossing folder from Richard Garay - pine needles.  I then swiped a white pigment ink pad over the raised surfaces, and randomly dipped it in white embossing powder; heating between dips.  That gorgeous bow is from Altenew.  How about a closer look:

My inside sentiment is an older MFT... still gorgeous to me. My panel has been embossed with my new folder - from Stampin Up … I'm sure you have a representative close to you.

Thanks for the visit!  I'm off to the CAS Mix Up gallery...

Wow my friend ~ this is stunning!!! I love the frosted look on the wreath, as though it's been tipped in snow. The bow is perfect for this lovely wreath too.

MMMMMmmm I knew we were kindred spirits Michele! I also love embossing folders - although lately I have not given them much love! You have me needing to shop! I especially love the new SU folder!

Beautiful CAS design Michele!! Love the texture from your embossed card front. What great texture ... I think I need to buy that folder! :) Your wreath is so cool. Very creative to use the scalloped circle dies and then add the pine needle dry emboss and then heat emboss on top. The wreath is very artsy and beautiful! The bow is the perfect finishing touch! Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up! xx

beautiful card sweetie, I love embossing folders though I keep forgetting to use these days. Used my first the other day I reckon in 6 months, thats shocking when you look at how much they add character to our cards.

Love the rough texture of your cardstock from the embossing folder and the heat embossing on the diecuts. Looks wonderful.

Thud. That's my jaw. Beautiful work. I'm glad you have so many embossing folders and I hope you show them in action more often. I could use seeing more creative ways of using the horde I have. That wreath is just gorgeous! Love that second embossing folder, too. So subtle and lovely. Thank you SO much for sharing, Michele! Hugs!

Michele, now I need to ask you how you store so many embossing folders!
Making a “wreath” with scalloped circle dies is so clever! I love how you heat-embossed the snow!
I received my order from SU yesterday. Guess what? The embossing folder you used for this card! It was back-ordered for a while and I finally got it. I love the subtle texture! :-)

This is brilliant Michele. That wreath truly stands out, dry embossing + white ink + EP = perfect. Looks like the one I hang on the door at Christmas. The wrapped bow is a nice embellishment too, truly in harmony with this elegant card. Thanks for joining us at CAS Mix Up! xxx

Love this, Michelle. I do have quite a few embossing folders, but don't use them as much as I should. The CMU challenge was a perfect reason to go through my collection and get reacquainted with them...
