It is an understatement to say I'm so honored by the Time Out team of designers... to think they'd like to CASE me? Their theme is a Thank You card for Challenge 96! Here is the card I chose for the team, and why...
I think of CASE-ing not as Copy And Share Everything, but as trying to create something similar, yet maintain your own style.
This card was created while on the Muse DT - it was a post about being thankful - perfect! because my friend Donna Mikasa had encouraged me to try a technique I hadn't done before. PLUS I based my card on one I'd watched the fabulous Laura Bassen make. See! I loved CASE-ing both of their fabulous styles, and tried to make it my own!
Which is what I encourage YOU to do - oh I do hope you'll play along!
Here is today's version... watch how I change it up:
Today's card uses a stencil to emboss the card base, instead of inking it! Instead of camouflaging my die-cut word, I cut it from patterned paper so it is up front - the star of the show. It's hard to see, but I did cut the die out of the card front, and lined it with that perfect slip of vellum - it's lovely when the light shines through.
Thank you to Sandie, and to the entire Time Out team for this honor.
Thank YOU for stopping by ... it always makes me...
Supplies for today's card: Thankful die from MFT. Stencil from Gina Marie Designs. 'for your thoughts' from a SSS Thanks set. Ellen Hutson's gorgeous linen cardstock.
We are honoured to have you as our CASE designer and with one amazong card-love the design and the fresh Spring colours. And adore how you CASEd your own card, what super embossing x
Congrats! Gorgeous card to be CASEing, and your new version of it is just as splendid!
oooohhh....beautiful. Both cards!
Thanks for sharing your perspective on CASE-ing and your gorgeous card Michele. You are so clever and creative when it comes to card creating. Like here, the bit with the vellum...such a neat idea! I also like how you embossed with the stencil. All around lovely work! :) Hugs!
Gorgeous take on the original design, loving the design paper sentiment and the subtle background pattern!
LOVE that bright cheerful sentiment! Reminds me that I have some of those dies somewhere!!!
How wonderful to see two gorgeous creations in this post, Michele. Love the roses and inlaid thanks in the first and so taken with the star-of-the-stage thankful in the second. Congratulations on your GD role; you've offered us plenty of openings for inspiration!
So pleased to see you on the Time Out blog. I'm must make time to CASE your gorgeous card! xxx
A CASE of a CASE of a CASE of a CASE!!! Almost sounds like I'm playing 'Clue,' doesn't it?! Anyway, both are quite lovely and because your first card is all over blogland, I can tell you it has everyone enraptured. Gorgeous is about the only way to describe it. I do like your second one, too. It's soft and subtle, and a little bold at the same time. As the little ones sometimes say, "you're a good card maker," and you most definitely fit that description! Hope all is well with you... I've been gone so long that I've got to catch up with you soon!! Bev
So wonderful to have you as our designer to CASE, Michele! I love the card you've made for our inspiration, our DT has made fabulous cards and I look forward seeing the entries in the gallery! I love your color choices and the hidden die cut sentiment is one of my favorite techniques -I haven't made my card for next week yet (I'm in the reminder team) but am thinking I'm CASEing that element for sure!
Well done, congrats! It'll be fun playing along again...I pretty sure I played that muse as well.
And a better designer to CASE they could never find!! I love both of these but am partial to the lovely colors on the second one! Pretty cards Michele!
Congrats! Both of your cards are gorgeous - the first one is so rich and modern-looking and the second one is so fresh and textured! Great CASE!
You already know what a joy it is to have you as our CASE Designer at Time Out, Michele ... we are honoured! It was so fun to work with the original ... and I absolutely adore your CASE. The yummy subtle texture, the bold PP sentiment ... and I'm imagining how the light shines through the slip of vellum backing the sentiment. It's gorgeous in my mind's eye, so it must be IRL! Thanks so much for inspiring us and our players, my friend! Hugs, Anita :)
Congrats on being the CASE designer at Time Out! Love your card and your remake is absolutely creative and inspiring! Don't have much time to play right now but hope to carve out some to play along.
Congratulations, Michele! I loved your CASE card but the new version is a stunner! Beautiful!!!
Wow, Michele. I came by to compliment your inspiration card and to tell you I am so excited to post my CASE of it next week. And, what do you know, I find that you have CASED yourself with absolutely stunning results. I do truly love both cards. Such an interesting way, in both cases, to keep so much white space, and also have a beautiful and intricate design. Thanks so much for being our inspirational CASE designer at Time Out.
Hi Michele! I am behind in commenting, but wanted to come over and tell you how much I love your card for TO 96, and then to my surprise, I see you have CASEd yourself. How cool is that??? Both cards are so wonderful. I Love the hidden sentiment technique, and I also love that you used patterned paper for the sentiment on your CASE. Your work is always a joy to see. Thank you so much for joining us and being our wonderful inspiration at Time Out!!
This is GORGEOUS, Michele!!!! Love it so much!!
