There was no doubt in my mind that a second cup wasn't warranted for
for this fun Double D Hot Beverages challenge!
Did you happen to notice that cookie balanced on the cup?
Do you remember THIS cookie card? It's been 5 years, but I've never forgotten
how much I loved making it! Enter my 2022 version:
I found the perfect little square of cardboard that had been embossed
and a perfect size for a double layered Christmas cookie tree die from
The Cat's Pajamas. The lights were hung with Nuvo white drops!
My mug was cut with an arched die from WF with the bottom lopped off and corrugated with a fun EF from Sizzix/SU. Two more of those arches created the handle, a sweet little sentiment from The Ton, and a background panel of grey embossed with Spellbinders' Ski Lodge.
Speaking of custom cups - here's one that I created using one of those favored Altenew Rounded Rectangle dies & MFT's Snowflake window.
You'll recognize the handle from that Casual Friday mug - but two heart dies
could easily recreate it! Top it off with another of those cute marshmallow dudes, and a sentiment in red from Clearly Besotted and we're done here!
You'll have to buzz over to Double D to see which one made their gallery - while you're there, why not add a cup or two of your own?
Oh my gosh...as if the first card wasn't enough, that snowflake window on the second (and the little marshmallow)....sent me over the edge!! I may just have to do some shopping!
OMG Michele ... these are both just AWESOME! What a great take on the mood board with your cookie on the rim of the cup and LOVE Mr. Marshmallow on your second card. Are you aware we also run an EMBOSSING challenge AND a Christmas challenge? I'll add the links below ... please come join in our fun there too ... Thanks so much for joining in the fun at our Double D challenge! Good Luck and we hope you’ll come back often. We appreciate your support!

Beautiful cards as always
Spectacular card! Love the simplicity and elegance of the design. The embossed, soft gray background is amazing. The teetering cookie is the perfect touch. Thanks for sharing at the Double D, "Hot Beverage" Challenge.
Oh gosh, two more mugs and both soooo cute! Aren't you creative making your own mugs. I love the first with its cozy sweater knit background and the cookie perched on the rim. I'm adoring your 2017 card for the first time. That inspiration board is amazing. How could anyone eat those cookies? This mug-with-cookie card is a perfect match with the lower left picture from the DD inspiration board. Too clever! I'm smiling at a return visit from the marshmallow guy on your second card. I would love to have either one of these mugs in my cupboard. Thanks for playing with us at Double D, Michele!
Such a clever coffee mug! I love the corrugation with the clever handle! The gingerbread Christmas tree looks almost too pretty to eat. Almost! Your second cup with the snowflakes is delightful as well as that marshmallow dude! You have outdone yourself with this challenge, my friend!
Two creative works of art, my friend!
Well goodness Michele! These are fantastic. Loved the charm of the first one and then scrolled down to be cheered again by that cutie snow marshmallow man! Love the texture on the first and the snowflakes on the second. So much to enjoy in these cards. Thanks so much for sharing. :)
Two very ingenious cards but I think the first one is my favourite, must be the grey I think xx
Oh your brain is amazing. These designs are so cute!
OK, both of these are just too CUTE too Michele!! I adore that little cookie perched on the edge of your cup and that embossing folder background is just perfect! And your 2nd card with that sweet marshmallow snowman will always have my heart...along with the heart handle too! Cute, CUTE cards my friend!! Hugs. :0)
Oh, that hanging cookie is the cutest--especially on your corrugated mug!
The cookie tree on the corrugated mug is amazingly like the photo inspiration, Michele. The snowflake die fit the rounded rectangles perfectly to make another mug. Great cards!!!
LOVE that first card! Wow very intriguing textures and cuts! Both cups make me feel all warm inside, dreaming of that hot beverage
Oh those fabulous mugs! These are adorable! Cups and saucers gather dust in my china cabinet and my mugs are used daily! Don't tell my grandmother that!
And I thought your cookie/coffee card from 5 years ago was cute, this one is more elegant and just plain gorgeous Michele! I love it! I also love the cutie below it, the little marshmallow snowman is just so cute! Love the embossing and Love the navy blue or is it black? What ever the color is looks awesome! But the coffee/cookie card is my favorite. Hugs, Brenda
I'm sorry I have been MIA lately. I have so much to say about your art! You really went to town on these hot drinks. I would like a splash of Bailey's Irish Cream in mine, please. Both of these are fantastic. You were so creative in making that corrugated mug,a nd I just LOVE the cookie sitting on the rim. I looked back at your original, and loved that one too. Co clever. I love the way you made the second mug too - the snowflake panel looks marvelous on black. That snowmallow is just the cutest. I see he is getting a little toasty! Such fun cards that really bring a big smile.
