I'm back again with, as my title suggests, lots of color - which is a challenge for me in itself!
The Flower Challenge is looking for Brown & Pink!
That color combo reminded me of all the wonderful Hydrangea I've dried over the years! Here are some from last year!
and the supplies I used:
Next up ... my entry for Color Hues #2 . They're looking for shades of Navy and Turquoise ! I've been saving this little tweet-y [borrowed from a friend - thanks Marcia] for the perfect occasion... also the perfect occasion to use this trick for adding texture to your Copic colored images from Kathy Racoosin ... it added the most wonderful wooly texture, don't you think?
Happy weekend-eve my friends! Hope your plans include lots of fun, and a bit of crafting!
Before anyone asks... the embossing on my card is just one folder from many in a wonderful gift, from a fabulous friend who prefers to remain anonymous! Thank you SO very much!!! I LOVE the perfect branches for my little feathered friend!
O my sweet stars! Michele, that hydrangea looks so realistic! Like it could pop off the screen and right into my living room! Gorgeous coloring, sweet friend. I am still hoping to grow up to color like you one day :)
My hydrangeas are all changing color now and are so beautiful. My son planted six in our front yard when he put in a brick walk and created a new landscape design. He also put in a hydrangea tree which changes color all through the summer and into the fall. Love that card, and WOW, another fabulous entry to the Color Hues challenge. I learned that texture technique from Kathy Rancoosin's Online Card Class which was wonderful, but have yet to try it. Love that sweet little girl (from MFT?) and her cute blue bird. The embossed background is just perfect, too. So glad to see you again!
Gorgeousness all round! Coolest coloured Hydrangea ever and who doesn't love a little Navy and turquoise together, it's always a winner in my book!
Two stunners Michele. I might have to start a new list. Love the coloring of the hydrangeas, very artistic. Your lil gal's wool coat is fabulous.
WOW...two FABULOOUS cards in one post! Your Hydrangea is absolutely STUNNING Michele! The browns and pinks are colored so beautifully and realistic looking...lovely, lovely card!! And your little tweet-y girl looks fabulous in her navy and turquoise ensemble and the background is just plain AWESOME!! I'd say you definitely aced both of these challenges my friend! Have a great weekend!! :0)
THUD.... holy smokes is your hydrangea card ever drop dead GORGEOUS!! Then you give us this little winter darling. The texture adds such a pretty touch!
Two beauties to admire, Michele! Your talent in coloring the fall colors of your dried hydrangeas is amazing. My hydrangeas are in containers due to my previous home's sunny hilltop. It's my hope to plant them in our new yard this fall once the smoke is fully gone. I love your little girl and her textured works perfectly jacket.
Love this cute little girl, all wrapped up in her woolly winter coat Michele.
Love the texture you achieved with the colourless blender and the icy back drop works a treat.
Thanks for joining in with the #2 Color Hues challenge. :)
So sweet...both in your inimitable style! I have never heard of amalgam ink...is it waterproof? And I love how you created that texture, very clever!!
Happy sigh for all the goodness you are sharing, Michele. That hydrangea is simply stunning in its gorgeousness. You showed off your talents there, for sure. I mean, wow!! And then, and THEN you show your sweet little thing in her wooly coat and blow me away again. Just fabulous! You nailed the texture with that technique and how fun that the detailed embossing folder gave you the perfect opportunity to show off that sweet little bird as well. Fantastic work, my friend. Hope you have a lovely weekend. Hugs!
Let me pick my jaw up off the floor, my friend! That is the prettiest hydrangea ever! It was made for these colors! Your little borrowed sweetie is perfect for the turquoise/navy combination! Even the birdie fits right in! Love that embossing too! A twofer special!
The coloring of your hydrangea is amazing. Love the texture on your PI and that background combo is awesome. Two really great cards.
The hydrangea card is beautiful!!! Love your watercoloring and the splatters! And the texture on the cute girl looks awesome! It makes the clothes look so cozy!
Your hydrangea is soooo pretty, Michele! Your watercoloring with a little pencil detailing is amazing!!
And I LOVE the blue wool coat the little girl is wearing! It IS the most wonderful wooly texture! The two different patterns of dry embossing in the background adds so much interest to the snowy scene.
Ooooh your hydrangeas are just lovely made by the pretiest color combo! And that embossing folder went to the right home and found its way on the right card!
Oh my what beauties... I love that beautifully painted hydrangea and leaves, the dimension is wonderful. Then that cute as pie little girl in her woolly outfit... Absolutely adorable!
Gorgeous cards, Michele! I love how you created and colored the girls coat! Amazing! Thanks for joining us at Color Hues!
Two fabulous cards again Michele, esp. love the Hydrangea one esp., beautiful colouring. Thanks for sharing with us over at 'The Flower Challenge' ;) Viv DT xx
Both these cards are fabulous, your watercolouring of that hydrangea is masterful, the colours are wonderful and those splatters are perfect. Your copic colouring is equally good. Thanks for explaining how you got the texture. Lucky you having been to a class at MFT. I have visited the store once when I was on holiday in Florida a few years ago. Sadly, I think it is unlikely that I will ever get back there. I bought a lot of stuff, but wished I had got more when I got home! I don't order direct from stores outside the UK as it is just too expensive. Two very special cards xx
These are fantastic, Michele! Your first is a true stunner, and then there's that adorable PI girl -- perfect texture to the coloring too! Wow!
First of all the Hydrangea card is WOW! I love it! Second, look at you using the technique we learned at MFT. I have only done it a time or two. It really worked well for texture on her coat and yes it looks like she is very warm in her wool coat. So happy to see you back from round two at Color Hues! HUGS!
The beautiful hydrangea took my breath away! I am here to comment on your tweet-ie in the lovely textured coat! All the white snowbanks add to the texture and make such a pretty scene. Love your card!
I do love that embossing = perfect for your girl in blue and her birdie! And oh those hydrangeas - gorgeous!
I know I've already let you know how much I love this card on IG but had to leave you a comment here as well. Pink and brown totally stumped me as a combo but nothing seems to phase you!! Such a perfect flower stamp to use and your colouring is spectacular. I'm always excited to see you with us at The Flower Challenge and this month you totally rocked it!! xxx
Oh my goodness Michele, your hydrangea's are stunning! Such amazing coloring. Your coloring is equally amazing on your sweet little PI. Two fabulous cards here my friend!
Wow, wow, wow!!!! First off I am in love with your dried hydrangea's. They are stunning! It is a lime hydrangea that you have?? Then there is your card, OMGOSH! It is stunning!!!! I adore how you colored the hydrangea and those beautiful leaves. Love your color choices too. The background is just so soft and dreamy. I could never do that in a million years. lol Then we get to the little cutie next. Love those colors too. Yes, isn't it fun to add the texture with a piece of towel and a little colorless blending solution?! Just think fuzzy bear too. lol So fun and your card turned out so darling! Now I'm jealous that you were able to take a class with Kathy R.! How fun that must have been because I think she is a hoot! A very talented hoot to boot! lol Hugs, Brenda
What a little cutie in her cosy wool coat, Michele ... so sweet with her little winged friend ... and yummy with the background texture! Your dried hydrangea are gorgeous ... wonderfully full and round ... as indeed are your painted ones. The dimension and depth you created on this lovely card is fantastic! Hugs, Anita :)
Your hydrangea card is absolutely beautiful with wonderful colouring Michele x. Fabulous and fun textured coat on your adorable second card and love the dimension from the background too x. A great gift from your anonymous friend x.
Absolutely gorgeous Hydrangea...especially the leaves! It's really evident that you spent a lot of time on both cards...I love all the texture on this little girl's coat and your wavy die cut background is the perfect way to showcase the darling bird...very sweet card, my friend!
Beautiful coloration on that hydrangea - it’s exactly what mine looks like right now! I love the tan/green/pink/rose color that they are this time of year! They almost don’t look real but you captured it!
Hugs - Rachelle : )
Loving your beautiful cards, the hydrangea is stunning and I have always love the PI Stamps, love the background with all the texture .
Two fabulous cards! Your hydrangea card is stunning and I especially love the soft background you've created.
