Happy weekend eve! JUGS #768

For me, every day is Saturday - but I do look forward to having my working sidekick home on the weekend - but I thought I'd better get one more post in today before the 'games begin!'

It's stencil week over at Just us Girls #768 - wow, it seems like I've shared quite a bit of stenciling lately but I have one more to share today.  In fact, I recently made a card using this stencil - you'll see it HERE... but I splurged and added the Altenew Blossoming Bouquet press plate.  I'm not one bit sorry about it either...

... would you look at that gorgeous line art?  I never could have achieved this
look using those pencils!  I applied the color using the coordinating stencils and
voila!  A beautiful thank you ready to go out the door!

Now, before I go - you KNOW I can't just make one card per session.  Carol M. used a pierced paper for her card - see it HERE.  In fact, Marcia showed me a card she made [hint, hint] using the same paper.  It got me thinking about all the 'pierced' cover plates I have - could I stencil over those to get a similar look?  I think it worked pretty well!

Lil' Inkers: woodgrain plate - sorry it's no longer available.
PTI sentiment: Happy Mail

I often will add texture to these 'one layer' stenciled panels.  I never thought of going over the top of it - that's not to say I won't be adding that pierced paper to
my yard-long wish list! lol

Okay, my friends.  The boss is home early, and we're going to enjoy our time together and listen to the wonderful Springtime rain we're having - fingers crossed for a little thunder!  Hope you have just the weather you wanted this weekend, too!

Of course you can't make just one! Gorgeous twice is fine by me. The impression in your first card is very distinct, and I wouldn't have guessed it was stenciled. The second card is simply divine in the soft colors and the all-over piercing. I think it's my favorite. Enjoy your weekend!

Two beautiful cards. Those flowers on the first card are gorgeous and I love the colors you used. The second card is a great take on the pierced paper technique - lovely.

Two fabulous cards, Michele! I like the simplicity of the first with those elegant flowers. My favorite, though, is the second one with those sweet blooms and that darling woodgrain! Thanks for playing along at JUGs!

Two beauties Michele! I love the first card with the press plate...you are so right when you say you can't get that same intense look from pencils alone! The card is absolutely GORGEOUS!! And your 2nd card is as equally pretty with the stenciling over the cover plate piercing! What a great idea...you are always thinking my friend!! Have a great weekend! (We got a good soaking this morning too, but no thunder and the sun was out by the end of the day. More rain to come all day Sunday though and I know a little 19 month old that is NOT going to be happy now that he's discovered the great outdoors! Hope we all survive!! Hahahaha!! Hugs. :0)

Half the fun of card making is experimenting. I tried an EH piercing plate over a stenciled panel and love the effect it produced. Your two cards are beautiful as usual.

It's sunny but very chilly here at the beach. Still beautiful, but those snap peas will have to wait to be planted! I love both of your cards. The one layer floral is so gorgeous done with the press plate and stencil. Great move to add the plate to your collection. The second is so lovely. I love the soft stenciling by itself, but sometimes it needs an extra something. The pierced background looks wonderful. Love all the colors you've used as well.

Oh yay! Pretty cards. I think you are super clever to think of using a cover plate. Do you know they sell dies that create essentially perforated paper? That is if you didn't want to buy the paper (but I know for a fact that the paper isn't super expensive). Makes me kind of wish I had more floral stencils in my stash. But I know florals are not my forte...Hope you got a boom or two!

What a great idea! I have an altenew cover plate (inspired by you) and haven't used it for a while! I should get it out and give this a whirl! SO very pretty, both of them!

Another beauty using these stencils, Michele! Great detail! Stenciling on the pierced background was a fantastic idea and one I think I need to try. Have a great weekend!

Wow! Gorgeous press plate, and it's SO easy to see why it landed in your stash. Then again, your pierced card is pretty amazing too -- love the idea of adding the texture with the piercing plates

Gorgeous line art is right, Michele, and even more gorgeous with your color added. Thanks for sharing with us at Just Us Girls. Stenciling over the woodgrain worked out great, similar to when we emboss over our images. A little texture makes everything better. Usually.

Two gorgeous stenciled cards! I love the softness of the second and the dark lines on the first gives it an antique feel. Both so lovely!
