I have WAY more than 10 minutes a day to color and play in my craft room … what I forget to do is to share my play time with Kathy Racoosin and her wonderful 30 Day Coloring Challenge! I'm so happy I can also share my Summertime pond with the gang at The Flower Challenge!
My intentions started by stamping with the palest lavender ink … no-line coloring is not my forte, it turns out. As I'd left my Altenew Lotus in my MISTI it was easy to darken it, and darken it more!
I hadn't intended to take this all the way to a completed card, only just to do a bit of coloring. But a friend in need put me to work to do just that... here's where she took me...
I created a panel 1" larger than my Copic colored piece,
scoring at 1/2" from each side, and folding.
The front panel is the same size … of course the
die-cutting is done next. Then it is mounted
together with Score-tape for a strong hold.
It flattened to mail in an A7 [5x7"] envelope.
Of course when you make a shadow-box card, it can't be opened - a little sentiment on the back [and a personal note] did the trick.
I promise to leave you be for the weekend! Hope you have a lovely one … and I'll be seeing you next week, I hope!

Wow you were in the construction business today! Your box card gloriously showcases that beautiful flower! I am a total Kathy fan as well but spend more time watching her than doing!
Beautiful, the dimension you created with the box card really adds to the look, it really is like a pond. I love it xx
OMG! This is GORGEOUS, my friend! Love how this beautiful image is framed!
How lovely! Jo x
Beautifully framed with your box card, this is marvelous!
very elegant.x
Beautiful and bold, but your die cut frame softens it perfectly and accentuates all the beauty
This is beautiful! The shades of purple and green meld so well together. Love the idea of a box card too.
The deep colors and the framing make this card absolutely BEAUTIFUL Michele! This would brighten up anyone's day! Happy weekend!! Hugs. :0)
For something that was just going to be used for "coloring", this box card turned out beautifully. Love that purple lotus...Kathy's smashing technique gave it so much texture and personality.
Wow - love your box card with that gorgeous blossom!! The deep purples really make it pop!!
This is AMAZING!! Love the image and that awesome diecut frame. And then to make it a box card...super duper! I am purple-challenged, so I am doubly impressed!
You totally ROCKED this technique!! I LOVE the no line effect of that lotus and that purple you used!! Beautiful card!
What a wonderful idea to create a box card Michele! I hear you about leaving the stamp in the MISTI, I always do that when I am no-line colouring..... just in case lol.
The box makes the lotus look like it's floating. Beautiful card, Michele. Thanks for sharing it with us at The Flower Challenge.
Exquisite Copic colored lotus, Michele! Lavender is my favorite color and the different shades of the petals are so pretty. The brush strokes of your pond look like Monet's.
Love this box card!
Hideko xx
Beautiful card, Michele. So serene and elegant. I love how you made it a box card. The coloring is lovely and I think the frame elevates it wonderfully. Thank you for sharing how you created it. Hugs. :)
Beautifully done, the framing is perfect.
So eyecatching, Michele ... a gorgeous bloom that really shines in it's oval hemstich-framed box card ... beautiful! Hugs, Anita :)
Oh my gosh, this is absolutely GORGEOUS, Michele! I love how you colored the lotus and your background, which makes it looks like the bloom is floating on the water...WOW! Great idea to use an oval aperture, too...so elegant, and how clever you are to create a box card! You have really outdone yourself this time, my friend! xx
Wow what great depth and what marvellous colouring Michele....Hope you had a lovely weekend? x.
Beautiful watercolouring Michele. Your flower is gorgeous. And I love the smashed background! xx
I'm sorry for this late comment, Michele, been very busy with some renovation at home.
But your card is so beautiful, the flower looks like it's floating in water, so striking. And I love that frame, I just bought the square dies, the ovals are next.
Thank you for sharing with us at THE FLOWER CHALLENGE.
Stay healthy and safe.
