Last week, I spent a fun filled hour or two with my sweet friend Nora Noll of Creative Touch. We had been scouting out a technique or two for our crafty time … Therese Calvird to the rescue! More specifically her recent water-color play time with Altenew's newest Build-a-Flower - you'll find her wonderful video here [and you will learn more by watching it, than by me talking you through, believe me!]
I have PLENTY of gorgeous Altenew florals sets - but what I didn't have were the Altenew water brush markers. No worries - I had plenty of luck using the Altenew water color pan set by wetting a few of the cubes, and applying the paint to my stamps with a brush - then it was misted, and stamped!
Enough chatter! Here are my cards made using the Altenew Build-a-Flower Anemone, the second stamp in the layer, with the addition of the outline:
Before putting those supplies away, I HAD to have a bit of playtime with grey. and surprise a bit of blue, too!
There are those gorgeous Glass Glitter that
Therese enabled me to buy, too!!
Nora made twice as many cards as I did during our crafty chat - just by doing a bit of second generation stamping - SO smart! Please do pay her a visit - she used a different Altenew set than I have and her stamping was wonderful using the watercolor markers - can't wait to see her finished cards!
Thanks so much, Nora! It truly did help to see a friendly face, and craft while chatting away!
Let me know if YOU would enjoy a little video crafting, too - any time within reason will do!

I'm sharing the colorful one with the gals at The Flower Challenge - they are looking for florals from Summer or Winter depending on the hemisphere YOU live in!

Beautiful florals! Only you can make gray flowers gorgeous!
What a clever way to use watercolour. I have not used this technique before as I think it is unlikely to work when I do it (I struggle a bit with messy), but this is just wonderful. Love them both but I think my favourite would have to be the colourful one. I will definitely visit Nora xx
Gorgeous, Michele ... so artsy and dreamy ... the colours on the first are fabulous together! It's brilliant to see you do blue so beautifully ... Therese's glass glitter (I always think of her when I see it!) is perfect in the flower centres! So pleased you got to video-craft ... I'd be delighted to join you if we had anything but steam driven internet ... sadly we don't, so I'm imagining! Hugs, Anita :)
These are beautiful! You have patience to do that coloring...I am afraid I may not have that same patience, so I'll just look at your lovelies!
Your cards came out GORGEOUS!!! I LOVE the gray one. Did you put glitter in the middle? It shines!! What happened to the leaf one?? I know you did one? I had so much fun and have ideas for our next get together!!! Thank you for meeting up with me!!
Whoa! You used blue! And it pairs beautifully with the gray, especially on these flowers! Love the loose watery look you got with these!
Both versions are stunning Michele, it's amazing how well the paints held up to this technique and goes to prove that we do not 'need' it all (we just 'want' it lol). Nailed it my friend x
Beautiful cards, Michele!!! And so fun that you got video chat with Nora!!! YAY!
Okay, these are both amazing cards... but your first one has blown me away!!! WOW, what a stunner!!!
Oh, I love how you used your watercolors on both cards, Michele! Loving your gray and blue version so much, but both are really striking!
How nice that you were able to have a video chat with Nora while playing with your supplies, too...I'm a big fan of her, and I'm off to check out what she created :)
Gorgeous cards, Michele! I'm so happy for you and your friend to have connected this way and to have such beauty be the result. Wow! Thanks for sharing. Hugs.
Oh they are gorgeous!! I le the stamps and the colouring.. perfect!
Fabulous cards Michele. I think cards show when we have a good time making them and these definitely do. So happy you had a fun crafty session with Nora.
so very beautiful mf...glad you had some online fun at least!!
Have a great day.
xx Karen
Therese is always inspirational and, personally, I do believe you, once again, nailed her technique. Lovin' both incarnations of this card. The loose brilliance of the "summer" card and the very cool depth of the "grey/blue" card. Gorgeousness. Obviously, it didn't matter which medium you chose to use because they're both gorgeous.
Oh my goodness, these are swoon-worthy. Just absolutely gorgeous. I have so many Altenew sets I have yet to open (expenditures...) You have inspired me. Gotta try this technique!!! Today was the day I was supposed to go to visit my Michigan friend and make my way to you... some day.
All artsy and the loose colouring looks fabulous Michele. I am so glad you visually met up with Nora and had fun x. The colours are beautiful on both of the cards and loving the hint of blue.....x
Both Anemone cards are gorgeous, Michele! You did a fantastic job of water-color stamping! The warm color version and the cool color version have a different look and I love both of them. The gorgeous glass glitter is a wonderful finishing touch!
Hideko xx
STUNNING cards Michele. Love this free-flowing image ... looks amazing in both sets of colours. What fun to create with a friend on-line! xx
Did I tell you how much I love these two cards particularly the first ones. My colours always, just perfect. Thank you so much for joining us at The Flower Challenge and we hope to see you there again soon. Aileen DesignTeam
These floral cards are just beautiful Michele! You know when I met you, you told me that you don't colour and look at your feed! xoxo
