While I thought the leaf, or branch, looked like it might have been cut from N@'s banners, I went in a different direction. Hope you like it!
I used Wplus9's Tropic Fever trellis [no longer found in shop] to create a heat-embossed panel of water color paper the size I needed for my design. Distress Oxide inks [scattered straw, peeled paint, and forest moss] were my means of adding a gradation of greens. Then, I took it to my paper trimmer and cut it into four - cut the right edge at an angle to form two fish tails, instead of four. It would be just the trellis one might find in the tropics, right? The Stamp Market Tropical Blooms provided this large leaf that was stamped, and cut using the coordinating die. Unfortunately, they have discontinued making this set - I won't discontinue using it though! My 'awesome' sentiment is another one of those that comes with a matching die from Pinkfresh Studio's Lush Greenery set.
I'm using discontinued products today to show that, while we may be clamping down on spending, there are TONS of beautiful supplies in our stash that need love, too! I just know you have plenty in your own stash... why not follow my lead? If that doesn't work for you, there is PLENTY to love from my teamies at CTS … let's go see, shall we?
Thanks for spending a few of your precious down-time minutes with me today! xx
Using your word, this card is awesome, Michele. I love the shading of the greens and that extra large palm branch.
That gradient is, indeed, awesome...looks wonderfully textured with the stamping on it. Think you nailed the sketch, beautifully.
Soooooo pretty...fresh and fun. Love that sentiment...I need some more sentiments like that!
I, too, have made many discoveries in my stash; great to bring out those products that need some love! Your card: I LOVE it! Texture, soothing palette, sweet sentiment! Awesome: YES!
Fabulous card, I am still shopping my new bin stuff.
Indeed I do like it. Such a good card, love the colours too xx
Awesome indeed! Perfect colors and fabulous texture!
Well this is just oozing with prettiness! Good for you to dig into your stash. I have SO many things I want to put into those shopping carts, but have lots of stuff that needs some love!!
It's an awesome take on the sketch, Michele! Cutting out the leaf and making the negative piece into those bars would be nearly impossible with that little pieces :). Love the calming green tones!
I agree that we still need to love those stamps and dies that are not new but we just don't want to part with. Your card is AWESOME like it says! Love that pretty fern and the soft watercolors, my friend!
Fantastic card, Michele! As yours tend to be! :) Thank you for sharing! I've made a goal to use what I have for the past several months. It's fun, mostly! ;) Hugs and thanks for always inspiring with your wonderfully creative cards!
Having just passed Palm Sunday, this card is so fitting. Love the greens variations with embossing over! I love this sketch and how you’ve used it! Happy Easter, Michele!
Terrifically tropical, Michele ... delicious gradation of colour ... and such a lovely, delicate leaf! Hugs, Anita :)
Love it Michele!
Like it? I LOVE it, Michele! Your greenery is absolutely beautiful and I love how you used the ombre effect with your DOX inks on the banners! I also love how you created the 'Tropical Trellis', too! Really fantastic card, my friend!
Fabulous take on the sketch Michele! Stay safe! xo
Another wonderful creation. I LOVE the texture and the shades of green that you used, and the design you created by cutting the strips on an angle and placing them a slight bit apart... lush and lovely!
Love the beautiful gradation of soft greens and the heat-embossed pattern, Michelle! The combination of the trellis-like edges and the fern is awesome!
LOVE your take on the challenge, and your graduated smooshing is fabulous!
Wowza ... love this.
Oh this is stunning... I adore everything especially the pretty shade of green... Beautiful!
Great comment about using our supplies already in our stash Michele x.Loving the tones of greens and a creative way in which you did the fish tails. As always a fabulous way to interpret the sketch on your tropical card x.
This is gorgeous Michele! I love greens and always have - so calming, and I especially love the effect of the heat embossed pattern on the ombre watercolour. A great way to include lots of detail in a CAS card. I too find myself reaching into my 'oldie but goodie' pile at the moment; I'm trying to use up more of the papers and things that I've been hoarding and finding it's good to use things that haven't seen daylight in a while. I even took a leaf out of your book for my CAS(E) this Sketch challenge entry this week!
