Here is our October challenge:
My sweet husband bought me a laminator for Christmas a few years ago … honestly I didn't have a great amount of luck with foiling … but I dusted that baby off, and gave it a full day of try, try again!
I watched a few of the videos shared with us over at CAS Mix Up challenge post here. Having the best of luck with the 2-way glue pen, I managed to get pretty good results!
Foiling + stamping + die cutting
- I started with a few die cut stems/flowers
- dabbed on a bit of 2-way glue in the proper places
- waited at least 30 minutes for it to dry
- placed them on a piece of heavy cardstock
- added a sheet of heat-reactive gold foil - pretty side up
- ran it through my Minc! Voila!
Just in case you have difficulty seeing my foil:

This is CAS perfections Michele! I LOVE your design with the delicate gold foiled branches and your wonderful dotty border. FANTASTIC!! Thanks for being our Guest Designer at CAS Mix Up!! xx
Wowza, this is beautiful! Great job with the foiling....have not ever tried that, not sure I want to (ahem) add another dimension to my already-full craft room, LOL! I'll just enjoy your lovely creations, as well as those other crafty ladies'!
Fabulously CAS. Alas no laminator here...
I've got some new foil... I am just waiting for a spare minute to use it lol. Thanks for the wonderful inspiration and reminder again!
One would never guess you weren't an expert at this technique, Michele! Your shiny branch is so elegant and I love that die cut background. I'm glad we gave you an excuse to master that laminator and thanks to your hubby for giving it to you! Thanks too for being our Guest Designer this month!
Congrats on guesting Michele!! Is it funny that when I think of foiling, I think of ladies with squares of tinfoil folded all over their hair sitting under a hair dryer in a beauty salon? Your card is WAY prettier than that!
Congrats on your well-deserved Guest Designer spot, Michele! I love these delicate stems and flowers and how your foiling totally makes them the star of the show! I also love that you used your Hemstitch die for the square border...it's so elegant and perfect with your design! Really stunning card!
You have definitely perfected CAS! Your foiled element is gorgeous and I love the stitched border! So happy to have you joining us as GD at CAS Mix Up:)
Michele this is beautiful! So elegant and those pretty delicate branches look amazing on your stunning dot frame!
Oh this is so stunning! Perfectly CAS! The dotted frame is perfection, I'm gonna have to search for that and see if it needs to come live with me! Thanks for enabling, friend. I need to get out my foiling supplies too!
Looks like the foiling worked great for you. Beautiful card, my friend. Just so lovely! Congratulations on the guest designer spot. I hope you have a blast! Might have to look for that dotted frame die, now. It's lovely, too.
Subtle and beautiful, such a refreshing card filled with CLASS! Thanks so much for being our guest at CAS Mix Up! xxx
Wonderful CAS card. I've struggled too but last night had success with using VersaMark as my foiling method.
Love the simplicity of this classy design!
I know you weren't fond of that laminator but I'm glad you finally found a way to use it, Michele. Those little branches look wonderful in foil.
This is beautifully CAS and your foiling looks so pretty and delicate ..... I love it. Thank you for being our GD this month xx
I have a laminator gathering dust too, so if you can be brave enough to give it another go, I guess I'll get mine out again too! Just hope I have as much luck as you did as your card is absolutely BEAUTIFUL MIchele! CAS and just perfect!! :0)
Your foiling is pretty and delicate -- me? Not such luck... maybe I'll be inspired to try again...
Gaspingly gorgeous, Michele ... every single little element ... awesome shine, fabulous framing, deliciously CAS ... perfect! Hugs, Anita :)
The delicate gold foil branches are so pretty, Michele! You got great results with your 2-way glue pen and the Christmas gift from Tom! :-) The hemstitch die frame finishes the card perfectly. After seeing one of your cards with the die frame a while ago, I bought the square set, but I haven't had a chance to use it!
I'm so happy to have you as our Guest Designer this month!
Hideko xx
The only foiling I have done involves wrapping leftovers........ This is so delicate and beautiful!
