Happy Saturday, my friends! I thought I'd get a jump on Jill's latest Sketch on their PB&J YouTube channel! We're halfway through the series already - and I'll be so sad to see it end.
There was only one problem... I didn't own one. single. PB EDGER die! Of course, I had to find a work-around and I'm happy to report I DID IT!! [Please, don't think that I wouldn't rather use those edger dies - in fact, there is one on its way to me and I'm very excited about it!]
I pulled out a few word dies from Winnie & Walter. Their font is quite 'box-y' and ones that my limited fussy-cutting skills could work with. I laid it at an angle on a panel of Bristol card and used a light pencil to trace its edge. Here's what that looks like:
Before cutting, I used a straight edge to finish the cut line halfway through the word and edge to edge. After fussy-cutting it was very easy to erase the drawn line, flip it over and use my bone folder to flatten the edges and Bob's your uncle it worked!! I then cut two of the words from Bristol, blending brown on one and adhering it to the second for a little dimension.
Ready for a look? Here is a closeup...
BTW you do realize that mistletoe isn't just for Christmas - nor is this
darling PB Mistletoe stamp - thanks again, Marcia!
OH! I forgot to link Jill's Sketch:
A few more of those leftover die-cut hearts were perfect substitutes
for Jill's butterflies don't you think?
I was so pleased with the results that YEPPERS there is another!
This time using the lovely PB Heartsong clear stamp set.
Instead of butterflies or hearts I opted to do a bit more stamping on the
upper edge of the card front. In both cases I used scraps of thick card
to give the lower panel a little lift without requiring extra postage.
The team at As you See It Challenge were kind enough to choose
my very first entry as one of their favorites - thanks, ladies! And to thank them,
it's only right to play in their current challenge #340: Pesky Resolutions!
You may have guessed my resolution:
This year, my crafting resolution is
to find a way to use what I have
in my stash to try to 'work around' having to buy more!
You'll have to go to their website to see which of these cards will be playing along - hey! While you're there why not share your resolution in card form!
Have lots of crafty fun this weekend - thanks so much for stopping by!

Wow, Michele, these are fabulous! I so have to try this, and what a great resolution - I know it applies to all of us, lol. Love those gorgeous branches on the congrats! Thanks so much for playing at As You See It!
Well done! Love the finished look 👍
Lovely cards, as ever. Well done for finding a work around for an edge die. I would say you did and excellent job. It looks perfect xx
What a fun post with two incredibly fabulous and inspiring cards, Michele! You know how I adore the stamps and you do color them beautifully Love your work around, too. I can't say enough. It's a wonderful thing to use what you have. I'm similarly resolved and hope I can stick to it, although PB stamps are an exception to the rule.
You are so clever, as well as being an awesome fussy-cutter! I do love that bird image...so very tweet!
Look at you getting all handy and creative with your supplies! So super cute, Michele. That smooching couple reminds me of my parents and I love that darling little bird!
Both are fantastic cards and I think your resolution is one we could all adopt - me especially! Those big, bold word dies are superb and your colouring is fabulous. Thank you for joining in with us again at As You See It. :-)
Those kids are adorable and good for you for finding a way to use your word dies along the top of the card, Michele. And then again for the bird card. Beautiful job of coloring both.
Both PB cards are wonderful but there's something "chocolatey" about the first that has me craving some Hershey's! Congrats on your win at AYSI--I knew your card was a winner! And your resolution for 2025 has been mine for quite a while but i keep breaking it......
Your both cards are so sweet. I just adore them. The boy & girl kissing together is charming. Love your work Michele thank you for sharing 💖
Such a cool technique, Michele! I'm inspired to try it out! That's a very noble resolution. Let me know if you're able to keep it! Many crafters would find that an impossible challenge! Both cards are lovely, but I'm partial to the little kissers! Thanks for sharing your crafting resolution with us at As You See It Challenges!
You are so clever and you made this sketch work without the PB edger dies! I love the sweet couple with the kisses floating around! It's ADORABLE! And the Heartsong is so pretty with that sweet bird and the cut out sentiment! You are on a roll, my friend! Congratulations on your win at As you See It!
Perfection! I love them both!
Fantastic! Both cards are great but your fussy-cutting on the first takes the cake, Michele!
Amen to that Michele - we should all try to give more love to our current stash (even if we still can't resist continuing to add to it!) and I must say I love the effect of your creative edging on both cards - so effective! That sweet image on the first one is so cute and the robin in the second one makes for a fabulous centrepiece. So glad you shared and played along with us over at As You See It this week!
I'm giddy for you, Michele! These cards are just fabulous. I love how you found a work around for the edge die. You are just brimming with creativity and I am so grateful to you for sharing!
Adorable cards and your fussy cutting skills are just fine girl! You are quite the problem solver!
Talk about ingenuity! Give yourself a few pats on the back. Your cards are equally as awesome.
These both turned out soooo CUTE Michele and I just love how you came up with your own edgers! Sweet, sweet cards and beautiful coloring on both too! Hugs. :0)
