Often times, sympathy cards are the most difficult to make, but those most appreciated. While a death in the family, or that of a friend is not an occasion we enjoy, their life most certainly is meant to be celebrated, right?
I created this sympathy card using the gorgeous Altenew Lotus blossom, and coordinating dies. It was first stamped, then cut in two steps: first the flower then the leaf, so I could create a little dimension. The little 4.25" square card was made quite some time ago... just waiting for the perfect finish!
For The Flower Challenge #2:
the perfect words from Technique Tuesday
Though this is one of those gorgeous layering stamp sets, the outline, gold heat-embossed makes for a wonderful water-coloring opportunity ... this time, a simple bit of Distress Inks.
Thanks for the visit today ... I do hope you will come back, soon!
Perfect choice of flower for a sympathy design Michele!
Beautiful card, Michele, and your soft coloring works so well with this image.

Such a perfect flower, and I love the softness of your watercoloring with your DI's! Lovely CAS design, too! I can see you'll be creating a lot of cards with this stamp set, Michele...it's so pretty!
Sending you my best wishes for a very Happy Thanksgiving!
Hello Michele: You are right, sympathy cards are so difficult to make, they must be simple but also beautiful and you accomplished this perfectly on this gorgeous card.
This Lotus flower is colored beautifully and the way you framed it and adorned it simply with the gold embossing outline and sentiment conveys a message of peace.
Thank you so much for sharing with us at THE FLOWER CHALLENGE, hope you join us again next time.
One of the Altenew flowers I don't have. I love it with the green background and soft watercoloring. Another borrow, Michele.

Lovely. Sincere yet with a touch of hope thanks to the color. I agree, Technique Tuesday has good sentiments/fonts for sympathy cards. Hope your turkey was scrumptious.
Such a beautiful sympathy card. Very soothing colors.
Absolutely lovely Michele. Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
I absolutely dread making Sympathy cards, I never can work out what to put on them that won't seem 'too much'. Will have to remember this design as its absolutely perfect, even down to the soft colouring. So very glad you shared it with us at The Flower Challenge too!
A truly beautiful card, even in a moment of sadness it shines!
A Lotus flower is surely a great choice for a sympathy card. And you colored it so soft with the right amount of colors, Michele! Love the layout with the circle window which looks like a warm hug for the recipient. Have a great weekend! Hugs!
This is so STUNNING!! I love that pretty flower and the gold sentiment. I actually LIKE making sympathy cards. I don't know why. Maybe because I like to use flowers? I usually make them quite simple too. Anyway, I hope that does not make me morbid!!
Stunning, Michele! This is a perfect sympathy card. Love the single bloom and the soft colors!
