CAS[E] this Sketch #179

Chrissy Larson has treated us with a beauty of a sketch this week ...

... while it reads totally feminine, I've created a card that will do for a guy, too - I think... my bird-loving guy will love it, I'm pretty sure.

For Tom, and CTS #179:

Concord & 9th Love you, mean it.  and a Wplus9 Happy Bird -
I LOve navy ink!

I look forward to seeing your feminine, or masculine, version of Chrissy's sketch in the gallery!!

12 Kits of Occasions - A birthday to Die [cut] for!

Joyce, of Cards by the Sea, is our fantastic hostess this month - is that not the cutest theme?  A Birthday to Die [cut] For!!  Joyce loaded that package with more fun stuff than a girl could ask for!  Plenty of dies, fantastic pattern papers - I am so wishing I'd had a little more time to play!  Here's a peek:

Here are my cards ... plenty of ideas still running around in my head!  But I'm a wee bit late to the party, so I'd better hurry!

I have adored this circular birthday greeting since the very first time Joyce used it ... SO happy to have one to play with!  In case you can't see it, I've created a cupcake, and this is the view from above ... with the little flame?  maybe?  =]

Next, I've taken this opportunity to use a new background stamp ... and added a few of Joyce's balloons to the mix.

Just when you think this one was WAY too easy ... think again!  There are two dozen little itsy bitsy pieces of foam holding that baby on here!  Let's not forget the selective choice of letters to remove, and a way to keep the others in!

LOve this cover plate!!

Just one more today - another attempt at humor:

What did one birthday cake say to the other?
"What's one more candle?
It's the years you should be worried about!!!"

Pa dum dum!  [is this thing on?!]

Joyce you've put together a terrific kit, and if I weren't knee deep in life right now,  you'd be sick of me about now!

Please run by the 12 Kits of Occasions blog post for all the incredible cards from my team-mates - they're amazing I'm telling you! - and a list of supplies we're lucky to play with!

Ellen Hutson's Mood Board + Share the LOve with Winnie and Walter!

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Ellen's Mood Board for the Share the LOve week with Winnie & Walter has been staring me in the face for too long - it's time I put ideas onto paper, peeps!

Using a few papers from my stash, the perfect die cuts from Essentials by Ellen's Be-You-tiful, another Take a Bow by Winnie & Walter, and one little dot of red to bring attention to those gorgeous red shoes -  I'm guessing you won't have trouble figuring out which of the photos inspired me  =]

Look closely and you'll find a few little baubles - one of the perks of ordering from W&W
The black/cream papers are from Canvas Home Basics,
MFT Peekaboo Wonky Windows from E.H. and Fuse Green cardstock

Mood after playing cards today ...

Winnie & Walter Winner!!!

Good morning, my friends!

Late last night I put my Tom to work choosing one comment [by number] from each of the four weeks - an astonishing 196 comments in all, my wonderful friends!  We then created little raffle tickets with those names, and Tom chose the winning ticket from a hat!!  Seemed the simplest fair way of all, to us ... so without further ado, here is our winner:

Barb Ghig of Barb's Studio Creations!!

Congratulations, Barb!!  I know you will make wonderful cards with your newest Winnie & Walter goodies!!!

Thank you, a million times, for all the love you've left, my friends ... I'm sending heaps right back to you!

Freshly Made Sketches w/ ColourQ

My last card for the week comes in the prettiest colors a girl could ask for from ColourQchallenge #347:

I've used the wonderful sketch Narelle created for Freshly Made Sketches #242 as a fantastic guideline:

Now for my card!

Another little darling daisy from W&W, colored with copics, blinged up a bit with WoS and white dots using my new white Gelliroll pen!!  That cute little sentiment is from Neat and Tangled.

Have a fun and fantastic weekend, my friends!!

Share the Love Week!

share the love graphic Essentials by Ellen 2

Who in their right mind would pass up the chance to do a 'mash up' with Winnie & Walter, and Ellen Hutson??!!  Not this girl, I'll tell ya!  I'm gaga over both of these companies!

Week 1:  Floral!  [have I told you lately that Hydrangeas are a favorite?]  Julie's Mondo hydrangea, and one little leave + W&W's In Bloom: Addie's Garden = instant smiles [by way of The Big, the Bold, and Friends stamps & cutaways!]

Heat embossed, and colored with Distress Ink: shabby shutters, peeled paint, and dusty concord!

Day two:  Sentimental!!  It's all about the words!! [have mentioned that I first wanted to write sentiments for greeting card companies before I started making cards?]  NO doubt this mega In a Word: Hi was getting top billing ... with a side of chicken Francaise - from 12 Days by Julie, and 12 Days Companion Greetings by Julie!!

A little embossing - not real chicken wire, or nest material,  but close enough, right?

Day 3:  Background building - random stamping isn't as random as it sounds, but I was pleased with the result using this darling Daisy from In Bloom:  Addie's Garden, the perfect words from The Big, the Bold, and the Happy, and Christmas Scribbles by Julie [a careful little snip never hurt any stamp!] and TOTALLY fabulous word die by Julie!

That gorgeous yellow is Fresh Ink pigment ink - in memory of my first trip to Impress last year!
Altenew Crisp Ink - Evening Gray, and a snippet of gray cardstock.

I'm aware that we have reached Day 4, but you'll have to wait until my final Leading Lady post on Saturday to see my Transparent card!  Hope to see you then!

Thanks for spending a bit of your day with me today, too!  xx
