I had SOOOO much fun recreating some of my Dad's station wagons and what better time to add some sparkle than now?? SSS is looking for a bit of sparkle in their Wednesday Challenge! Come on let's go cut down a Christmas tree...
SSS - Vintage Christmas Station Wagon with real wood panels!
SSS Stitched Slopes and Hills c. 2014! and SSS Gifts of Love c. 2015!!
Gold embossing, and Diamond Stickles for the sparkle!
My dyno label maker for the TREES sign.
Here are a few more:
I had just cut a few of these cute ribbon panels from The Greetery - a
road this cute would be well traveled!
Just in case you're wondering where all the passengers are:
My mom's favorite movie was Cheaper by the Dozen - my dad was undoubtedly relieved when I was the last, coming in at number 9!
Here is my favorite line from the film:
"I have to go visit Mrs. Murphy!!"
In my mind that is exactly where all the passengers went!

Oh my gosh....we had one of these too!! You've managed to capture a fun retro vibe in all of these!!! Love them all! And I'll bet that at #9, you were a lucky little girl...spoiled, maybe?!
Oh, my gosh, I love these cards so much I could just freak out! Growing up my family always had a station wagon, and Rich and I had the cutest little Falcon station wagon in the early days, too. I could go way down Memory Lane with this one. I love your colors and trims. Station wagons were the best, but I guess they all turned into SUVs. Dang, Michele. Got to love those polka dot trees and the ribbon road, the little puffs of smoke from the tail pipe. I can't even... I have to stop. Oh, and I love Cheaper by the Dozen!
Oh my goodness, these are oodles of fun! The aunt and uncle we always vacationed with usually had a station wagon. My cousin and I would sleep in the back when we went camping! Love them all but to polka dot mountains would be the route I want to travel!
Very fun... both the card and the memories!
Adorable cards, and a terrific ode to your dad! Yes, I believe they all to see someone, or maybe they're cutting down another tree for downstairs?
LOVE your station wagons! They look amazing. I was one of 6 and we had a Dodge van that my dad retrofitted to become a quasi camper. It had a mini sink, a long cushion "bed" that converted into a table for us to eat at. Oh the memories! I don't think I saw that movie. Or if I did, I don't remember that quote. Michele, I sure appreciate you and your creativity.
How fun are these cards...super fun.
I have had my eye on that wagon... your makes with it are absolutely delightful!. The first is my absolute fav, but the second reminds me of my Aunt Ethel's car, which was not a wagon, but that fab turquoise on her "heavy Chevy" with that strip of silver was just like hers. I love everything about these wonderful cards...
Such great cards and a great reminisce, love the string holding the tree onto the roof. a great little detail. Wow, youngest of 9, that makes you very special. I have a friend who was youngest of 9 too and she definitely did not want any children of her own xx
OMG...absolutely wonderful three old timey station wagon Winter scenes of families on a Christmas tree cutting adventure!!! My best friends family of 6 daughters had a station wagon that looked exactly like the wagon in your 2nd card:-) Lots of memories..when my friend and her oldest sister were old enough to drive it was full of teenage giggly girls having fun doing fun school activities:-) TFS your memories and awesome cards, my friend. Happy Holidays..Love and Hugs..Nancy
Remember when the rear seat faced backwards? I loved to sit there and wave at the cars behind us. Great cards, Michele. Brings back road trip memories.
OMGosh, these Christmas cards are way to cute Michele! I LOVE the Station Wagon cars! I used to have a Station Wagon, love it. That was the mini van for the day back then. And much needed for a large family like yours Michele! lol Very clever to use a dyno labeler for the tree sign, looks too cute. Cheaper by the Dozen was a great film, I watched it when I was a youngin' but don't remember much of it now. I need to watch it again. I loved all those movies back in the day. Also loved Ma and Pa Kettle-I think that is what it was called. Movies about Ma & Pa Kettle? Know them??? Anyway, I digress....love each Station Wagon on each card, they are all fabulous my sweet friend! Hugs, Brenda
I love all the versions of this classic station wagon, Michele! Wow does that bring back memories!
Oh these cards are all so cute! Such an adorable car die!
Oh I LOVE the station wagons--how nostalgic! My fave is the second card--that handsome turquoise color says it all.
Wow, all these three vintage wagon cards are awesome, Michele! I especially LOve your Dad's station wagon with real wood panels! They look so real. The hills, the trees sign, the ropes tying the three and the exhaust gas make the scene so lively and fun. The creative and cute ribbon-panel-road is so fun! I googled "cheaper by the dozen i have to go visit mrs. murphy's"! ;-)
Hideko xx
These are beyond adorable! We had a wagon when my kids were little.....they camped in the way back and built forts and played on every road trip we took! Seat belts? Nah.....
OMG...Thank you, Thank you Michele...we just received your adorable filled with memories turquoise and white station wagon card:-) It is even cuter IRL!!!! Wishing you a wonderful Christmas making more fun memories, my friend. Love and Hugs...Nancy
