Good weekend-eve my friends! My Doodle Bug sneak-peek is coming soon, but I had to share the fun I had with Wplus9's Just Breathe set this week. I hope you all sped over to Dawn's blog to see that little torn vellum sentiment bit and stayed to see the gorgeous cards she made using her 'no fail' water coloring technique! I embraced it and OH MY GOODNESS it was fun!
Ready. Set. GO! Here are the Distress Oxide inks used today...
Look at the card above... see anything different about it?
I fussy-cut the main image and used the Distress Glaze to set the colors -
wish I'd done them all! I was very careful cutting so I could use the background, too, which has had a dry-embossed treatment with SU Tasteful Texture.
This Just Breathe set has it all: a bird, a rose, gorgeous sentiments in beautiful fonts! I had so much fun that I brought out Wplus9's Flora and Fauna 3 set again [sorry Bonnie!]
Stamped, water washed, oval cut and the balance embossed with SU Timeworn Type
Okay. Last one - I had to reach for this gorgeous butterfly to pop over the
background I made with the extra inks! It was also treated to a little type
using Vintage Ephemera.
If you've had a bit of time with me this morning, I appreciate it - especially now I know my posts are not always delivered to those of you who were kind enough to subscribe. Not sure what I'll be changing in the coming months, but hope you hang in there with me... I can't imagine what I'd do if I couldn't share my makes, and also see what you've created!
All of my cards today started with Fabriano Hot press 25% cotton watercolor paper - what a difference it makes!
Oh my gosh Michele...I didn't want this post to end!! Every one of your cards are STUNNING!! So much so that I went right over to Dawn's store and ordered the Just Breathe set! (and maybe one more!!) I loved the set after watching her video last week, but loved it even more after seeing all your beautiful cards this morning!! I didn't get the Flora & Fauna 3, but that's definitely going on my wish list!! Lovely, lovely cards my friend!! Hugs and can't wait to see you next week! :0)
How lucky for you that this sweet stamp set winged it's way to you, Michele! I'm sure the F&F3 set was glad to welcome him to your collection. I'm still in hopes that I will find one of these sets to fly into my house! You have done a wonderful job with this technique and I love each and every one of your creations! Each is unique and beautiful in it's own right!
WOW, you DID have fun! What I love most about Dawn's videos is how 'doable' they are. You sure got WOW! results! Love these gorgeous cards! Your color choices are fabulous. I love the oval bird the best!
I just read you saw Dawn's video and wanted that stamp and here it is in all it's glory, Michele. You have so much control of those finger daubers and all the color came out in the right place and beautifully so. Loving the embossing on a couple of the backgrounds.
Wow, these are gorgeous, Michele. I am not generally a bird fan for stamping…but your cards could make me change my mind. I can tell you had fun, it comes through in the beauty of the cards.
I'm embarrassed to say how long I've been lurking here admiring your cards. I did watch the video earlier this week, then pinned it and will love to try the technique. The results are jaw dropping, especially with the beautiful stamps you've showcased here. My jaw is dropped.
THUD..... okay I'm back after picking myself and my jaw up off the floor. I have no words, well maybe one... SPECTACULAR!!!
