Is it CAS enough? CAS Mix Up July 2022

I am my own worst critic when it comes to judging my own use of CAS design!  I sat down today to make another card for CAS Mix Up because I really hadn't given much in the line of water-coloring on my first card.   But then this happened:

Even I know that there isn't enough white space.  I went overboard with
the layers.  Even though I love the card, it just isn't CAS enough to enter.

Back to the drawing board!

Another pretty painting - but WHY can't I leave well enough [and in this
case leave the white space] alone????

It's better, and I won't be one bit mad if it doesn't make the CAS cut - I always say I'm here to play, have fun and most of all support my favorite challenges!  Besides that, this beautiful Scarlet Tanager is winging his way to a friend who needs him!

Wplus9 Flora and Fauna vol. 3, and 4.  Water colored with distress inks -  with color guidance found on the internet at All About Birds.

Two beautiful cards! I wish that a Scarlet Tanager would visit our yard in real life!

Well I LOVE THEM BOTH, my friend! They are CAS enough for me! That sweet butterfly is enjoying those gorgeous flowers and that scarlet tanager is GORGEOUS! I saw a real one once and he was breathtaking even to my 12 year old self. I never forgot him. Thanks so much for sharing with CAS Mix Up!

Maybe not totally CAS Michele, but both cards are absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! You are getting to have some pretty mad water coloring skills my friend, and both of these cards are showing off those skills to perfection! And I seriously doubt anyone on the CAS team is going to chew you out for entering 2 such beauties! Lovely, lovely cards my friend!! Hugs. :0)

Well, I happen to think they're both perfectly lovely! I still see lots of white space on both of them too. I hope your fabulous Scarlet Tanager lifts your friend's spirits <3

Oh my, these are both so very pretty, even if they aren't CAS enough. I know CAS is so hard to achieve, what to leave off? But man oh man in your effort to get there you've created some beauties! Thanks for sharing and letting us enjoy your efforts!

You're right about having fun and doing what you love, Michele. Your watercoloring is fantastic and the cards are gorgeous. I'm the opposite of you. My CAS cards seem to be very minimal sometimes but that's okay with me and some other challenges I enter.

I think everyone has their own idea of what CAS means, maybe there should be a little bit more white space but hey! I love both of these cards. Your watercolouring looks amazing, I love those beautiful blooms on the first one, and the bird on the second design looks stunning. Thank you for playing along with CAS Mix Up!

I am lacking the CAS gene so I'm not one to judge. However, I do know an utterly gorgeous card when I see one, and I see two of them here!

Ah I feel your pain Michele! Always guilty of adding 'a little bit' here and there - until the little bit becomes a lot everywhere!
These are two beauties tho and I like them both - LOTS!
Thanks for sharing in our gallery at CAS Mix Up and thank you for supporting our challenge! x

These are both wonderful, as your cards always are. I completely understand your issue. The decision about whether they are CAS enough this month will be Linda's as she is our host. I am staying quiet on the subject xx

Both are watercolored so beautifully, Michele! I would say the Scarlet Tanager card is definitely a CAS card. Fabulous job of turning a (generic?) bird into a Scarlet Tanager!

Both cards are absolutely gorgeous, Michele. The definitions of CAS out there have a wide berth, so you could get away with the second, maybe. But who cares? Your cards are over the top gorgeous, so play away. The CAS police may slap your hand, but you won't have to do jail time.

I would call both of these fabulous cards CAS. To me CAS leaves somewhere for the eyes to rest on and you have provided that here. And swoon over the WPlus9 images!
