After stamping a panel with a gingham background stamp, I made my own stencil using a die, and a piece of laminated junk mail … I so love recycling!
Placing my stencil over that stamped panel, I used Versamark embossing ink to add sticky ink, then I added clear embossing powder, and heated it... here's a closeup of my finished card ...
Because my ink was still wet, the gingham caught the powder, too! In the end, unless you're holding it your very own hands, I guess it is pretty subtle … but I like it!
I hope you do, too, Viv!! xx
My little bunny-eared girl is that sweet Suzi's Easter from Jane's Doodles
Awww, cute! I like the little patch of grass she's wiggling her toes in!
I see it, I see it!! And I love it too! Very subtle, but it's still definitely there and looks fabulous over the gingham! And of course that little girl is just too sweet...ADORABLE Easter card my friend!! :0)
Such sweetness....this little bunny-eared sweetie is adorable!
I am sure your heat embossed sunray using a die to make your stencil is subtle, but shiny and very pretty as an accent for your gingham background. Love sweet Suzi's bunny ears too. I can tell you worked at getting a photo showing the shine...thanks! So please you joined us at CAS Stencil. Hugs..Nancy
So sweet! Jo x
Yeppers, it may be subtle, but to the person holding the card, it means a wonderful added detail. You are showing your creative genius again my friend. And I thank you! What a bright and cheerful card. Something much needed these days! Hugs!
This is adorable Michele, and I can definitely see the embossing over the gingham. What a clever idea with great results. Your little Easter bunny girl is so cute!
That's some awesome upcycling. Such a cute card, can't go wrong with gingham. That Jane's Doodles set is so adorable.
Love this technique....and I LOVE that gingham, so springy! How cool to upcycle something into a stencil, very clever!
Oh Michele I DO!! It's just lovely -and you're too clever with that sunray die to make the stencil in the first place - but the embossing powder gives it such a great shine! Love it. Thanks for joining my challenge at CAS Stencil, means a lot! xx
Michele, you have the most creative ideas. I'm telling you - a rolodex is in order! This is such a sweet card and those bunny ears? Melting :)
How cool to add that bit of shine with your stencil Michele. Fabulous.
Yes, I definitely like it, what a good idea and the subtleness is what makes it so cool. Love that little girl with her bunny ears and the lovely yellow gingham. I am so glad you followed through and joined us for the heat embossing challenge, this card is excellent xx
I like it, too, but that may be because I love yellow and heat embossing. The yellow is such a lovely contrast to the cute girl's dress.
So cute, Michele. Minus the darling girl it gave me an idea for a card.
I didn’t pick up the embossing when I saw this on IG. It’s so pretty! And woohoo for putting that junk mail to good use.
Beautiful! Love it, Michele, from the gingham, cute little Suzi and all that wonderful shine :o)
Always great when we can stretch the use of our supplies. Your die-cut make a great stencil and I can see the shine in your pictures. What a fun card with your sweet little girl and all that gingham! Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Stencil.
Subtle and so sweet, Michele ... not only is that little bunny eared girl adorable, the embossed, sunny, gingham-y shine she's against is delicious! Hugs, Anita :)
Looks amazing Michele and worth the effort, loving that subtle effect!
WAY! cool!! I need to CASE this idea!!
Your darling little bunny eared girl makes me smile BIG!
