For #21 STS - no, I promise I didn't make 21 cards for one challenge - silly =]

Sketch! and #21 is brilliant... way to go Lori Turner... you've left the creative door wide open on this one =]  I spent a late night putting my own spin on this one a few [uh, maybe too many] times =]  The morning light seems to like it!

Take # one:

A.K.A. what I did with a stamping disaster =[  I remembered a class w/Jenn R.

and a very cool bicycle.  Totally love this daisy from MFT's On Sale bin [and may just make more mistakes with it in the very near future =]

Re-gift? NO! Re-cycle? YES, yes, yes!

Virginia's View Challenge #4 has been posted!  When I read the challenge description, I could not have been happier!  I am a [self proclaimed] recycling wonder.=]

We received an invitation to a wedding and, to be honest, I've never seen anything like it... so many pieces, parts, and envelopes!  Gorgeous. The cardstock was just scrumptious; the colors dreamy and creamy.  I knew in a moment that I fully intended to recycle this.  No time like the present!!

 You can see that there weren't many of the parts that I couldn't use - including being able to incorporate their names in the die-cut LOVE.  Perfect. The only think not recycled is the addition of the kraft cardstock. Add one lovely length of ribbon, and a bottle of wine, and VOILA ~ a wine tag!!

There is a hidden pocket for a check [just in front of the daisy] as well =]

Sketch #78 is just so simple yet it gets my creative juices flowing.  Here is my second installment:

This little Ali Edwards "So Sorry" sentiment stamp has gotten used many times over the years - 

as has the Cottage Leaf die from Memory Box.

However, this is my first card made with SSS Smoke cardstock... I think I love it =]

Memories and the corners of my mind

It dawned on me this morning that I've completed my first month of blogging!!  Wow!! It has been fun making so many wonderful new friends!  Thanks for all the handholding and messages of encouragement and "at-a-girls." You are the best friends a girl could ask for.  I only wish we all lived on the same [very huge -international] block.

I've made my last Wida-inspired card for the CASE Study challenge #193. She's leaving the team but will continue to be someone that I'll follow because I love her sense of style, and humor =]

For you, Wida - thank you for giving me a creative kick in the pants =]

Love that the top layer is wonky - like the corners of my mind. lol

More than words [of wisdom]

One of our nephews has graduated from high school this week.  This kid is just out-of-the-ordinary cool. He may have been the last kid in school to have a phone or a car but he earned every penny for both working on a landscaping crew.  He's a bit country, but loves his dad's 70's rock and roll.  Best of all? He isn't ashamed to be seen with grown-ups. For instance, I knew he'd think it was great when I picked him up in my 1992 Toyota Camry for a trip to Krispy Kreme's as the old girl was about to roll over 200,000 miles =] That trip for donuts became an annual tradition at Christmastime for three years in a row.

Today, his parents are celebrating Mitch's graduation with just what he asked for: a weenie roast over an open fire in the back yard.  Yep, that's Mitch.

So, as I sat down to make him his graduation card, and tried to get all philosophical, I couldn't think of just the right words.  He seems to have this life thing pretty much down.  Here's Mitch's card:

Inside? Some cash, and "Well done - congratulations!" Enough said. 

[Except to say that I wish I still had my Camry - when I sold her on Craig's List she had 220,000 miles and I had six offers in 10 minutes!] I'm also entering his card to the CAS(E)this Sketch challenge #78.
