FMS #597 and Peace on Earth Christmas #45

Jacquie's Sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #597 is so fun - and her
card, and the inspiration at Peace on Earth Challenge #45 inspired me to reach for an older set from Waffle Flower Craft to make my own card - AND add to my Christmas card stash!  How fun is that?

WF The Season, and Greenery dies, PTI Love to Layer: Torn edges dies

You'll notice that Jacquie's Sketch uses vertical and horizontal stripes - I used these stamped stripes from The Stamp Market to indicate them on my card.   How about a closeup of Santa's tattoo...

I was delighted to find a tropical Santa in my stash!!  His sea-shell-boat is a pretty fun substitute for that fabulous sailboat in the Peace on Earth photo!

Thanks for dropping by!

Freshly Made Sketches #579

Jen Timko is our host over at Freshly Made Sketches this week - she has given us such a fun Sketch for inspiration!

I hadn't played with my favorite bear in an age - he was out on my desk for another challenge but fit so well in Jen's oval!

I have a few friends with April birthdays - bee-day should count!

As crafty time often goes around here, another bear appeared...

and another!!

You'll notice another of those darling blooms from my class at
The Stamp Market!

You'll have to head over to Freshly Made Sketches to see which bear makes his appearance there ... btw why not play with Jen's Sketch and add a bear card of your own while you're there!

A snippet to share with Freshly Made Sketches #548

I had just enough left of my emboss-resist pine panel to add to a card front - the FMS548 Sketch by Jacquie provided the perfect home for it...

I even treated my sentiment strip to a little wash of color!  The pinecones come from another
oldie but goodie from Altenew c.2015.

I have to give Dawn at Wplus9 the idea for using this torn vellum.  She used it here, and it was love at first sight!  Something else to fall in love with again, and again?  Ranger Platinum embossing powder - always smooth, gorgeous color.

I'd better send this off to the gallery now.  Thanks for stopping by!  It gives a rainy day all the rainbow a girl needs!

Freshly Made Sketches #536

Karren's Sketch [and adorable card] made it impossible to resist playing along at Freshly Made Sketches this week!

I have a set of circle dies from Wplus9 - could be my very first die purchase of all!  I picked three and went to work filling the spaces... MFT's You Keep me Afloat bunnies worked their charm!  [and their dies are on sale right now!]

The outside sentiment is a piece from this MFT set that I snipped from the original.
I had my way with the inside sentiment...

Thanks, Karren, for the fabulous Sketch!  It's been far too long since I've played along at FMS!  The design team has a gallery-full of inspiration, too - come play!

A bit of play time!

The best part of having all my assignments done ahead is being able to 'play cards' with a few of my favorite Challenges ... enter FMS465...

I have just the old tag die, and new dies to make this work!

OOPSie Daisie... forgot the string!

With a little planning, one can always use the negative for another card... this one was embossed after cutting the Holly Jolly for my card, and is heading over to Let's Squash It!  They are looking for an embossed piece, with die cut, or fussy cut.  Hmmm think this fits the bill?  Even if it doesn't, it's always fun to play!

Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!

Another box card ~ for FMS400

We had a short 3-day road trip this weekend, crossing the gorgeous Mackinac Bridge, heading North to Canada, and then a wonderful drive South along the Lake Huron coastline - for the most part, in Ontario, Canada.   We always think Lake Michigan is the best of all the Great Lakes, since we're so close - Huron, you've become my second favorite of them all!

An idea percolated in my brain while riding …  I couldn't wait to put that idea to paper for Freshly Made Sketches' 400th Sketch celebration …

… a landscape box card!  I hope you've had a chance to watch Shari Carrol's video - it was the guide for the birthday card I made for my husband last week!

 Here are a few closeups...

and a peek at how I add a sentiment:

Hope you like it, FMS designers … you've inspired so many cards over the years, and I've loved playing along with your challenge, and so very honored to win a few, too!

Congratulations on your 400th Challenge!  Cheers to the next 400!!
