Somehow, Friday's fun got saved for Saturday - but that's okay with me! I'll just take a moment of your weekend!
I received the most generous gift from my cousin Tracy - she did a little craft-room-cleanup and found a hand full of embossing folders to share with me - aren't I the lucky one??
Thank you so much, dear cousin! I hadn't inked up an embossing folder in some time - I forgot how much I loved it!
First the positive side - then the negative, of this sweet folder from
My Diamond Press ... both inked with Lemoncello CP ink,
and donned with this sweet Cutplorations Flutter-Zen 1 layering die, and a sweet sentiment from Pinkfresh's Floral Notes set that I used for my TFC cards.
Before I leave you, a few embossed panels I played with, but only shared on Instagram @mfergu01 ... I've done some creative inking on two panels created with Altenew's Beautiful Bergenia 3D embossing folder... and a few very old VersaMagic chalk inks!
Before you think I'm the talent behind this technique - I must
give credit to Erum Tasneem! You can watch her create a most beautiful card here:
https://youtu.be/3o2stiHFyDE
As I had less luck keeping my background 'clean' I put my panel back into
the embossing folder, adding a bit of ink to the raised area and pressed again.
I also went in with a damp brush, and a bit of ink, too. Much easier than you might think!
Okay, that's enough fun for today ... enjoy your weekend, my friends!

What happy and vibrant first two cards, with a striking technique. How kind of your cousin to gift you such a sweet embossing folder. 'Wow' to the 3D embossing bergenia folder and what stunning cards, both of them Michele x.
Gorgeous cards, Michele - you made these folders shine!
What you do with embossing folders never ceases to amaze me...and the yellow (sigh!). Absolutely gorgeous. Wish I hadn't given away my chalk inks now.
I love all 4 of these equally. they are all perfect, thank you. Lucky you to receive such gifts, if they were mine I definitely wouldn't be parting with them xx
All I can say is WOW.
Okay, the next time we get together you need to show me how you did these! WOWEE!!
WOW they are all stunners, Michele.
Absolutely stunning... You know that I 'need' to get that Bergenia EF now lol.
You have a beautiful way with embossing folders, michele. The first two cards are so bright, sunny, and cheerful. Love. Then to see the 3D embossed cards up close. Whoa, those are stunning. So admire your cardmaking talents.
You have gotten such wonderful results with inking these embossing folders! So smooth and even and the bright yellow is so cheerful! Love that butterfly! Your panels are amazing! Such deep embossing and wonderful coloring. Again I wish I lived next door so I could see how you do that! Have a good rest of the weekend, my friend!
Lucky you to get free embossing folders!! You made GREAT use of them too Michele as both cards are absolutely beautiful and so bright and cheery!! Love the addition of the vellum and the butterflies too! And your Altenew embossing folder cards are FABULOUS and I'm totally in LOVE!! Maybe Wednesday you can give me some tips...if we don't get the 6 inches of snow they're talking about!!! Grrrrrrrrr!!!! (Start saying some prayers!!) Hugs. :0)
You've been blessed! And now you bless us with these beauties -- gorgeous folders make gorgeous cards, along with your amazing inking
I see some enabling going on here! Wow, what wonderful cards you have made. Love all of them and now need the embossing folders. :-)
Oh my... Love those butterfly cards... I love those butterfly dies, and you have used this one so beautifully. The Bergenia EF is already in my cart. Now I need you to tell me how you added the color. To the EF first, or after on the already embossed image... I can't stand how much I love these... xx
These are all so beautiful!! I would love to know how you got the chalk in on the embossed piece. Mine dont turn out that perfectly!!!
The yellow dry embossed backgrounds are so pretty, Michele! The patterns of the butterflies go so well with the tiny flowers.
The Bergenia 3D embossed cards are breathtaking! "Creative inking" means "using a magic wand"? ;-)
Hideko xx
Lemoncello could be the best name ever for an ink! The butterfly cards are glorious! And I have no idea how you got all the flowers inked in so many different colors.......so I will just sit back and enjoy them!
You have performed some serious magic with your new embossing folders, Michele...WOW! It's hard to pick a fave, but I must say the last card is over the top GORGEOUS! I hope your cousin stops by here to see what you've created with her gift :)
Maybe the ink is the secret to getting such great coverage. That Lemoncello worked beautifully to add little posies to your card, Michele. The other two are beyond gorgeous.
Gasp!!! Excuse me while I choke... Oh Michelle these are amazing! The embossing is incredible and the colouring... WOW!! The detail is wonderful.
WOW - I can't believe how beautiful that Altenew embossing folder is - and your light touch with the coloring is all that is needed to produce a truly gorgeous effect! These are stunning! I just added these to my wish list!
Hugs - Rachelle : )
How fresh, zesty and deliciously spring-like that first pair of butterfly cards are with the dainty little background blooms, Michele ... perfect with the vellum sentiment panels! Awesome soft shading and colouring on the second duo ... who knew an embossing folder could be so beautifully used ... well, you, clearly! These are stunning! Hugs, Anita :)
These are all so gorgeous my friend! So much eye candy! xo
so totally gorgeous...love, love your results mf!! wow
xx Karen
Hello, I have fallen in love with this card.. I followed the link you provided and I don’t find the tutorial for this card. Could you please provide it again? 1 would really appreciate it very much!
Does this only work with mixed media Inks?
Cause I don’t have any and I don’t know what they are compared to my regularinks for stamping.
