Inspired By #172 - Happy Retirement!

Happy Retirement is our theme for IB172!  I'm very fortunate to be retired - I'm even more fortunate not to be stuck on a deserted island like this guy!

I drew my inspiration from that little palm tree on our key-chain charms - and the color!

However, I have to say he looks happy as a seagull with a French fry!

Now let's go see what the IB team has to say about retirement...

Fun, love the edits...did you add the eyes to the "U"? And life is much better than day.

I might not mind being on a deserted isle for a little while, but then again I noticed his isle is pretty dang small and no room for craft supplies!! But he does look content and is just perfect for this challenge!! Cute, CUTE card Michele!! Hugs. :0)

First, let me say that the background on your card is amazing! AND your little dude looks perfectly content to be stranded on his desert island...a book and some snacks? Well, there needs to be some craft items there, I guess! Otherwise, it's ADORABLE!

Aaah, yes. Retirement is our gift for knocking ourselves out for decades. I'm certainly enjoying mine. As is this isolated little guy...maybe that seagull will stop by occasionally and say, Hi! Brilliant use of color and love the texture and design.

Such a fun retirement card, Michele! Love that shade of green and the way I'd love to be spending my day or life!

Just occasionally I would love to be on a desert island as long as there is a good tree to supply some shade, which I can see there is here, perfect xx

Yes a perfect retirement if you want to be away from it all lol. Love it Michele!

He looks perfectly content on his wee little island! This is super cute and I love the way you were inspired. Shawn always says he wants to go to a deserted Pacific island. He wouldn't last though, they don't have donuts there LOL!

Love that key chain and I love how you took inspirations from it to make such a terrific card... I often wish I were on a desert Island, just sayin'

Sometimes I wish I could hang out on a deserted island, but not for too terribly long. LOL Your card is wonderful, Michele.

Fantastically fun, isolated or not -- as we all have been for awhile -- might as well pick a fun location like this one!

I love everything about this inspiring and fun card! Your creative background and happy colors fit perfectly with this guy. He looks perfectly oblivious, not a bad state to be in on an island, lol.

I don't mind being alone but in the sun? With no craft supplies. I think NOT!!! But your idea was wonderful and the card is cute, Michele.

This is such a fun and adorable retirement card, Michele! Wonderful and unexpected interpretation of the IB photo (the little palm tree)! Love your beautiful coloring, the cool wave embossing in the background, and the excellent details like the shadows on the sand!

Oh I love that clever background! This guy is adorable - and looks quite happy! I love to read which is kind of like escaping to a tropical island....as long as I don't look up and see that I am really in the den wrapped in a blanket!
