When making gifts, I struggle with something that my grandkids might like ... well, like them or not - they were on my list today - the nice list, that is! Altenew's Home Decor Contest gave me the opportunity to share them here!
I found just the perfect Altenew supply to let two of them know I think they are the stars of the show - the Altenew 3D Star die! I cut them from a paper with a white core - then sanded the edges to make them a bit less-than-perfect - like their Grammy!
Up next, the same star, but for my star-gazing granddaughter who recently amended her goals to include astrophysics, or any career that would involve space, after watching the launch of the Space X Falcon 9 in Florida over the weekend. She will have to continue to be a star student, right?
Tom has been sharing his love of star watching with Lola [and her sister and parents] over the Summer tracking the satellite launches and 'star-trails' those satellites make. Many trips to our observatory, too - especially for the Perseid's meteor showers in August.
those stars will be treasured!
These are AWESOME....and very special like their grammy!
Two thoughtful, personal and unique gifts for your grandchildren Michele x. You must be so proud of them both and goals that include astrophysics and why not x.
What's all this about Grammy being a bit less than perfect....I disagree my friend !....x
These are so pretty!! I love the second one with the navy paper background!!
What perfect gifts for both your grandson and granddaughter...sure to be treasured for a loooooooog time! LOVE the 3D star too and how you framed them...really, this is an awesome gift idea Michele!! Hugs. :0)
As special as these are (the kids are going to love them, by the way!), seeing your reflection in them makes them even better! I would saw you're an all star grammy!
These are brilliant and so very clever Michele!!
They are brilliant and I'm sure they will be treasured.. I did some similar a few years ago with lights in and they are still treasured. Have a great day Michele
This is a super idea for the grandkids, Michele! Each is a unique as the person it goes to and beautifully framed!
I'm completely starry eyed with delight over these gifts, Michele. You are not only very, very clever but you are thoughtful and generous, too. I'm sure your beloved grandkids will love these gifts! Thank you for sharing them. PS I love 'seeing' you in them as well. :) xo
What a star studded idea!!! I love them and your grandkids sound like awesome little humans.
Both so gorgeous!!
What a STAR-ling idea. Puns aside, these are really special and something that all those teens should love. I mean, who doesn't want to be alled a star? Great idea to use the white core cardstock...really enhances the shape. BTW, the "star student" one's background couldn't be more ideal, as you said.
Perfect! Grands love to be recognized! The bios of your cherubs are fun and heart warming. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
These are terrific gifts, and sure to be loved, Michele! What a fantastic heart to make something they'll cherish for years to come.
Wow...very creative and beautiful special star cards for your grandchildren, Michele. TFS your cards and your grandchildrens stories. Love and Hugs...Nancy
You are an all star Grammy for sure! These are lcvely and so meaningful! Grandkids are definitely all stars!
Wow, I didn't know there was a die for this! I've been looking for an origami pattern for it. Love what you've made, Jo x
I completely understand that you don't share your personal message with us...it's evident that you are super proud of your grandkids...and it sounds like you should be! I think they will really love your framed treasures, Michele...I sure do!
I hope you and your family are doing well ~ Crafty hugs, Barb xx
