Color Hues #5 Yellow and Kraft

I'm so happy to be playing cards with the Color Hues challenge again - and they couldn't have made me happier by choosing these colors for #TCH #5!  I had a wonderful surprise in the mail , from a very sweet friend - you tell me, serendipity?

This stunning stencil is one I've admired for a very long time from The Crafters Workshop.  I've blended from the center of the bloom, starting with Catherine Pooler's Sand Castle - my closest match to kraft, then deepening it with DOX vintage photo, the a few Distress Oxide inks in the yellow family:  Fossilized amber, scattered straw, and ending at the edges with squeezed lemonade.

Since I started with a piece of Bristol paper, it was a bit brighter than my eye liked.  The fix?  Over stamping with the Crackle Background from SSS in that sand castle ink.

MFT had the perfect sentiment, in my humble opinion... I do like to send a few Thanksgiving cards!

Okay, I'd better tuck this into the Color Hues gallery... hope to see you there!

=]  Michele

Thank you, Color Hues!

Wow! You've used this beautifully, my friend! I love how it covers the card and the crackle that gives it the feeling of being stenciled on a piece of wood! The twine is an awesome touch and the sentiment says it all! We need to focus on our blessings, especially during these times.
