I jumped right in while the machine was waiting for the next load!
I so wanted to include that gorgeous velvet couch … thanks to a dear friend who shares her goodies with me, I was able to make a velvet butterfly instead!
Many years and two homes ago, Tom and I did a gorgeous wainscoting treatment in our dining room - these panels in the photo reminded me of that! Much easier to do with a score board than a saw ... never mind all the sanding and painting! Think Tom would mind that I've been thinking about it for my craft studio?
Wish you were here to feel it! the faint coloring and details were added onto the vellum I glued the velvet butterfly to.
Hope your Monday is loads of fun!
Gold foil paper from Michael's
Butterfly die a gift from a friend - thanks, again, Petra!
Velvet paper, and big hugs, from MFT - thank you, Barb!
Gorgeous card, Michele! Love the elegant simplicity! Sending hugs :) Alex
Oh how pretty!! Love all of the texture on this one. Sounds like Tom might have a project in his future. It would look fabulous in there. Where did you to love birds journey to the time, that's a lot of miles!!
Oh this is one stunning card. Adore you got the score lines in...you know I missed them!! And the velvet...I have a butterfly like this too I could have used!! Gosh, you have showed me up!! No I love how we all pick up different things from one photo, I adore photo challenges for this reason. And what a great texture on the panel. And I am often inspired by things around the house....even a bag from the supermarket might bring an idea to my head. Gosh I had better shut up and say thank you for joining us at Time Out
Glad you're back, and having fun with your loads...Mine are going as well. YOur card is FABULOUS. That velvet butterfly with that beautifully textured gold panel is AWESOME. The scoring adds another fabulous touch.
Wow, this is gorgeous! What a fab take on the inspiration, Jo x
Loving the pop of the black butterfly!

What a beauty of a card Michele! I love your scoring (I bet your dining room was fabulous!!) and how much it adds to the gold hugs and that GORGEOUS butterfly (I can just imagine running my finger tips over it!!). Lovely, lovely card my friend!! :0)
Beautiful card Michele! A very textural card that people are going to want to touch. :) Both the gold panel and black velvet butterfly add texture and depth. Wonderful CAS design! xx
Only you Michele can create while on the road! I love this card!!! I love the inspiration you got from the inspiration photo and love your wainscoting on your card. Wainscoting is so beautiful so I can imagine how your old dinning room looked! Have a great time with your sweetie! Hugs, Brenda
Did you forget the velvet paper we got from MFT on our road trip? But it is nice that friends share, like you did with that wonderful gold paper. Beautiful interpretation of the photo, Michele. I love the hand drawn details on the butterfly.
Swoon! This is so simple, and so gorgeous. The texture in that gold foil is so wonderful. That velvet butterfly is fantastic as are the embossed lines. Fantastic details. I love it! Always a joy to have you join us at Time Out!
*GASP*! There you go taking my breath away, AGAIN! Love the wainscotting look...you and your sweetie can do that in my house any time. So clean but with such impact. Awesome details, as well. Winner in my book.
Oh my goodness! this is incredible!! I wanna borrow your brain!
Your black velvet butterfly is absolutely gorgeous, Michele...especially with a vellum underlay...WOW! I'm also in LOVE with all the beautiful texture on your gold foil panel and how you scored the background...definitely reminds me of wainscotting, too! Once again, you have totally impressed me with your talents!!!
So gorgeous and elegant! The gold and black velvet are a wonderful pair! Hope your travels were wonderful. Can't imagine going that far though. As you know I'm not much of a car traveler!
I love your textures, background from your wainscoting memories for your Hugs and gorgeous velvet butterfly. I card that begs to be touched. TFS Michele. Hugs..Nancy

Wow, Michele, this is just stunning! I love the velvet and vellum butterfly on the textured gold foil panel over the white wainscoting treated ;-) card base. Adding the pink enamel dots as the flowers and using the negative of the die-cut sentiment are so clever. Such a beautiful and sophisticated design!!
What a velvet-y stunner, Michele ... beautiful, crisp wainscoting ... elegant, rich, textured gold ... and just the most lovely, touchable butterfly! Yep, a stunner! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Time Out, especially straight after your looooong trip! Hugs, Anita :)
