The Card Concept #50 and A Bit O' Green for SSS

Clean and layered is how I'm going for The Card Concept #50 ... look at the yumminess here:

I've chosen another little favorite Shamrock
of the greener kind today -
here it is in nature:

I've a loose interpretation, using that cute little
Clearly Besotted kite ... again!

E.H. Up the Happy sentiment; a fun scalloped panel from Marybeth Lopez;
Paper Smooches Reflections Flowers wise dies; and the perfect dew drops from PTI.

I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend,
and find a little bit of luck, in some form or another!

Freshly Made Sketches & Tic Tac Toe

I'm going to leave you alone for the weekend, but just one more card - promise!

For Tic Tac Toe challenge #5 [this could be a stretch] using the first vertical row:  Green, friendship, charm ...

and Freshly Made Sketches #227 by Linda, I did a totally- upside-down take:

Linda, I hope this is okay with you: and Ka ... the card has a green kite, it is for a friend, and if those little kite-tails aren't charming then I don't know what is!!!  Fingers crossed!

Clearly Besotted: Sky's the Limit Additions/dies;  Darice e.f.;
Cotton Candy and Frayed leaf Altenew inks.
some shiny little sparkly tape from my stash - where did that come from?  =]

Have a great weekend, everyone! xx

Ellen Hutson's Mix it Up Challenge: March - Pretty Pink Posh!

Banner-MIX-it

There are so many pretty ways to combine E. Hutson and Pretty Pink Posh for the Mix it Up Challenge this month!!

Where do I begin?  With the Christmas Scribbles, of course!  I have been wanting to turn Julie's little tree into something completely different ... so I turned it upside down ...

First off, I embossed PPP's Decorative Tag #1 onto a piece of watercolor paper, then painted in a little puddle, and added a few sprinkles of rain from the Sweet Pea Sequin Mix.

Then I did a little masking - quite easy, no need to cut! - removing the base of the tree, and the star on top.  My little handle is one little bitty branch of the snowflake ... could you tell?  What 'feel better' card could have a more perfect, positive, message than this one from Julie's Up the Happy?  Voila!  I've stamped it on a PPP Stitched tag.

I'm ashamed to say these words:  it might be too sunny today for photography!
The Pink compliments of Altenew Cotton Candy.

This was a really fun little umbrella to make ... it would not keep many raindrops away, but wouldn't you look really posh 'wearing' it?

Thanks for your visits this week ... it means the world to me!
Here is a little peek into the NICU at Miss Peanut where she is obviously dreaming of her Grammy...
Happy Smile worthy!

CAS[E] this Sketch #163

It would have been a perfect time to go all graphic with Chrissy's fun sketch this week ... you'll see what I mean:

However!  I had my newest cache of goodies, and a Crate & Barrel catalog within reach ... you know I cannot resist those table linens - even though I can resist buying them!

This little card turned out to be both a test, and a lesson learned ... here is what happened:

My first attempt with Altenew Wild Hibiscus, Crisp Inks + water spritzing.

You may immediately see the problem ... but let me point it out to you:  the blurred black splats in the upper right corner!!  [Tom immediately wanted to sit down to 'photoshop' it!]

Here is what I learned.  I LOve Distress Inks - let's make that clear - but!  Even after more than an hour?  When I went in to adhere my panel to the card-base, only the Black Soot splattering smeared - what might I have done differently?

Help anyone?  Which black ink should I use for splattering?
That advice, and your visits, are always so appreciated!

I do hope you can see Chrissy's sketch here ... I cannot wait to see your interpretation, and that of my CTS team-mates!

CASology: Week 188: Laugh!

CASology has challenged us to make you laugh this week!  It gave me the perfect opportunity to pull out a stamp set that is ages old, and I've used this sentiment so many times - mostly for older friends ... you'll get my drift when you see my card [one can hope?].

For CASology Week 188 a card I've made with our little peanut in mind ... [ahem - you've never seen a tinier bum] ... where the little phrase: au contraire is totally apropos ...

Inkadinkadoo "Little Cupcake" circa 2007
Winnie & Walter Noelle Cutaways
and a snippet for her bow!

Still waiting for the day when I can hold her - until then I am putting together a few cards for her caregivers... there are many!

Happy Little Stampers - CASE the Designer

I've planted a garden for Kim Heggins ... she is the designer to CASE for the month of March, after all!

Kim's adorable card with its back to school theme is SO cute!

I didn't have any of these darling minis to craft with, hence my garden theme with those little Paper Smooches Green Thumb images:

I've managed to make five panels using SSS Stitched Rectangles and Squares.
Yikes, I should have thought a bit longer about the colors ... but I like the idea of white dirt!!

This card makes me excited about Spring, and Tom's great garden ... he'll have the seeds started by the end of the month, I'm sure of it.  He turns an entire room in our basement into a greenhouse of sorts with grow-lights galore, and racks, and racks of sprouting yumminess!

I am so envious of you all that see Spring this early in the year.  I hope you bring a little bit to me when you visit me here - thanks in advance!

E.T.A.  I'm throwing my creative cap in the ring at Paper Smooches ... I am not at all sure of myself, but I do LOve playing with my little stash of P.S. products ... hope you like it Kim!!  =] xx

"Inspired by all the Little Things" Challenge

Truly, I am inspired by all the little things in life ... one particularly little thing inspires me to appreciate miracles.  Thank you, each and every one of you, who has kept our little Gretchen Michele in your prayers, and thoughts!  I am so happy to report she is doing so well - topped 4 lbs. finally!

Lesley Croghan - can we say amazingly organized?  How she keeps up with all of these fabulous challenges, one has to wonder if she's wearing a stretchy undergarment with a big S on it!

Inspired by all the Little Things is her latest wonder.  I couldn't wait to join in the fun, and was totally inspired by the photo, and her fabulous guest, my friend, amy Tsuruta:

I was taken by the darling tea cups, and tried my best to recreate one, or two =]

First:  I used Concord & 9th for the embossed circles to indicate my 'green tea' and patterned paper under vellum to paint the tea cup's interior.  Hero Arts provided me the perfectly gorgeous butterfly and sentiment, and [saving the best for last] my new NBUS [yes, Darnell, it is on its way for #6!] from Winnie & Walter, that darling little scalloped panel for my linen panel!!  Thank you, Shay, for this win!

I also wanted to share a card made with these darling tea cups from Nancy Penir, from our February
12 Kits of Occasions goodies, adding a spot of
Verve for the Tea.
I LOve those little Martha S. butterflies!  So tiny!!

I hope you'll stop over to, and play along with,  Lesley's newest challenge, too!  So many beautiful cards  from her wonderful team to inspire you.  You'll have to read this post to know why this first, is actually #5!!

Thanks for stopping by ... tea anyone?

So honored by amy T.!
