CASology: Week 252: Insect

An idea literally smacked me in the face on our walk-in-the-woods this morning, ... for Week #252:  insect -

Flora & Fauna: Happy Place Woodland

and a bit of hand-lettering.

I'll now go check for ticks...

CAS[E] this Sketch #225

Jen Mitchell is our Sketch artist this week for CTS #225!  I'm feeling a very graphic vibe with this one ...

Armed with another cool Bee's Knees set, I flipped Jen's Sketch and here's where I landed ... we're so close to Lake Michigan now, I can hear the gulls calling, and more than a few great Heron's have been fishing in the neighborhood pond!

Don't you agree that my Lil' Inkers panel makes for a beautiful spot for my gull to fish?

You all have been making just fabulous cards for our gallery ... I just know you are going to have a blast with Jen's Sketch ... see you there, soon!

Curtain Call: June - Succulent

Sorry to be so late in the game, Curtain Call!  I just got my hot little hands on a new stamp, and I just HAD to get it inky - and guess what?  This color-fearing girl got her Copics on!  I also learned something today ... since I love grey so much, I now know that color over grey makes all of them more pleasing to my eye!

Here is the fabulous June Curtain Call inspiration:

Now remember my Copic collection is growing [at about the rate that succulents do] and my skills are really limited, too.  I had these available, and put them to work the best I know how:

Add a few neutral greys for shading, and voila!

MFT's scalloped edge die helps put those pretty Waffle Flower succulents in the spotlight.

Succulents, and sentiment, stamped in Memento London Fog onto MFT Grout Grey cardstock.

Thank you for sharing two little bits of your day with me ... I really do appreciate it!

The Color Throwdown - I'm their guest!

You could have heard my eeeeep from across the pond when I read I'd won last week's challenge at The Color Throwdown!!  To be their guest is such an honor - you all know by now how color-challenged I am, right?

Here is the inspiration and colors for ctd446 this week:

As much as I love birds, there was another little friend that I wanted to play cards with today...

Just a little 'direct to stamp' Zig action was needed

to replicate those fun green, yellow, coral colors!

Essentials by Ellen Otterly Awesome, and Wonky Backdrops stamps and dies.

See!  Even a color-challenged gal can play!!  I hope you'll join me this week!

Thank you to The Color Throwdown team for making my day with that win ... it's always wonderful to win a randomly chosen challenge - but to be actually chosen?  Means tons!

Ellen Hutson June Mix it Up Challenge: BCRF

I LOve Ellen's BCRF stamp set, so when Laurel asked us to Mix it Up using it this month?  I jumped on it!

I have new neighbors that are just so much fun ... Marc is very handy, and also has the best sense of humor - or at least I hope so!!  [btw I got permission from Michelle, his wife - so no marriages were harmed in the making of this card!!!]

Are you ready?

I'm told Marc found this little Rapunzel wig from Halloween just laying around out in the garage ... sounds a bit suspect to me! ;]

Well, off it goes to Ellen's Mix it Up challenge for June, and across the street for Marc's kids to present to him on Father's day!

CAS[E] this Sketch #224

Hannelie's Sketch this week is so fun ... I really took it quite literally ... =]

For CTS #224:

You'll have to take my word for the sequins all being a perfect shade of aqua!

Winnie & Walter's Sketchy Thoughts made my 'work' easy!

Hope you had a wonderful long weekend  ... I'll see you in the CTS gallery!

A reminder! from Time Out!

How much fun do you think I'm having as a guest designer for Time Out Challenge #84?  Yep, that much, and more!

Here's my second edition, and my reminder to you all who haven't played [or would like to play again] with this quote:

"Flowers and friends make life a garden."

Which leads me to my card:

Inside:

"... who better to help you see the florist for the trees?"

tap, tap, tap ... is this thing on?

Thanks to Time Out for inviting me to join the team this challenge!!  It was fun, and Sandie made it so easy, too!
