Just us Girls #807 Stencil Week

I'm back 'in the saddle' and even though our weather is dreadful, I am 99.8% better and boy that feels great!

The moment Bobby announced it was Stencil Week at Just us Girls #807, I scurried into my studio - I have a brand spankin' new stencil set to use!!  I mentioned a prize won on IG from Waffle Flower Crafts - not only did I choose those wonderful frames, but also their new Peony Stencils... here's the first of many to come...

Galina used black in her background in her YouTube video - of course I wanted
to CASE every detail but thought a dark brown would be almost as dramatic!
Tell me what you think!

Several dies were used before I got right to the edge of the completed piece:
from the outside: PTI Skinny Ric Rac dies, then EH Essential Rectangle which
leaves the teensiest little border, and lastly one of Wplus9's Postage dies for my sentiment.

Before putting them all together, I used my favorite SU Subtle Texture to add a fabric look.
I just never tire of that.

These are the inks used for the Peony layers.

So!  There it is! My first card for a challenge in 2026!  Thanks, JUGS for lighting the fire!

Not sure which is more impressive...the florals (beautiful) or that frame (amazing)! It all works together in such a gorgeous way!

I almost just bought these peonies, but didn't. They are one of my favorite flowers and I have a wildly funny story about my FIL describing his peonies to me - I will stop right there. I have to recover every time I think of it. Your card is just wonderful. I love the brown background and your choice of colors is so perfect. Now I need those ric rac dies too!

Definitely beautiful! I love that you used brown as the backdrop -- not only does it match your peony inks, but it let you bring in that kraft and white framing -- so beautiful

I'm so glad you are 99.8% better, Michele! And you came back in a dramatic way, my friend! I think the dark brown works as well as black, especially with the colors of your peonies and the awesome framing!

So happy to see you back in the saddle, stenciling up a storm! I've yet to play with my WF peony stencil and I wouldn't have thought of that yummy color combo. I'm sure we'll be seeing a black background, soon ;)

Yes, the dark brown background is beautiful with those stenciled blooms. Love the frame and design of your card. So glad to see you "Back in the saddle" with your creating.

Oh, yes that texture is wonderful! A little click for a close up and I see it perfectly. Love every inch of this. The stenciled flowers are fabulous with brown, and the framing is charming with the ric rac border. The postage die for the sentiment gives the impression of being pinked, which is ideal with the ric rac and fabric look of the image panel. So glad you're feeling 99.8% better!

You've framed out those peonies beautifully, Michele, and since they are what I assume is Nutmeg the dark brown background works best. Thanks for sharing your creativity with us at Just Us Girls.

What a fun edge.... loving the pop of white border to highlight both the blooms and the frame, so clever!
