Christmas in July with Marcia!

Hello again!  I was so happy to spend a few fun-filled hours with Marcia last week for our Christmas in July gathering!

It's always fun to see how the bits and pieces of the things we stamp, cut, and stencil come together after in our own studios.  Of course, we are happy to share them with you, too!

I brought my new 'snowdudes' so Marcia could play until her order arrives.  While she cut those, I cut one of the new Cottage Cuts dies she had just received!  What better place for them than within one of the stenciled pieces we inked after lunch?

I know Marcia will share the name of that fun stencil from Pinkfresh Studios - of course
I wrote it on the BACK of the panel and promptly glued it on my card!  Hey, he was excited!

This next one is Holiday Botanical Background from PFS - stenciled with a few
inks borrowed from Marcia's Catherine Pooler ink stash:
Flirty Fuchsia, Eucalyptus, and Juniper Mist

I used a craft knife to cut around the leaves so I could tuck the dudes among them!
"let it snow" lyric and snowflakes from EH -

I always go with a little list of things I love that Marcia has used on her cards.  Here is Seasonal Sprig from Taylored Expressions... first in red...

Then again in Ripe Persimmon:

Last, but certainly not least, Marcia shared her new Altenew Festive Trees with me, too!  I quickly borrowed a few more inks and used the packaging as my inspiration for colors but added silver for the 'tree trunks.'  A few MFT silver stars were all they needed for a finishing touch.

Then, I had 'my way' with the large PEACE and stamped a few of the trees over
the top in Delicata Silver ink!  It might be my favorite!

Lunch was wonderful with Marcia's fabulous chicken salad on croissants with fresh strawberries and pineapple on the side.  I brought dessert - and may I tell you that Marcia is quite wonderful about being my guinea pig taste-tester for new recipes!  I had seen a recipe for Atlantic Beach Pie and wanted to try it... I only wish I'd snapped a photo as it was beautiful AND delicious!  You can watch it come to life HERE and I'm happy to say the maker gives a link to the written recipe.

I can't wait for our bonus gathering this Summer, Marcia!  I feel very lucky to have you in my life!  Doubly lucky having all you friends stop by for a visit here - I only wish I had the room for ALL of you to come stay a while!

Now I really have to go see what Marcia did with her snowdudes!!!

Wow Wow Wow! What a fun time you & Marcia must have had! I am in love with those trees! I think I might need to scrounge around my stamp room and see if I can create something similar! All of them are GORGEOUS!

Oh, what fun! The stenciling makes an awesome frame for the first adorable snowman! I'm loving the colors and framing of the snowdudes too! Did I say how much I love the purple and green? The branches of berries are festive in both colors and you trees take to the silver beautifully! The multicolored PEACE is beautiful with the trees lightly stamped over! I can't pick a favorite. I so wish we were neighbors!

What a festive post!! It's hard to go wrong with those singing snowmen - I love everything you've done with them! But your (almost) one-layer cards are just as amazing!

Oh, my word! Each card as I scroll along brings more delightful Christmas cheer into my world! Talk about inspiration! The stencils are beautiful, and Marcia's little snow guy as well as your singing snow folk look perfectly happy nestled into them. Love the colors of the second stenciled card especially. The Seasonal Sprig makes the most lovely and gentle card in either color. I do love those triangle trees, too! What a fun and simple set to play with. The colors are fabulous! The final card is probably the most beautiful of all to my eyes. Fascinating with the patterns over the large 'peace', and same color as the other trees, but looking so different and even more amazing on the letters. I'll definitely look up the Atlantic Beach Pie. I'm intrigued by the name. Lunch sounds delicious, and all the better shared with Marcia! What a great day!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE all of your cards, especially those snowmen (who finally arrived!) in purples! I can't believe you fussy cut that opening! Another reason you're just AH-mazing!!! Thank you for sharing, and I see that there's more!

WOW! You got a lot of Christmas cards made and they are all so wonderful, Michele. Snowmen are always popular and the stenciled frames are another way to show them off. The simple branches are lovely and the colorful trees with their silver trunks are elegant. I love how you used them with the multicolored peace stamp tool.

Fantastic! All of these are just amazing, Michele, but I'm sure not surprised. Your cards are always perfectly executed and many are as fun as fun can be. Each is perfect... but that "extra" playdate? Me me me, I wish...

Wow, what amazing cards you have created. I must say I love your snow dudes no matter how you use them but they look right at home among that stenciled frame and the way you fussy cut around it to tuck them in. The last one is an eye catcher with those silver trees stamped over the lovely and colorful Peace. So glad that you and Marcia can get together and have fun. Always enjoy see what you ladies create.

Michele, your good time really came through in your creations. The snow man looks so happy surrounded by the greenery. The snow dudes (mine are on the way too!) are such fun. How could anyone not love em. I like the purples.Your simple sprig is lovely in both red and persimmon. I love the trees. I think I have something similar from Waffle Flower (I bought because of your cards years ago.) they might work for this style.

How wonderful the out come of your playdates with Marcia. The many cards you made with her and the many you made from the stash you borrowed are so wonderful. The snow dudes are a fovorite of mine this year. They are SO MUCH FUN. I love everything you made, and those last 2 are especially fabulous. I could say you've outdone yourself, but you will do it again tomorrow. PS - that recipe looks like summer deliciousness. Gonna make it!
