Playing Cards with Friends - Marcia Hill

Turning the calendar to February is always such a relief - do you feel the same?  Oh, don't think that we won't have plenty of Winter weather yet here in Michigan, but I always feel like I can make it because of this shorter month!

For the February 2021 edition of Playing Cards with Friends, I've invited a very dear friend who I've been lucky enough to actually craft with! IN PERSON - remember that??  Marcia Hill, of Marcia's Stampin' Pad, is not only sweet, kind, and generous, she's a fabulous card maker, too!  We often compare notes when MFT has a release to ask 'did you get this?' or 'do you have that?'

Of all the things we mutually love,  Marcia has a wonderful stash of MFT Birdie Brown sets ... this one [Warmest Wishes] I loved so much, I HAD TO make it my own.  Here are the parameters I assigned to our play day:

  • ·         MFT Birdie Brown: Warmest Wishes and dies
  • ·         Make it a Valentine!!
  • ·         Copic coloring

Flurry of love!

My little snowflake catching girl is instead catching a bundle of love in the form of a few hearts from a very old MFT Blueprints tag builder #3 set.  The big grey heart was cut from MFT grout grey card stock with Stitched Heart Stax.  I've colored her with Copics - these to be exact:

... and lastly added a bit of Frosted Lace Stickles!  Voila!

Marcia - thanks for generously sharing your crafty stash, and studio with me in the 'good old days!'  I cannot WAIT until the day we'll be playing cards together again!

This card should be in your hands by now ... happiest birthday, my friend, one day early!  I hope your DH will shower you with all your heart desires!  [or that YOU have showered yourself - been there, done that!]  We are all on the way to see how you've used this sweet little stamp today!

Thank YOU my friends for stopping by today, and being so generous with your kind comments on my Playing Cards with Friends posts!  Who knows?  YOU might receive an invitation to play, too - if so, I do hope you'll say YES! xo

Love the soft colors you used, Michele. This is such a darling card. Now that I know how to color faces I may need to borrow a couple of your BB stamps.

This is so sweet, Michele! Love the little girl trying to catch falling tiny hearts. The light gray stitched heart backdrop goes so well with the pink elements here and there. The Frosted Lace Stickles are wonderful touches.
I'm sure you and Marcia had fun time crafting together. The wonderful smile of you two I saw on Marcia's post makes me happy. :-)
When I retire, I'd love to visit you to play cards together. Until then, I look forward to many more of your Playing Cards with Friends posts!

She is super sweet!!!! I’m curious about the lovely colors you used in her coat. The E70/71s ? I don’t own those but that may challenge soon. Now I’m off to Marcia’s blog. Love this feature of yours.
