I'm sure you've heard the sad news? My heart is aching. But as we near the close of CAS[e] this Sketch, I decided I could really stretch the boundaries a bit ... like I didn't always?? LOL Here is 'Two Ls' wonderful Sketch:
First, I flipped, next I embossed, then I blended that new Altenew Tranquility Rose layering stencil again! Here are the results of my shenanigans...
The inks I've used:
Can you believe this was created with stencils? I'm so happy Altenew has released a few of these gorgeous 3D embossing folders - this one is called Angled Mosaic! You'll be seeing it a LOT!
For all of you that have been faithful players, and constant support for Cas[e] this Sketch, how about playing along with us as we say goodbye? You know we'll be so grateful! Let's go find more inspiration, shall we? CTS404
Sorry to hear the challenge is closing, such sad news Michele. You made such a beautiful card though, love the clever blending and colouring and the 3d e/f's look fabulous...I may NEED some now lol. Happy New Year and stay safe and well ;)hugs Viv xx
Have to say I was shocked to see this challenge closing. It's always been a mainstay and, if I was any good following sketches, I would have played more frequently. Your stenciled card is amazing...you can get so much lovely detail from these stencils and the colors your chose are simply delicious. Of course, it pops out from that deeply textured embossing beautifully.
So sad to hear CTS is closing too - it's been a mainstay of our crafting community forever! But it's ending for the best of reasons and I agree, let's give the challenge a great send off!
Love that you are continuing to do your own thing with the sketch Michele and love your card. What a great EF that is! I don't think I'll mind seeing a lot of that! A pretty rose too! I'm amazed at the new releases of layering stencils coming out and the gorgeous results you get with them :) Vicky x
I shall definitely miss seeing your contributions to this challenge. It is always a little sad when things change. This is a stunning card, that embossing folder is just amazing. 3d embossing folders are pretty special. I always struggle with layering stamps and reckon that layering stencils may work better for me, they certainly work well for you. love those colours too xx
Oh, how pretty! That is a fun embossing folder and that rose... swoon! It breaks my heart for this challenge to be ending too :(
Love your 3D dry embossed background for your stunning layered stenciling flower, Michele. Many stampers will miss this wonderful sketch challenge and all the inspiration from the design teams. CTS's #404 Challenges are a real accomplishment and so much inspiration to be proud of...TFS your beautiful cards too, my friend. Love and Hugs..Nancy
Such a shame to hear the challenge blog is closing... Your card as always is wonderful and I am really loving your collections of stamps and embossing folders that you showcase incredibly.
Gorgeous card to showcase a wonderful challenge. You've been such a wonderful supporter of it. I'm hoping when one door closes, a window will open somewhere. Meantime, you've been a wonderful ambassador for this challenge. :) Crafty hugs!
I can't believe this was done with stencils, Michele, but I know you wouldn't say so if it wasn't. A gorgeous flower and such deep embossing! A beautiful card, my friend!
WOW...this is a STUNNER card Michele! LOVE that background you embossed and you can definitely use it a LOT and I won't mind a bit!! And it just blows me away that that flower is done by stenciling...it's absolutely GORGEOUS my friend! Lovely, lovely card!! Hugs. :0)
I'm loving that 3D embossing folder - it really plays some tricks with the depth perception and adds so much interest - it's going on my wish list! : ) Love the CAS design layout!
Great texture from the embossing folder and one beautiful layered 'stencilled' flower. Great take on the sketch too Michele x. A real stunner of a card x.
Something told me that you would 'like' this embossing folder lol. Love that flower too, I agree that it's fantastic that a stencil can be used to create this. Sad to hear that the sketch is finishing it was always such a great challenge!
A truly wonderful card what with the texture and great colors. TFS
It really is sad that CTS is closing...it's been a fun challenge and you have really been an inspiration to all, Michele!
LOVE this gorgeous card! My favorite late uncle scoured the nurseries in search of the 'perfect peach rose', and I think even he would be impressed with this beauty! I also love that you chose brown for the leaves...such a lovely match! Placing it on the embossed angled mosaic pattern was genius, my friend...You have really outdone yourself! xx
Gorgeous card and fabulously designed.
Michele, I was really sad when I heard that CTS was closing too... I know I'll go back and enjoy looking at the Designers' cards for inspiration.
The embossed background is amazing and it’s perfect for showing off the elegant rose! The stenciled rose has softness and warmth. I love this card!!
I clicked the link for the stencil set, but it was already sold out! I need to move faster. ;-P
I am so sorry to see CTS go - such a creative crew you all are! And as for your card - wow that is one gorgeous flower and one fabulous background!
I just learned of this sad news this morning Michele. I didn't play along but once or twice, but I loved seeing everyone's take on the sketches and I saved the sketches. You would be a great one to continue this challenge my friend. lol Just a thought?! As usual I love your take on this fabulous sketch. That rose is gorgeous! I just found out not that long ago that they are making stencils like this! OMGosh-I so want to try one! lol Loving that embossing folder too and now you tell me that Altnew is making them as well?! I think I need a part time job just so I can buy some supplies that I don't need! lol Love your card my friend, it is just stunning! Hugs, Brenda
GOR-GEOUS! Wow, fantastically beautiful flower (kudos for layering anything -- I sure can't), and wow that 3d folder is gorgeous.
That EF is fantastic and I'll expect to see it again. I love the soft effect stenciling gives the flower. Nicely done, girl.
I pushed myself to work out what to do with this week's sketch as I felt like I should make an extra effort to catch the last few challenges - I will so miss CAS(E) This Sketch! I love your card this week Michele - the background embossing folder is AMAZING (and I'm generally not big on EFs!) Love the non-traditional flower colours too. This is one beautiful floral - I'm amazed it's a stencil too!
Beautiful, colours and design!
Gah! This is stunning! Stencils are definitely one of my favorite go-tos these days....Loving how you've used them here!
