Christmas Kickstart #41 Festive Florals - an ode to a talented friend!

There is a card maker in our midst that I hold in the highest regard!  Recently, my oh-so-talented friend, who blogs at Lost in Paper [and creates the most wonderful videos] recently made a card using Altenew's Poinsettia.  It had me shopping immediately, Therese!  Please go right now to see it... I'll wait - it could be hours before you stop ogling the beauty there!

Isn't it wonderful when a challenge pops up that is the perfect place to share my thoroughly CASE'd card?  Challenge #41 at Christmas Kickstart was just the ticket!

I've tried to make it my own - it's amazing the varieties of color Poinsettia there are!  You all know how I feel about grey by now, right?  You'll see it again, and again during the Holiday Season of card-making.  Here I've used a steel grey, cut it with one of my fave Spellbinders dies, and embossed with a Subtle Texture embossing folder.

Thanks a million for all the inspiration you provide to our blogging world, Therese!

Oh! My! God! We must be joined at the hip. Saw the same Therese video, shopped for the same bloom. Now all I have to do is use it. But you've done Therese proud. That vibrantly colored flower look amazing on steel grey.

Stunning! I, too, watched that video and pulled out all my poinsettia stamps. I don't have that gorgeous die cut, but it's on my wish list for sure.

This is simply stunning, that pink and white poinsettia looks absolutely wonderful on that grey embossed background. A real stunner. Yes, you have made the idea your own, without doubt xx

I've got a feeling I better check out that video if it inspired your fabulous card, Michele! I was only thinking about your love of grey when I made my pink and grey girl in a tea cup card. Your card is a total stunner and I love the dimension you've achieved with that flower. Thanks for joining Arlene and me at Christmas Kickstart, Jo x

That did take a while, my friend! Thanks for the link to Theresa's video. I love how you've made this your own with your coloring, die cut edge and texture! Love, love, love this!

Wow, I'm amazed by Therese's cards and by you as well Michele! That poinsettia just pops off the gray background! You will have to tell me the name of the mat with the holes, I loved the circle ones and now I'm in love with the square ones! lol So I NEED them. I love gray too, spare bedroom is yellow and gray and my living room is gray/light wood furniture. Gray is just the perfect color isn't it?! Poinsettia's do come in so many beautiful colors and your poinsettia turned out amazing and so real looking. I so love it! I have to get out the poinsettia that you used and I HAD to have and use it. lol Maybe next week I will get it out for a play when my friend comes over. Thanks for inspiring and enabling me Michele! lol Hugs, Brenda

Since I'm working backwards on your blog posting from the past few days, I've already seen the washi tape version and now this little beauty pops up! This CAS treatment on the poinsettia combined with that gorgeous gray background is a match made in Christmas heaven!

So gorgeous, Michele. Therese inspired me too but not with the die cut poinsettia. How do you mail that beauty?

Both Therese's and your Poinsettia cards are gorgeous, Michele! I love your beautiful grey textured background as much as the flower. The way you added the sentiment is so tasteful.
