CAS Mix Up Stencil Card Challenge: Tone on Tone

Not having our annual road trip is just one of the things we missed most during this troubling year!  SO I've revisited one of our favorites, on Interstate 12, en route to Bryce Canyon National Park where we saw gorgeous stands of Aspens - I can only imagine how beautiful they are in Autumn!  I'm imagining lying under one here...

for CAS Mix Up's October tone-on-tone Challenge

I used a wonderful new stencil from Flora and Fauna, and blended shades
of Autumn, giving the stencil a 90° turn, and blending a bit more to get the
feeling of being under those Aspens, where the branches and leaves would be layered!  AND since it's the season for sending, I've added a greeting from Pinkfresh Studios - even did a little tone-on-tone colored cardstock there -
that would be perfect for Thanksgiving, in my humble opinion.

It wasn't asked for, but I couldn't help adding a bit of texture
to my card by embossing the opposite corner with that fun stencil!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend, my friends ... thanks for spending a bit of your week with me - I appreciate it so very much!

It really does look like you're lying on your back staring up at the leafy branches. And the colors are right up my alley.

It looks like we had similar ideas for this challenge, Michele. Your embossing with a stencil looks so deep and crisp.

Well, you have become quite the stenciler, haven't you now... Inking, embossing... awesome! I have had the good fortune to be in Aspen in the fall, and it is a site to see - all that luscious gold. Your card is absolutely gorgeous and genius. I love it so much.

Beautiful autumn tones for your angled stencilled panel and love the added dry embossed section of leaves too Michele and the coordinating sentiment. I think a lot of us are feeling the lack of a break away this year and it does bring to mind a pretty leafy canopy overhead. x

No road trip necessary for me! I'm enjoying looking through these beautiful leaves right at home! I LOVE the embossing in the upper corner. I'm amazed at the depth of the impression with the stencil. I've never had much luck embossing them! Thanks so much for sharing this with us at CAS Mix Up!

Lovely! But so sorry you aren't getting your trip. The aspens are pretty and I love to hear the rustling of the leaves. We don't generally go to the mountains to see them, though. Our neighbors across the street have a mini grove in their backyard so we get a front row seat when we go over. You've captured their essence beautifully. :)

I love the idea of being under the Aspens Michele and your card sure does depict that. The tone on tone looks amazing and I like how you balanced the card out with the dry embossing x.

I can see the gorgeous layered leaves in your card, Michele! The dry embossing, the stenciling, and the die-cut sentiment strike a good balance, and the tone-on-tone sentiment is a wonderful detail!
