Chrissy Larsen created Sketch #385 ... I see tons of possibilities, can't you?
I took advantage of this great Sketch to create a card that can be shared with Altenew's August Inspiration Challenge:
That 'fairy' brings back a wonderful memory of finding a 'fairy wing' in my garden. It was then cradled in cotton, and sent to my granddaughter who shared my belief that fairies do indeed exist, and one just shed her wings in our garden!
Here's where my card began, with a very old circa 2012 Memory Box Meadow Dragonfly die, and a quick swipe of Altenew's Frayed Leaf for the wings, and Silver Stone for the body, onto a scrap of white:
It provided the perfect 'gossamer' feel I was aiming for:
The trio of leaves for its landing zone come from
Altenew's Beautiful Heart stamped in Evergreen, and layered with Frayed Leaf, and Forest Glades inks, then cut using the coordinating dies.
I love Altenew's Dotted Swirls debossing cover plate to add a bit of interest to my EBE Essential Circle - notice I only debossed the inner circle and left the
slim frame untouched.
This tiny hello is from Altenew again - Fresh Freesia - and cut from a snippet [it had a bit of the EBE stitched details on it] with an MFT Pierced Circle Stax.
NOW! It's time for me to say thanks for the visit! Then send you on your way to CTS#385 to see all the
wonderful ways our DT have represented Chrissy's
wonderful Sketch!

Dreamy, soft and so delicate, Michele ... this is just lovely! What a sweet and magical story ... just wondering ... are there really people who don't believe in fairies? Hugs, Anita :)
Beautiful! I am STILL waiting to get the Dotted Swirls cover plate! :(

It definitely has the ethereal look you must have been going for. I do believe I've spotted another winner. Simply lovely.

Beautiful card, and a sweetstory.
This is such a beautiful card - it reminds me of a visual haiku...very deliberate and well-chosen minimal elements which create an entire story : ) I will think of fairy wings from now on when I see dragonflies buzzing on my deck!
Hugs - Rachelle : )

Wow! What a delicious CAS card Michele! Great take on the sketch as usual. I love your circle embossed, that dragonfly-well I'm in love with it, so love dragonflies and love to watch them buzz by me in the pool. Love how you did him too with the swipes of ink. The leaves are the perfect landing zone and how beautiful they look too! I'm with sweet Anita in that are there really people who don't believe in fairies?!! Hugs, Brenda
Love this dragonfly and how you've colored him up! His wings do look gossamer! Love the embossed circle too!
Fairies are real! And you are a lucky one! And a talented one. This is a gorgeous card. In awe. Again!
A very beautiful composition. The embossing is perfect.
Oh my, such a soft and beautiful thoughtful hello card, Michele. I LOVE your CAS design using the soft colored cardstock and embossed stitching. Such a beautiful landing area for your gorgeous die cut dragonfly! TFS my friend. Love and Hugs, Nancy
Oh my gosh do I LOVE this card Michele! In fact the whole post is just magical...from finding the fairy wings in your garden and sending them on to your granddaughter, to the beautiful dragonfly and gorgeous stitched circle, and lovely leaves, and finally the beautiful sea glass cardstock you used...I am just loving that color! Lovely, lovely card my friend!!! Hugs. :0)
I am a succour for embossed backgrounds and this one on the little circle is just perfect. I need to get some of these dies in my collection, but no, I promised myself I wouldn't buy anything else for a good while1 xx
Absolutely gorgeous take on the sketch, Michele! Your two-toned dragonfly is perfect sitting on those beautiful leaves and I love your background of dotted swirls...such an elegant card!
Beautiful card Michele and I love the idea that fairies really do exist. I can image her excitement in receiving that wing in the mail.
So serene!
Another beautiful creation, Michele. Love that blue paper with the greens of the dragonfly and leaves.
Michele what a lovely card, I love the colour of the background and the leaves and the beautiful dragonfly!
Beautiful! Love all aspects of this one, Michele! I do say I did some googling of "gossamer" (don't think me ignorant but even brainiac Hubbs didn't know) and you pulled it off wonderfully
OK, I am swooning. This is so gorgeous I can hardly stand it. I love the swipes on the paper then die cutting. Genius.
Wow, Michele, you are so ingenious! LOve the way you created the 'fairy' feel for the dragonfly wings, and the way you used the dotted Swirls cover die and EBE Essential Circle! The color tone of the card is so soothing and I feel "zen".
Hideko xx
p.s. Not only I learned the above-mentioned wonderful tricks, but I also learned a new word, gossamer. :-)
Fabulous Michele! Love the way you created that gossamer feel and that deboss cover plate is gorgeous - the perfect platform for your dragonfly. Loved this sketch - so glad I squeaked in an entry!
