After a very frustrating day on Tuesday, I needed to try something completely different! Joanna, and the March CAS Mix Up was just the challenge the craft-doctor ordered!
I haven't tried Faux Stained Glass, and had to do a little digging to find a die that would work … this one may have been a little too detailed, but I made it work - I hope you agree!
Bountiful Sunflower, from Poppystamps, is so pretty... I cannot imagine why I don't use it more often! I cut three from Neenah 110# cardstock, and glued those together. Using the die cut negative as a guide, I did some really simple Copic coloring where appropriate in yellow and green.
I added the triple-layered Sunflower, gluing it carefully. After that was dry, I then filled the colored areas with Nuvo Crystal Glaze and set it aside to dry.
While waiting, I cut one more Sunflower from Linen cardstock - and glued that on top of the others. This left me with faux stained glass, and one die cut Sunflower that was devoid of any of the Crystal Glaze that might have sneaked out.
For the March CAS Mix Up Faux Stained Glass challenge:
Faux stained glass, die-cutting, stamping, and Copic Coloring
Hope your week has gone smoothly so far... thanks for dropping by...

Rocked it!
I have this sunflower die and didn't think of it for the stained glass technique! I wish I had. This is GORGEOUS, Michele! What an amazing card! Thanks so much for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up!
I'm sorry Tuesday didn't treat you well, but Wednesday had your back girl! This is beautiful Michele. The sunflower is a pretty die and this technique worked so well with it. This is a beautiful CAS design!
Beautful flower Michele! This worked perfectly for the stained glass technique. I love the bright and sunny colours of your gorgeous sunflower. Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up! xx

I think you made this die work beautifully, M! It's such a fun and addicting technique! Hope you don't have any more flustruating days ahead!! Hugs, D
Just simply stunning Michelle
What was it about Tuesday? I had an incredibly aggravating Tuesday, too! I hope the rest of the week is going better for you. Okay, onto your card. It's gorgeous! I LOVE the stained glass effect you achieved with the beautiful sunflower. I hope you have an absolutely wonderfully lovely day! Hugs!
This isn't the flower I was thinking about, Michele, although I have a cut of this one too. The sunflower is gorgeous done in this technique and since you know how to do it, why not find the other stamp I was talking about. It's an outline die with a background die to go with it, about 3 by 3.
Hope Wednesday and the rest of the week treat you better! Your card turned out beautifully.
You certainly did make it work Michele! I love this die and have one that is very similar. I love how this turned out!!!! Your stained glass technique looks so beautiful on this sunflower making it a stunning card! Hugs, Brenda
So dang cool, I can't even...!!! *heart eyes*

Girl, you totally nailed it with this gorgeous die! I love how the colors peek through and how you created so much depth with all those layers! GORGEOUS work, my friend!
Yay, a super successful Wednesday! This turned out so great! And now you're ready to play with many more faux stained glass ideas!

My goodness you absolutely made my day, this is so pure, clean and darn gorgeous! This fine die cut definitely found the right person to attack the faux glass technique. Bravo! Beautifully executed.
Thanks so much for joining us at CAS Mix Up! xx
Wow, what a stunning faux stained glass sunflower, Michele! You perfectly layered the intricate die-cuts and poured Crystal Glaze into every single tiny die-cut aperture. It's worth your time and effort - the colored gloss looks amazing against the beautiful white space! Thanks for joining us at CAS Mix Up! I hope you enjoyed the technique. :-)
