Happy New Year, my friends … thanks so much for stopping by today, and all the days in 2018 when you've given me your support, and kind words!
Donna Mikasa is giving us a fabulous start to 2019 with Sketch 303 … so many possibilities - which is what I celebrate most at the top of a new year... and it's a RETRO Sketch from December of 2017! Did you play along?
Last year, my card included a little envelope one could tuck a gift card into on the front of the card... this time around, I included a little gift from the heart …
You might expect to see a bit of real stitching occasionally... I received a new sewing machine for Christmas! An overdue replacement for my circa 1971 model with the broken foot pedal that I couldn't replace. Nothing too fancy, but it has some stitches that mimic those from this favorite die I've used today.
Hope you all enjoyed wonderful holidays … if you took a break from crafting, like I did, it's a bit daunting to start again. But also one of the best things about the new year, right?
Let's go get some inspiration from my teamies at CTS, shall we?! and thanks always for stopping by!

Yay for a new sewing machine.
This card is lovely...awesome gray and yellow combo.
Darling card Michele, love those grays. Can wait to see what you stitch up on your new machine.
Ooooh...a sewing machine. Very nice. Does that mean you'll be making all your own clothes? Perhaps you can crank out something to match your card...anything yellow, grey & white would make me smile.
!I agree, it's hard to get started again, but I will 'push on' lol. Love your pretty take on the inspiration Michele and wishing you a fantabulous 2019!
LOVE everything about this....even those teeny little pins! Sweet as can be! Reminds me I haven't used my stitched dies lately. Not much time for stamping, sadly.
Well, this is as sweet as can be! The pattern on that big heart has a great vintage vibe and you couldn't have chosen a better color combo.
I'm sorry to hear that your sewing machine couldn't be fixed. But I suppose that 47-odd years is a good run! I remember when I was learning to sew in the 70's with my mothers sewing machine. It had it's own cabinet and instead of a foot pedal you pressed your knee against a paddle. Many years later my mother bought me my own - a portable one with a foot pedal. I don't sew as much now as I used to but sewing is a skill that I sure am glad that I learned!
Happy new year!!! <3
Such a lovely take on the sketch, Michele! I love the stitching on the hearts and the charming patterned paper! Most of all, I must say that I adore those cute little pins...worth all the work you put into them, my friend!
Happy 2019 to you and Tom! I'm so glad Santa brought you a new sewing machine...can't wait to see how you play with it :)
Oh my goodness, this is just as pretty as pretty can be! I love every little detail!
What a pretty take on the sketch, Michele! You turn the circle and the rectangle into these lovely vintage-feel hearts! Fantastic job of fussy-cutting the thin pins (especially the tiny round heads).
And Yay for the new sawing machine! Good for Tom Santa.
Looking forward to seeing your real stitching!
Hideko xx
SO clever to use two hearts for the sketch. And those yummy stitches! Hoping to see more stitchery on your projects.
Soooo pretty, Michele ... the oh so precisely placed embossed stitching gives these lovely layered hearts such delicious detail ... yum! Yay for a new sewing machine ... what a great guy Santa is!! Hugs, Anita :)
Yay! Congratulations on your new sewing machine. The possibilities are endless for your creativity. This card is absolutely charming and delightful. Love the colors and the detail in the stitching dies you used. You sure can take a basic shape and make it shine, Michele. Love it! Hugs!
It may be hard for you but my head is brimming with ideas as I go over my challenge list. This is such a sweet card, Michele, with the tiny flowers and fancy stitching. It reminds me of a little girl's dress. And the pins are a great accent although I wouldn't want to fussy cut them.
A new sewing machine!! yippee skippee!!
I hope you will share some of your sewing projects soon!
I love the colors you used for your darling card Michele!! yellow and grey.... swoon!
Oh I do love yellow and gray! Sweet sweet card.....love the delightful stitching! And I admit I don’t know how to sew a stitch!
What a great card, and I just ADORE that stitched detail! Can't wait to see some from you!
Beautiful card Michele, love those hearts. the pretty little flowers on the first one and the stitched pattern on the second heart. Perfect. I love when I see a little stitching somewhere on a card but then I look at my room and think where oh where would this machine go. AND I tried sewing once with a machine that was meant to be for this purpose and my card looked like the dog had been chewing on it. lol sewing is not my strength
Such a beautiful card Michele! Love those beautiful hearts and that fun patterned paper!
So very sweet! Love those precious hearts--the tiny flowers and stitching are beautiful!
