Altenew Inspiration Challenge January 2019

I am in awe of this gorgeous quilt … yes.  I did say quilt... created by Ann Graf of Huston, TX.  I was inspired by the swirling colors of the fabrics Ann used.  My attempt to recreate it resulted in this card for Altenew's January 2019 Inspiration Challenge...

I was finally able to find this wonderful Leaf Canopy set in stock at my favorite store … I've stamped it with Ruby Red, Mango Smoothie, and Evergreen Altenew inks BUT before stamping, I KISSED it with a group of leaves from Altenew's Adore You set.

I also used that group of line-drawn leaves to add a bit of color to my inlaid die cut Mega Friend. It's obvious I need to invest in Altenew's orange inks … my mango smoothie isn't quite as bright as I'd like, but I wasn't ready to give up on it!

Hope you've made it to the middle of your week with flying colors … thanks for spending a bit of your day with me!

GORGEOUS take on the inspiration photo, Michele! I love how you used the kissing technique and the 'Mega Friend' sentiment is absolutely perfect! That is one lucky friend to receive this beauty...that's for sure :)

Great use of the kissing technique to give those leaves a little 'something-something' Michele. Thanks for reminding me of another fun technique I haven't tried in a while - and should give a go again.

The inspiration quilt is gorgeous. What bold and vibrant colors! And the stitching. Be still my heart. Your card is absolutely beautiful as well, Michele. I love how you pulled the colors from the quilt and used the kissing technique to add some depth to the stamping. Your cleverness is showing!! I also like the detail in the big friend, too. Absolutely wonderful card! Lucky is your friend who will receive this delight.

I haven't done kissing in a while but it sure makes for some texture on those leaves, Michele. The lines on the die cut are so innovative and something others will pick up on I'm sure.

Luscious as that quilt is, I think you topped it with your card. Using the leaves to add interest to the canopy and the sentiment is a stroke of brilliance. Love the outcome. Gorgeous.

Yes, beautiful quilt indeed, but so is your card my friend! I love how you "kissed" your stamp with the other stamp set, I never think to use this technique and it is a great technique. Love this! Hugs, Brenda

Stunning, Michele. I have to look up kissing. Been a while and I forget exactly... but your leaves are inspiring and capture the detail of the quilt so well.
