Birgit Norton is our hostess for May and she's created the most wonderful tribute to her Mom - we were all truly touched by her words - thank you, Birgit! This kit was filled with lots of reminders of her mother's favorite things... and such a joy to play cards with - I mean it, Birgit!!! [inside joke] thank you so very much!
As you can glimpse in Lindsey's awesome photo above [thanks darlin' for the new look!!] Birgit gave us plenty of goodies, papers, images to color, many die cuts that were all ready for the card, and sentiments galore! I've plenty leftover for many more cards!
So, get a beverage, and get comfy, 'kay?
Let's start with the gorgeous flowers, shall we?
This card made itself, btw. All I added was the scalloped die cut edge!
Since most of my cards are sent to other card makers, I've left a few tulips simply tucked in so they could use them for a creation of their own!
You won't be surprised that I colored a few blooms in my favorite shades of grey, right?
This Freesia set promptly when into a cart.
LOve this combination of Distress inks for water coloring:
Black Soot, and Pumice Stone!
I loved this apron [it came just like this!]
It certainly brought my own sweet mama to mind!
Yes - that little love note does slide in and out! A pocket-full of love!
One of our favorite 'sick in bed' things to do as a kid was to string buttons...
try to get a kid to do that today!!!
These little PTI dies haven't seen the light of day in forever!
I triple-clear-embossed the 'thanks' and also the cherries!
LOve cherry pie ... and a red & pink combo!
Last card, but perhaps my favorite of all:
Just the tiniest bit of Copic coloring and bingo: cuteness overload!
If you've made it this far, thank you - it always makes my heart happy! But if you started here, now you must visit each and every one of my 12 Kits of Occasions friends!
Join us here at the 12 Kits blog, where you'll find a list of supplies Birgit sent us.
You will be amazed by the creations from the talented girls I hang out with! How lucky am I? xx

Oh Michele, where do I even begin? Each and every one of your cards is a masterpiece and a gift in itself. I love that some of them are interactive too, such a great idea! How thoughtful to include the extra tulips for a fellow creative friend to use. The coloring on both of the flower cards is stunning! I never thought to color flowers using grey tones. They look amazing! I especially love the water colored freesia. I can't thank you enough for being so kind and encouraging to me. You're a dear friend and I count myself so blessed to know you. <3
Good morning! Wow, each card is a work of Michele art! I love your sweet and thoughtful words for both Brigit and Lindsey!
Something so elegant about that woodgrain card and non color that I just love!!! Love them all!
Ohh my goodness Michele what an amazing collection of cards, maybe they should send you two and you can make a copy of each card for me tooooooo, ok. So many pretty ones and then ended with a little bit of humour, love em.
WOW...didn't want your post to end Michelle! Your cards are ALL fabulous!! I especially love the two cards you did with the shades of gray...never thought just that single color could be so elegant!! Totally in love with your CAS cherry card too...my grandfather was a cherry farmer (Old Mission Peninsula/Traverse City), so I'm a cherry lover at heart! Really loved your chick card too! You did a fantastic job with this kit...loved it all!! :0)
OK, just thinking what Marcia wrote, didn't want this post to end! SHHH, don't tell the others, but you always get the 'aaahhhhs' and 'ooohhhhs' with every assembled wonder! The freesia? GASP! So glad I didn't use that one yet. Gonna try casing that color combo of grays! Hugs!
These cards are so creative--I am "ooh-ing " at them and thinking,"I never would have thought of that!" Beautifully done!
Michele, this is one of my very most favorite sets of cards from you. Your red and white stunner, the interactive elements, your layered button beauty, the tulips!!! Just love them all. And as soon as I saw the chicks I thought of you. I knew you'd do something awesome with them and saved mine to CASE you! Oh, how I love seeing your creative mind at work!
ALL of these are so wonderful Michele, you inspire me GF!
You rocked Birgit's wonderful vintage kit, Michele - as always! I love the thoughtful touches and elegant edges you add to your great designs!! Hugs, Darnell
You always do an amazing job with your kit, but you have really outdone yourself this month, Michele! Every one of your cards are just beautiful! I can see how thoughtful you were with each design and how your design style is shining through...Bravo, my friend!!!
I always enjoy these posts, and all I can say this month, is WOW! I was in awe right at the top of the post.
My favorite time of month!! I LOVE all the cards you created with this kit!! I love the simple ways you colored the flowers in and the fun card you created with the apron. Fabulous, fabulous use of the kit!!
A bounty of beauty!! I love those cherry leaves tucked into the thanks and the way you've grouped the tulips. Now about that freesia card...SPECTACULAR!! The colors, the woodgrain, the scallop border ~ SWOON!
Goodness, Michele, what a bevy of beauties you've created for our crafty delectation this month!! My particular favourites? Those gorgeous vibrant tulips ... that delicate, subtle freesia ... the luscious, juicy looking cherries ... and the final little sweetie with that splendid silliness sentiment! You out-Michele'd yourself! Hugs, Anita :)
Everyone is a beauty, Michele! Love that you used the little chicks, so adorable! I thought of you when I first saw that set when it was introduced. The trims and die cutting on each card are amazing. You always add the perfect little touch and I'm always amazed at your use of grays and neutrals. Loved today's visit--so much inspiration!!
What a fantastic, pretty, fun, wonderful bunch of cards with the kit! Each is so beautifully and creatively crafted. The last one is way too cute (I love to giggle), but I truly love them all!
Wonderful cards Michele, I think the cherries dangling from the thanks is my favorite simple due to its whimsy.
Oh my goodness friend this is quite a line up!! I love each one especially the button card one. I never strung buttons as a "sick in bed" thing to do - ours was Paperdolls! : ) but what a wonderful treat for you to keep you occupied while you were on the mend.

So many incredible cards Miss Michele...love your take with Birgit's incredible kit. You took Birgit's kit and created pure Michele magic with it, just love each and every card you created.
Michele I love all the cards you made. I had so nay ahah moments and so glad I have lots leftover to CASE you!! Wasn't it such a lovely kit.
You were right, Michele. That Freesia is gorgeous and so is it's background. I love how you hung the cherries from the word die and stuck the tulips and sentiment loosely into their respective cards. I'm also in love with that sentiment on the second card. Over the top card making mf.
Sorry I'm late Michele! Just back from vacation and finally making the rounds! I gotta tell you I'm always expecting a big smile and something witty from you Michele! This time I'm struck by the background die cuts (I know it's the details that fascinate me all the time). I am smitten with the simple way you took the cardstock on the first one and put a border die cut on it and it looks so fussy and elegant! Or how about that stitching on the second one.. a simple detail but it takes it from a solid flat background to BAM! in your face so Elegant! And you did some little twist on the background on every single one! Ok.. yes I am impressed with the clever cherries hanging from the "thanks" too! LOL! Great post that made me want to look at them over and over again!
