CAS[E] this Sketch #179

Chrissy Larson has treated us with a beauty of a sketch this week ...

... while it reads totally feminine, I've created a card that will do for a guy, too - I think... my bird-loving guy will love it, I'm pretty sure.

For Tom, and CTS #179:

Concord & 9th Love you, mean it.  and a Wplus9 Happy Bird -
I LOve navy ink!

I look forward to seeing your feminine, or masculine, version of Chrissy's sketch in the gallery!!

12 Kits of Occasions - A birthday to Die [cut] for!

Joyce, of Cards by the Sea, is our fantastic hostess this month - is that not the cutest theme?  A Birthday to Die [cut] For!!  Joyce loaded that package with more fun stuff than a girl could ask for!  Plenty of dies, fantastic pattern papers - I am so wishing I'd had a little more time to play!  Here's a peek:

Here are my cards ... plenty of ideas still running around in my head!  But I'm a wee bit late to the party, so I'd better hurry!

I have adored this circular birthday greeting since the very first time Joyce used it ... SO happy to have one to play with!  In case you can't see it, I've created a cupcake, and this is the view from above ... with the little flame?  maybe?  =]

Next, I've taken this opportunity to use a new background stamp ... and added a few of Joyce's balloons to the mix.

Just when you think this one was WAY too easy ... think again!  There are two dozen little itsy bitsy pieces of foam holding that baby on here!  Let's not forget the selective choice of letters to remove, and a way to keep the others in!

LOve this cover plate!!

Just one more today - another attempt at humor:

What did one birthday cake say to the other?
"What's one more candle?
It's the years you should be worried about!!!"

Pa dum dum!  [is this thing on?!]

Joyce you've put together a terrific kit, and if I weren't knee deep in life right now,  you'd be sick of me about now!

Please run by the 12 Kits of Occasions blog post for all the incredible cards from my team-mates - they're amazing I'm telling you! - and a list of supplies we're lucky to play with!

Ellen Hutson's Mood Board + Share the LOve with Winnie and Walter!

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Ellen's Mood Board for the Share the LOve week with Winnie & Walter has been staring me in the face for too long - it's time I put ideas onto paper, peeps!

Using a few papers from my stash, the perfect die cuts from Essentials by Ellen's Be-You-tiful, another Take a Bow by Winnie & Walter, and one little dot of red to bring attention to those gorgeous red shoes -  I'm guessing you won't have trouble figuring out which of the photos inspired me  =]

Look closely and you'll find a few little baubles - one of the perks of ordering from W&W
The black/cream papers are from Canvas Home Basics,
MFT Peekaboo Wonky Windows from E.H. and Fuse Green cardstock

Mood after playing cards today ...

Freshly Made Sketches w/ ColourQ

My last card for the week comes in the prettiest colors a girl could ask for from ColourQchallenge #347:

I've used the wonderful sketch Narelle created for Freshly Made Sketches #242 as a fantastic guideline:

Now for my card!

Another little darling daisy from W&W, colored with copics, blinged up a bit with WoS and white dots using my new white Gelliroll pen!!  That cute little sentiment is from Neat and Tangled.

Have a fun and fantastic weekend, my friends!!

Share the Love Week!

share the love graphic Essentials by Ellen 2

Who in their right mind would pass up the chance to do a 'mash up' with Winnie & Walter, and Ellen Hutson??!!  Not this girl, I'll tell ya!  I'm gaga over both of these companies!

Week 1:  Floral!  [have I told you lately that Hydrangeas are a favorite?]  Julie's Mondo hydrangea, and one little leave + W&W's In Bloom: Addie's Garden = instant smiles [by way of The Big, the Bold, and Friends stamps & cutaways!]

Heat embossed, and colored with Distress Ink: shabby shutters, peeled paint, and dusty concord!

Day two:  Sentimental!!  It's all about the words!! [have mentioned that I first wanted to write sentiments for greeting card companies before I started making cards?]  NO doubt this mega In a Word: Hi was getting top billing ... with a side of chicken Francaise - from 12 Days by Julie, and 12 Days Companion Greetings by Julie!!

A little embossing - not real chicken wire, or nest material,  but close enough, right?

Day 3:  Background building - random stamping isn't as random as it sounds, but I was pleased with the result using this darling Daisy from In Bloom:  Addie's Garden, the perfect words from The Big, the Bold, and the Happy, and Christmas Scribbles by Julie [a careful little snip never hurt any stamp!] and TOTALLY fabulous word die by Julie!

That gorgeous yellow is Fresh Ink pigment ink - in memory of my first trip to Impress last year!
Altenew Crisp Ink - Evening Gray, and a snippet of gray cardstock.

I'm aware that we have reached Day 4, but you'll have to wait until my final Leading Lady post on Saturday to see my Transparent card!  Hope to see you then!

Thanks for spending a bit of your day with me today, too!  xx

CAS[E] this Sketch #178

N@t always gives us simply simple, absolutely incredible, sketches to work with ... see if you agree!

I've had this darling little popsicle stamp from Impress sitting on my shelf for nearly a year ... cannot imagine why it hasn't jumped out to me more often!  It was just what the [design] doctor ordered and also what we reach for when we're not feeling great ... my favorite flavor is grape!

How will this sweet little sketch move you?  You all seem to know what we love - can you imagine the tough decisions we must make from our fabulous gallery each week?

I'm off to see what the rest of the CTS gang has made - join me, won't you?

Altenew June Inspiration Challenge

As lovely as the inspiration photo for the June Altenew Inspiration Challenge is, I barely had my shipment opened before I was dreaming of how I'd use Way Too Sweet stamps and dies!

My card uses two of the Field Greens minis: Frayed Leaf, and Forest Glades, plus Warm Sunshine from Summer Afternoon.   With a little swipe, they provided the perfect drippy-ness for my little ice creams!

So do you see my inspiration?  The colors, the sparkle from that gorgeous wedding gown, even the little popsicle sticks are there ... okay... this is what I saw in my dream!

Thanks for stopping by today!

CAS[E] this Sketch #177

I'm dropping by today with this week's Sketch from Leigh Penner - sketch designer extraordinaire!

I've used a fun little set from Wplus9 called Happy Wishes to create a stamped and die-cut flourish of my own!

How will you create your own flourish?  Stamps, dies, ribbon perhaps?  Whichever you choose, we'll be thrilled to have your join us in the gallery this week, as always.

Also, as always, my teamies have created a fabulous group of gorgeousness for your inspiration ... I couldn't help myself, I had to peek!!!  Check them out for yourself here!

Freshly Made Sketches #241

Karren is the sketch artist for FMS241, and it is a darling.  I might have tried the partial die-cutting, my friend, but had a scrap on my desk that was calling for a little creative license on my part!

Here is Karren's sketch:

My playful take on it:

I'm sure you'll all recognize the little frappe cup from Julie Ebersole for Ellen Hutson, right?  The sentiment in the set that makes me giggle like Julie says "Oh frappe!"  and I love it.  But!  I had another set on my desk that begged to be used:  Hero Arts Hello Gorgeous is a set full of the funniest sentiments!  Well who doesn't need a Hero, with a side of Julie Ebersole, I'm asking you?!!

Okay.  There is one other little tiny detail that you may miss, if I don't point it out - it's that little scrap I mentioned.  Who doesn't have one of Ms. Laurie's gift bag dies?  With a little creativity, you can do SO many fun things with it!  enter my little frappe shadow!  Yep.  It's the little leftover!  Ta. Da!

Thanks for stopping in today!  CTS coming soon!

Winnie & Walter 'Take a Bow' and a 'Hand Stitched' sentiment from Neat n Tangled.

Tic Tac Toe #11

I couldn't resist using a little bloom sitting on my desk today ... she fit perfectly into the latest board from Tic Tac Toe's challenge #11!  I hardly believe you couldn't guess which row?  A hint: it's one of the diagonals =]

No more guessing necessary:

Winnie & Walter Addie's Garden and sentiment and heart-shaped ink splats from
Scalloped border panel:  Noelle Cutaways

My ink splatters take the form of dew drops today ... and I do wish they appeared more clearly!  I've had such an over-whelming amount of support this week from friends!  Thank you to all, especially my phone-chat friends!  xxx

Muse #169 - a farewell

Sadly, today I say farewell.  To say I've enjoyed my stint as your Muse is a total understatement ... I've loved every single week, post, comment, card, and OH the friends I've made along the way - we must all stay in touch!

For my final Muse, I CASE'd my first Muse card!  It was a silly little idea I had to accentuate the negative.  Just one of many  silly ideas I had for my weeks as your Muse.  I do hope you enjoyed those extra little challenges I sent your way.  Thank you for all your wonderful creations - as your Muse I was meant to inspire, I was certainly more inspired by you!

Today's card accentuates the positive - die cuts!  and could I ever miss the chance to use a last little slip of vellum?

Inside:
"... this isn't goodbye!  Every moment together, every memory created,  will be cherished forever!"

I will love seeing your cards in the Muse gallery
You'll join me, won't you?

Sending a pocketful of love and hugs to you all, and to my wonderful team-mates!  Thank you, Ardyth, for inviting me.

Surprise!! I am the June Winnie & Walter Leading Lady!

If I am dreaming, let me sleep!!  What a complete honor, and  huge surprise to be asked to represent Winnie & Walter this month!  I adore all things W&W and I'm sure Shay heard my shriek of excitement all the way to San Antonio!!!

As it is the season for planting, and I am taking a break this year from getting my hands dirty, I couldn't wait to do a little water-colored gardening for this first week!!

Head on over to the Winnie & Walter blog to see how I've created the perfect, heat-embossed 'canvases' with In Bloom: Anna's Flora ... here is a little tease:

There will be many supporting roles from many other Winnie & Walter products, I promise!

OH!  Before you go, I have to tell you that Shay has generously given me a bit of love from the W&W Shop to share with one on you:

Be sure to let me know you've visited today, and I hope to see you each Saturday for the month of June!  [One comment per post, please - shipping and handling not included] I just know you'd love to add some awesome new goodies to your Winnie & Walter stash!

Thanks for stopping in!

CAS[E] this Sketch #175

Hannelie has such a fun sketch for us today ... you will not believe her gorgeous card, by the way!!!

You know I never peek at my team-mates cards before I create my card ... which you'll soon know is a true statement when you see it!!  Thanks, Hannelie - SO much fun!

For CTS #175:

Remember that Washi tape I found recently?
Added a sweetly camouflaged W&W Big, Bold, and Friends cutaway,
and a few strategically placed enamel dots
Inside sentiment:
"Some days, smiles are hard to find ... seeing you always makes one appear!"

Another close-up - that KI Doilies paper smile is REALLY hiding!
Just look at that lovely slip of PTI Linen vellum - *swoon*

Each week YOU all give the CTS team so many reasons to smile ... thank you doesn't seem adequate - but truly - thank you!
