Concord & 9th Feature Friday!

As promised, I'm back, and having way too much fun with today's Featured Friday set from Concord & 9th's May release ... one might say it rocks!

I cannot wait another moment to show you a few ways to rock this set!
My first card is the most CAS of all ... first stamped, and heat embossed with Platinum, I added just one 'ring' of Stickles - we can't have a Geode without a ring of wonder!  I really wanted that sentiment die to shine - in more ways than one!
For card two, I first stamped the largest of the stamps with Versafine onto my gray cardstock... it was the 'heart' of the Geode that was bedazzled - this time with Sterling Glass Glitter ...
Now for the third card ... let's just say it might be my favorite!  As a child, I'd have given anything to own a Geode, and still ohhh, and ahhh, when I see one IRL!
I simply used the die to create a card front, and a card!
Here it is standing up ... it's a great size for a gift card!

It's now time for me to send you over to the Concord & 9th blog ... my two Featured Friday friends have so much to share!  Then off you go to the Concord & 9th shop, where you'll find all of the fantastic new May release products!
Thanks for the visit ... it always makes me smile!

CAS[E] this Sketch #272

Chrissy Larson, our fabulous leader, nearly always has me scratching my creative brain - often she starts with a card, and draws the Sketch from it ... I'm so anxious to know what she did this time - aren't you?

Here's where my scratching began:

And this is my interpretation of Chrissy's inspiration:

Who doesn't think blooms are as sweet as cupcakes?  And think of the calories we're saving for later!!

So, what will Chrissy inspire you to create?  We can't wait to see it in our CTS #272 gallery!

Altenew Adore you stamps and dies
Copics: Y13, Y15, and R22
MFT: Wonky stitched rectangles

Inspired By ... #20 floral clusters

These lovely planters have left me longing ... only one thing to do:  let them inspire a day of playing at Inspired By:  floral clusters, our 20th Challenge!

Here is where my playtime took me...

Paper Smooches provided the sweetest little die to cut my planter box from a wonderful wood veneer from a friend ... Adore You blooms, and sentiment, from Altenew, and just the right amount of greenery from Flora & Fauna.

Okay... how will you be Inspired By #20?  Looking forward to it!

How to say YAY in so many ways!

Today, I had a good long play time with the Essentials By Ellen May Release products, and a few favorites from past releases, too!

Julie Ebersole recently made this card on our EH YouTube channel, and it got my creative juices going... I'm sure you have had the same reaction to her brilliance, right?

My cards started with the word YAY from the Yay set of dies released in October of 2017... I cut it three times, then set about coloring them, as Julie did in her video, with her fabulous Plaid Builder set, and three Catherine Pooler dye inksShea Butter, Lime Rickey, and Fiesta Blue.

Are you ready?  ta DA!

A simple swath of water-down ink, and a scattering of confetti!
Heat embossed Plaid Builder onto vellum, with a
sprinkling of PPP sequins
I was never a cheerleader, but can you hear: give me a YAY!
The hint of balloons, and confetti - a few glossy accents, too!
Now, if you are familiar with the YAY set, you may be wondering what happened to the exclamation points?

kite-tails - that's where they went!
A simple embossing folder gave my balloon bottom from Yay some texture without disturbing that CAS look, and
Here are all of the inside sentiments I was able to create with Totally Random Sayings Vol. II
Mondo Sakura: sentiments only
Classic Block Alpha dies: all alpha cuts
and another awesome favorite
Abstract Paint Strokes: confetti, and paint strokes
I had such fun playing with these fabulous Essentials by Ellen … all products are available in the Ellen Hutson, LLC shop!*

Thanks @jaebersole for always inspiring a fabulous day of playing cards!  and hugs and thanks to all of you for stopping by today!

A Spellbinders Invitation to Play

Spellbinders has invited many of us to play with a few of their wonderful products ... could a girl say no?  not this girl!

Though, I must be honest, when I opened my package and found cogs & wheels?  I was nearly stumped... until I got my husband in on the fun!  The man is a genius!  Here's our collaboration card:

Okay.  So you may be thinking, meh... it's kinda cool... but where does the genius part come in?  You'll have to stop by  @mfergu01 on Instagram to find out!!!

Let's just say he is STILL the cog that turns my wheels ... happy anniversary, my darling husband!

Thanks, Spellbinders!

Concord & 9th Feature Friday

I'm so happy to be joining Concord & 9th for the next four weeks, as one of their Feature Friday gals ... you are going to be overjoyed with their release this month!

Everything old is new again these days, right?  From fashion to hair styles... even LP vinyl records!  I drove my 1992 Camry 220,000 miles, and the thing I miss about it most?  The CD player!  I asked the young man who bought it if he'd like to choose a few CDs as my gift-with-purchase - he asked "what's a CD?"  ugh.

Enter the new C&9th Mixed Tape set... fun, retro, and like totally fantastic!

Of course there is a fun set of  coordinating dies,
to create your own CDs!

I had a blast with these sets... ready to see?

A bit of stamping on acetate with Stazon ink did the trick for my CD case.   Here's a close-up of the wonderful embossed detailing of the die:
These label-tape-style sentiments are fantastic, aren't they?  One could easily snip them apart to rearrange the words!

I even managed to use those musical notes, and fun phrase die as the star of the show!  On a diagonal:

Even easier - straight up - they certainly do rock!

So happy you stopped by today!  Thanks so much, Angie, for inviting me to play cards with your fabulous May release!
Don't forget, I'm only one of the Featured Friday gals... see who else is being featured at the Concord & 9th blog here!  and I'll be back next Friday!

Pretty EBE boxes!

If you follow me on Instagram, you will have seen all the little boxes I've made using the Parcel Box die from the new Essentials by Ellen release!  For those of you who aren't on IG,  I thought I'd share them here today!

First things first ... let me share the Parcel Box die!

You can see there are several sweet little element dies that provide options to close the Parcels: slots - for all of those gorgeous ribbons Ellen sends free with your order!

These darling buttons for string enclosures, and a perfect little place to tie on the sweet little tag from the set:

I found another use for those little slots... how about a belt?  Okay, it's just a strip of kraft paper made to look like a belt, with a few dots of Nuvo as an accent, that I carried over to the card!

Now if you really use your imagination, you might find other ways, of corset ...

here's how I made it - it was a cinch! lol

After cutting the Parcel box, and before it was folded, I used a little dotted die from an MFT blueprints 18 set:

You can see that I've added a little bit of black cardstock behind one of the flaps, which only draws attention to the holes.
A few stitches with a double strand of black quilting thread, and it's closed!
You may have noticed a bit of gingham, and fun alpha accents on my cards ... these are a few more of the wonderful products available now in the Ellen Hutson, LLC shop!
Thanks for spending a bit of your Weekend Eve with me!  Hope all of you Moms enjoy your special day on Sunday... xx

CAS[E] this Sketch #271

We have another Sketch from my friend Donna Mikasa this week!  You know, as well as I, that she'll have something wonderful for us in card-form ... here's her Sketch:

I'm doing a little Spring-cleaning in my craft-room, and found a few cute snippets to use today... to do so, I had to turn the Sketch around - Donna won't mind.   A very sweet friend sent me this delightful Bitty Big paper from PTI, and I've combined it with that sweet little snippet...

My friend Julie convinced me that I couldn't live without a Dymo labeler - I think she knows me well - oh happy, indeed!

Hope you join us in the CTS #271 gallery!

EBE May release

I'm so tickled to be playing cards with the newest Essentials by Ellen - and to join two of my fabulous teamies in The Classroom today!

I had a full day of playing with Julie's Plaid Builder, and Parcel Box ... with Mother's Day coming up, I knew I'd have fun putting both to use!

My MIL has a collection of place mats that rival the inventory at Crate n Barrel!  With my love of table linens, you can see how we make a good pair!

I quickly put together my favorite plaid, stamped in Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide, and brown Memento inks.  I then used the gingham rectangle from the set, also stamped in Worn Lipstick Oxide, and cut MOM with the new Classic Block Alphas:

My MIL makes the most wonderful Coconut Cream Pie!!  YUM!  Baker Lady to the rescue for my outside sentiment, and inside feature!  Thanks Muchly is my fave from Totally Random Sayings, Vol. I  [The little chocolate brown heart was in my snippets dish =]

For all those pies she's made me over the last 25 years, I never forget to show my appreciation. I used Neenah Dessert Storm, and the little slot die that comes in the Parcel Box set, before folding it.  The slots are perfect for all those wonderful ribbons that come with every order from Ellen Hutson, LLC.

Thanks for spending a bit of your precious time with me today ... if you didn't come here from The Classroom, please do head over there now to see those fantastic projects from Ardyth, and Elena!

The products I used, and more fun new products, are available now in the Ellen Hutson, LLC shop!  Happy shopping!

CAS[E] this Sketch #270 Retro: 167

Our Retro Sketch has quickly become a favorite in the month ... everything old is new again these days!  From hairstyles to fashion... why not a remake of a card?

Here is my original card from April 2016:

And the Sketch:
Today, I lifted those design elements up, and used this wonderful Lil' Inkers die - a wonderful gift from a wonderful friend - and another die cut word!
Before anyone tells me I have my colors out of
rainbow-order, there is a reason for it!
The Sparkle shows much better on the orange!
Maybe you need a close-up for the Sparkle?
I've had such fun reimagining this Sketch ... do you have your original?  We'd love to see it, and your remakes in the CTS gallery this week!
