The Flower Challenge #5
There is a fabulous card-maker that I follow like she's a rock star - well, in my eyes she is - and we're invited to CASE her for Challenge #5 at The Flower Challenge!
A phenomenal card it is, too, from Therese Calvird of Lost in Paper:
I've taken the cue to create an open, die-cut flower, and my colors are pinks to peach, but in place of a smooshed water color, I've used a gorgeous patterned paper ... well, take a peek, you'll see the similarities, and a few differences, too!
Using a technique where one die cuts in increments, I've been able to create a floral design much like the beauty that Therese used, but using four individual dies! It's important to start with the main image, and work your way to the others that will end up in the background a bit ... easier than it seems, believe me! Think about it as you would a masking technique, only you remove the main cut as you go on to the next!
The Flower Challenge has invited a wonderful friend of mine, TaeEun of Rainbow in November, to join their design team - a brilliant move, if you ask me! Congratulations, TaeEun!!!Her card is another swoon-worthy take on Therese's card.
Thanks, Therese, TaeEun, and the entire team for inspiring me to 'play cards' on Sunday, too! You'll notice I'm getting in early... no more missed deadlines for this girl ... but don't hold me to it?!

Ahh you nailed it mf.. Wonderful card, love how you welded the four dies to one and the background paper. The soft colours. Brilliant.
this is so pretty! I love how the printed paper peeks through the die cuts. Simply stunning!!
Your CASE of Therese's lovely card is stunning, Michele!
I'm blushing.... can you see it from there? Thanks so much for your kind words and for sharing your beautiful design, totally love how you have funked it up with the gorgeous design paper!
Wow, I am loving Therese's card and I am loving your CASed card! Both are equally amazing in my eyes! Although I'm a little confused on how you both inlaid your die cuts but still had a peek-a-boo window. What is holding the die cuts in the window?? Amazing and loving!!!! Hugs, Brenda
Love your take on the card Michele! I've done this kind of die cutting...so fun! Trying to remember what I called it! I'm going to have to go look! lol
That inspiration card is stunning, Michele, I can see why you follow this talented cardmaker and I just started following her, too, based on your comments. :) Do you know I think YOU are a rockstar cardmaker too? Your take on the card is just as gorgeous in my eyes. :) Once I catch up on life around here, I fully plan on watching the video to see how you actually used those dies to create the look. Amazing!
You had just the right dies to CASE Therese, Michele. Your card is every bit as gorgeous.
Gorgeous and so delicate! Love the paper behind the blooms and the sweet pearl accents!
This is a stunning CASE, Michele! Congratulations on the well-deserved HM at TFC!! Hugs, Darnell
