Freshly Made Sketches #665

Kim over at Freshly Made Sketches offers what might be pretty straight-forward to everyone - but me!  Lucky for me, I had out on my desk one of my favorite older sets as my friend LeAnne reminded me that it had not been used this year!

First things first... here is Kim's Sketch #665:

And here is how those little friends lead me down their forest path...

These darling 'birch tree' straws were purchased at TJMaxx MANY years ago
and we quickly put them to work in our Paper Christmas Village...
my 'snowy' background is that newest embossing folder:
Bark - by Simon Hurley from Spellbinders.

Of course, there were many more where those came from...

I even managed to make a new little woodpile for the village from the 'leftovers!'

Which reminds me we need to get that Village out this weekend!  Until then, I better get this 'hand-deliver-only' card into the FMS gallery!

Your birch trees and bark are a perfect backdrop for these lovely deer, Michele! And the woodpile will be a wonderful accent for your Christmas village!

I'd forgotten all about those birch tree straws and how creative they've become in your hands Michele! I think you translated from the sketch perfectly with the trees, and they look fabulous against that awesome embossed background! And of course the sweet deer...so glad to see they came out to play again too!! Wonderful card my friend!! Hugs. :0)

Those are the coolest straws ever! They're perfect for your village and they look amazing on your card with this set which I've looked at many times. I got on a deer binge and will start sharing tomorrow. Now is when I feel like making Christmas cards, but the rush is on.

Your amazing design skills and those awesome "finds" put this card into the FANTASTIC category! You are truly amazing, Friend, as this is a wonderful card. However I can't believe that Village isn't up yet, I distinctly remember it in March!
