Playing Cards with Chriss, and Anita in France

OH, do I wish that we were actually in France!!!

Today I am playing cards with Chriss Blagrave of Botanical Gardens.  We are honoring a dear friend of ours who is celebrating her birthday today: Anita in France, a.k.a. My Papercraft World - delightful, darling, generous, funny, pun-y, creative, and loved by me,  Chriss, and many hundreds of card-makers around the globe!

Chriss and I have decided to play along  together at CASEplorations  with the Stamplorations girls, as they are CASEing one of Anita's cards ... just look at this gorgeous specimen:

My world has been a little upside down lately, but I am so happy that I was able to make my card ahead. I've given it to my husband for Valentine's Day - I know Anita will love that, especially since her own birthday card should be in her hands! [she says with a hopeful heart!]

SSS Hello Beautiful stamp set; MFT Romantic Script BG stamp, and Wonky stitched rectangles;
Ellen Hutson's gorgeous linen cardstock - it IS for Anita =]

I've been inspired by Anita's
  • die-cut panel
  • gold embossed script
  • adding Anita's colors of pink and yellow, allowing them to bleed together to make orange, and
  • of course hearts!
I will share a bit of my inside sentiment - truly a very old verse that I cannot claim as my own - it sounds so beautiful in French ... perhaps Anita will share it with us:

I love you more today, than yesterday...
but half as much as tomorrow!

Joyeaux anniversaire, Anita, ma belle amie!   Good luck, good health, [and a very big lottery win so the three of us can play cards together for real] are my wishes for you this year and always!!!  xoxo

=]  Michele

Oh, Michele, my sweet friend ... playing cards with you and Chriss for my birthday ... what a wonderful gift ... thank you! I wish you were here en France too ... roll on that lottery win (on either side of the pond!). I do love that you used my CASE card as inspiration for your stunning valentine for Tom ... it's simply wonderful ... I love it ... and am certain he does too! Thank you so much for your lovely birthday wishes and your beautiful card ... just had the joy of opening it and now it's proudly displayed on the mantle! Thanks too for playing along with my CASE card at CASEplorations ... I'm sooo delighted you did! Hugs & bisous, Anita :)

Oops, almost forgot the translation of your lovely message for Tom ... je t'aime plus aujourd'hui q'hier, mais deux fois moins que je t'aimerai demain! It's not literal but the sentiment is the same! Big hugs, ma chère amie! Anita :)

What a lovely post. Can I come too if you win the lottery, pretty please?!? And your card is an amazingly crisp and clean CASE of Anita's. Well done. And thanks so much for joining us at CASEplorations this month!

You can't go to France without me although it might be cheaper to bring Anita to us. ;) I love your take on her card but it's still so 'you', Michele.

Oh..I hope your topsy-turvy world has righted itself by now! Love that you translated Anita's card for your darling Tom, who I know was completely smitten with it (and you!). The trio of hearts has captured mine. When I win a lottery, I'm heading your way and we'll jaunt off to visit Anita...and bring some of our special friends along with us, too!
