When I saw Kim's Freshly Made Sketch #698 I immediately thought of postage stamps and spent an entire afternoon cutting, piecing, and loved them all! But the sizes and shapes of my postage dies caused a bit of trouble... let me share the Sketch:
By the end of my crafty time, I thought: why do they have to be stamps or boxes? In fact, what might Kim have in mind? You won't believe what I ended up with!
Three lovely leaves from a very old Lawn Fawn set that were cut from colored
card and 'antiqued' a little. Of course, I had a gazillion stamps cut so one
seemed the right choice for my sentiment from The Stamp Market's Fun & Flowery set.
My cover panel is a piece of HoneyBee's Holiday Wishes pad, and was debossed
using TSM's Pierced Plaid - what would Fall be without a little plaid?
Are you curious about those postage stamps? Here's my Christmas
version of Kim's Sketch!
ALL the bits and pieces on my stamps were die-cut or fussy-cut from
Scrapbook.com's Winter pattern paper! This is a 5x7" card cut from Wplus9's postage set
debossed with one of C&9th's Kristina's Finishing Touches dies.
Oh, there are at least four iterations of this one! But, for now, I hope I've given you an idea or two for your own cards using Kim's Sketch!
I can't wait another second to see Kim's card... let's GO!

Ooooo, I love the depth you created here. That background is just perfect for these stunning leaves! The Christmas card is so cute, too!
WOW! Your leaves fit perfectly on the debossed background! What a great way to use this sketch and wish a happy fall! I may need to CASE this one, my friend! Did the monarchs bloom?
I love when the sketch isnt taken literally. The leaves are perfect. I have that set and its a forever keeper. I too love the second card.
Super duper cute! I love those leaves, I"ll never part with mine, and they look divine on that background. Cute sentiment too. And I just received my Winter paper....haven't even opened the package yet but this is making me glad I got some!
Yes! to both versions! My two favorite icons--leaves and postage stamps. Love 'em both!
I LOVE the sketch and your creativity with it! Both cards are rich with warmth and comfort, and you know how I am about patterned paper, so that's a joy to see as well. It doesn't matter what challenge is put before you, you always turn out something amazing!
Love the use of my favorite LF leaves, Michele, and the debossed patterned paper kept the fall theme going. I can't imagine fussy cutting all those little images but they sure look good all together on your card.
I always LOVE seeing where these sketches take you Michele, and the leaves are perfection along with that pierced plaid background that grounds it all! And the Christmas stamp version is wonderful too! I've got some ideas running around in my head for this one, but they all use the sketch quite literally! Someday when I grow up I'll start thinking more out of the box. Maybe... Hugs. :0)
So very pretty! Love what you came up with. Your cardmaking skills keep me in awe.
I actually didn't have anything overly creative in mind when I did the sketch - it was to force myself to use postage stencils!! So your creativity with those gorgeous leaves on that beautiful background far outshown mine!!
Oy! Inside the box or outside the box for ideas is your BEST place! These are both fantastic, with the rectangles or the leaves -- bravo, Girlfriend
Loving both version, but those leaves take first prize!
Oh so perfectly fall and oh so perfectly Christmas! Who knew brown was a holiday color?~?~You did - love it!
Two fabulous cards, Michele! I love the artsy simplicity of the one with the fall leaves, so beautiful.
Way to think outside the (literal) boxes! These leaves are gorgeous and your Christmas postage has such a lovely vintage feel.
It's wonderful to see Autumn sneaking into posts. love those leaves In your first FMS card. Love the colors you used in the second> Loving all the postage dies...
Love these very different takes on the one sketch, you are a Superstar at sketches my friend... I am more of a colour combo girl myself lol.
