I had another fun day spent with Marcia! This time I got to host - she requested a fish lunch, and I was happy to fry up a batch for her - as long as she brought her fabulous coleslaw! Tom even came home eat lunch with us! I also treated her to her very first bite of Sticky Toffee Pudding - I fell in love with it when I visited the UK ten years ago and finally aced a recipe that lived up to my memory!
But you came for the cards, and I'm happy to oblige:
I had a NBUS Pinkfresh Magnolias set in my 'save for playtime' stash.
The stamp, die, and stencils came together for some mindless craft-while-we-chatted
time before I had to head to the kitchen. I'm sure there is no such thing as
this color combo for Magnolias - but in craft land we can do anything we want!
I just knew Marcia would want to press a few of these Alex Syberia Charming Floral panels -
I wanted to use it again, too. Remember I had only used it as an embossing plate
the first go-round. Don't you love that pale Gina K Minty green Marcia shared?
Peaches and sage greens were a very pretty match for it!
I got really brave and tried a 'kraft' ink for this next one -
below are the inks I used for stenciling this panel.

I 'pinked' a vellum bellyband as a home for this bold die-cut word from
Concord & 9th's Friendly Florals
Marcia brought her newest Penny Black set for me to play with.
No way could I not share the card I made... if you think it looks familiar
Marcia made a card last week that was almost just like it - unplanned!!
I planted a few of the tiny tulips from the PB Tulips in Bloom set that
were water colored with Distress reinkers. My 'tablecloth' is from the same set.

What a fun play date you must have had to create these beauties! Better than looking out my own window, where most of my spring blooms have wilted! Sticky Toffee Pudding....mmmmm! My sister and I shared one in Scotland and I still remember that yumminess!
I come for the food and the cards and of course for your wonderful sense of humour. Play dates with Marcia look like they are very productive I think you should do a You Tube video of your playdates and then we can all join in the fun. What a bevy of beautiful cards your watercoloring is just dreamy and your placement is always superb. thank you for the inspiration

This, my friend, is one gorgeous line up of cards! You girls always pick the best toys for your playdates. Your first card has stolen my heart, what a beauty! I might just need that sticky toffee pudding recipe! We had it in Vegas at Gordon Ramsay's (Joey's favorite chef!) Hell's Kitchen...YUM!!!
Well I was right...you sure blew me away with all 4 of your beauties Michele! Your Magnolia's are both so pretty, and even though there might not be any real Magnolia's in your first color combination, there should be as it's absolutely GORGEOUS! I love, LOVE the version with the mint green press plate background too...mint to be combination!! (sorry...couldn't resist!!) Your card on the kraft turned out so pretty and glad you didn't add much more than the vellum strip and sentiment to it so the beauty of the stenciled background was the star!!! And too funny about your last card my friend...we think alike even when we're not together! I love your coloring on the pitcher and the tulips are the perfect add if I do say so myself! Your magnolias are gorgeous in any color and are only enhanced by the fabulous background you gave them, Michele. That press plate looks wonderful on its own too. I've been intrigued by Marcia's pitchers and yours is equally beautiful with those simple tulips in it.

Gorgeous magnolias in either of the colors, Michele! So pretty on the embossed doily and especially with the soft pressing with mint! I always love pink and kraft together and your vellum belly band is the perfect way to add a sentiment! I love your coloring on the watering can with the sweet tulips and sentiment stake and tag! I KNOW you had a fun day with Marcia and I always enjoy seeing what you've worked on together.
Seeing all this blooming beauty makes me want to get home and into my crafty space.... it won't be long... this holiday is going very quickly lol. Thanks for the inspiration!

I love hearing about your playdates! I savor every minute 'cause I know how fun it is. What gorgeous cards today and, yes, the magnolias in craft land can be any color... these are fabulous! And the backgrounds! Doily on the first, a most lovely Betterpress on the second, sigh. The colors you chose for your kraft card show up beautifully and altogether it's such a soft, yet colorful look. Of course, you cannot pass up the Penny Black tulips in pitcher. Beautifully colored and designed. What a treat to visit here today, Michele!
What a fabulous collection of cards. I love them all and who cares if magnolias come in those colours or not, they look great. You have got me craving a sticky toffee pudding now. I haven't had one for a long time. It seems to have gone out of fashion in restaurants recently. Either that or I haven't been to the right ones xx
