My sweet friend Lisa is the host at Just us Girls this week and I had just enough time between loads today [hey even I took yesterday off] to create a stenciled card for her!
I have two notebooks with all of my stencils but when I really want to use them, I do a little search of my own blog to see which ones really made me happy and give me some idea how I might use them again the same way or a different way! THIS card really made me smile so I went about using the same technique with a different set!
First, I stenciled a diagonal gingham of Distress Oxide Scattered Straw to bring a little sunshine to the card...
Then I brought out a pretty layered Rose stencil from Waffle Flower
going right over the top of that gingham:
From there it was just determining how I wanted to use it on my finished card - MFT's Wonky Stitching to the rescue along with a sweet sentiment from Concord & 9th's Spring Print set. It just so happens that I was in need of a thank you card!
Thanks, Lisa, for the Shoutout!
If you don't subscribe to Waffle Flower Crafts newsletter, you should. They have FLASH SALEs quite often where one can pick up some darned good deals. Take this little Embroidery Hoop set that has been on my radar for eons! Turns out one of their little stenciled roses works perfect for a little faux stitchery - they even had a little die to create the embroidery cloth, too! I'm happy to share it with Stencil Fun Challenge for May 2025.

That darling yellow gingham and those pretty little roses were a match made in heaven! This is just as pretty as it can be, Michele. So happy to have you sharing it with us at JUGs! Card number 2 is just as sweet as it can be. I love every single element!
I am loving that yellow gingham background and the stenciled roses look so pretty on it, Michele! That little rose fits perfectly in the hoop! Love the perforated background with the pretty frame too! I'm glad you could fit some fun among the wash loads!
Both of these are so pretty Michele! I love your scattered straw gingham background...that pop of sunshine behind the beautiful roses is wonderful! Your 2nd card is just as pretty and I love how perfectly that rose fits into the embroidery hoop! Sweet, sweet cards my friend! Hugs. :0)
Awesome layering use of those stencils! Well done- thanks for sharing at JUGS
Agreed! Your first card makes me happy too, as the layered stenciling is not the norm layered stenciling yet adds SO much fun! Your second card is also pretty amazing, cross-stitching is a fave pastime of mine as well
Both cards are so pretty, Michele! I adore the stenciled roses over the stenciled gingham. Such a beautiful look!
Oh goodness, I love your gingham rosey card! That Scattered Straw is a perfect yellow for that. I love that flash sale from Waffle Flower. I just finally got the seagull die!! Beautiful card with the stitchy goodness!
so pretty, like your stenciled flower in the hoop!
I love the gingham background to your layered stencils. I would never have been brave enough to do that, but it looks fabulous. I think I should try it sometime. your faux stitched card is cute too xx
Sweet sweet cards! And I search my own blog as well to remind me what may be hiding in my stash!
I love how you layered two fairly busy stencils and the meshed perfectly together!!! What a pretty and colorful card! And the faux cross stitched one is just as creative! Just so happy you joined us with these this week at JUGS!
So creative to stencil on GINGHAM! I love the homespun feel! And the faux cross stitched piece is so sweet!
Another gorgeous card Michelle and so cleverly stencilled. Beautiful work.

Fabulous cards Michele. Love the double stencil layers and your needle point is so cool.
Oooh, you made the prettiest roses-on-gingham background for your first card! Too pretty to cover up, so just the sentiment is ideal. Your embroidery hoop card is the sweetest thing! The rose is a perfect fit and I especially love the embroidery cloth background!
Those roses look lovely on the gingham and remind me of some fabric of long ago, Michele. Thanks for sharing your card with us at Just Us Girls. The little rose in the hoop is also a vintage look and delightful.
Stenciling on stenciling Wow I love it ! What a creative mind you have and both stencils work so beautifully together. The second card is so beautifully cas and that one rose looks respendant inside that gorgeous hoop.

Such clever way to stretch your stencils and such beautiful cards to inspire!!
I love the gingham background for your beautiful stencilled roses Michele! Such a wonderful card! Love it!! :)
Both your stenciled cards are so sweet, Michele. Love the first one with the stenciled gingham in the background ... eveyone LOVES gingham!! And the cross stitch die looks fantastic with the sweet little rose. Adorable! xx
I love the way the stenciled roses look atop that wonderful gingham stamping. The sentiment is perfectly chosen and placed. Love the embroidery hoop on the aida panel too. I am laughing a little about the birthday comment...
