I was so honored to have a win recently at Color Hues! Even more so to be invited to Guest Design with their fabulous team! Here's their #106th color combo - could it be more Spring-y?
So many of the first blooms of Spring are yellow with green leaves, aren't they? What better way to represent those colors. These would be welcomed to my garden any day...
I don't know how, but this lovely set was found when I did that de-stash = unused!
I guess I'll just have to share them with Darnell's NBUS, too! wink.
Looks like Jill's water coloring methods work well with any line art!
I have been practicing a LOT and really loving the Distress reinkers - but
this time it was back to smooshing some Mustard Seed onto my palette for the tulips and then mixing that with a bit of Peeled Paint to 'lime it up a bit!'
A very wet mixture of the leftover inks was added to the background.
I used the coordinating die to partially cut it then added a bit of lift with foam squares and interest with the largest of MFT's Wonky Rectangles.
A trio of gems from PFS and a sentiment from the Mondo Tulips set
and my card is done!
Okay, my friends, now it's YOUR turn... and I'm wondering if you'll go the floral route or maybe lemons and limes? You'll find tons of inspired designs from the CH team and have plenty of time to play along - a few times!
Thanks for having me, Color Hues!

I don't know how these beautiful tulips managed to escape your attention, Michele! You certainly brought them to life! We do think alike in so many ways, dear friend. Congratulations on your win and thank you for inspiring us at Color Hues!
Beautiful post
Wow! This is beautiful, Michele, and your practice shows with this amazing card! Love the background smooshing too. Congrats on the GD spot
Congrats on your Guesting, Michele! Glad you decided to keep this set. You've made it gorgeous. I agree yellow flowers seem to be some of the first bursts of spring. It's like nature wakes up doing a happy dance. Hugs my friend.
So soft and so beautiful!
Congrats on your win and guest spot on Color Hues. Your card is absolutely lovely with those yellow tulips. It sure looks like spring with those tulips and the pretty yellow.
Michele... yes... white space can be another solid color... do you really define CAS differently. Let me know. (and your tulips are lovely!)
Always happy to see those tulips. love thew monotone look of these. Congrats on your GD spot too xx
It is always such a pleasure having you in the gallery and even extra special to have you guesting with us. Each and every card of yours is so inspiring and your Tulips look amazing. I hope Spring treats you well when it arrives. Thanks for being with us.
I'm surprised those tulips have been hiding in your craft room, Michele. So glad you found them and brought them to life with your watercoloring. No tulips here but the daffodils are in bloom. Maybe that's what my card should be.
Love the yellow and green, you've made these tulips look so realistic! I would welcome them in my garden for sure! Love the background and those little sparkles too!
It had to be a mistake, you wouldn't de-stash tulips! This is a lovely us of those spring colors, Michele. Congrats on guesting!
What a great find Michele, and your water colored tulips are absolutely GORGEOUS!! And since yellow is one of my most favorite colors, they're even prettier!! So glad you're playing along with us as GD and inspiring our players to use lemon & lime...thank you, thank you!! Hugs. :0)
Oh, these beautiful yellow tulips! I'm stunned to hear they were tucked away and forgotten considering how you love tulips, but what a nice surprise to come upon them and have a brand new set to play with! Your card is so lovely, Michele! Congrats on your guest spot, too!
Congratulations, Michele! What a beautiful card!
What a wonderful find! I love your smooshy watercoloring and the way the green adds to the depth of those lovely tulips. Just beautiful!
How fab that you found this set in your declutter session Michele, it works perfectly with my colours. Tulips are the last of the spring bulbs to show their heads here but the little daffs are shining out on this cold grey day. The weatherman says it will be getting warmer but wetter later in the week, could do without the wet bit to be honest!! Thanks for making my colours shine at Color Hues. :)
What a beautiful card! Your coloring is super.
Congratulations on your well-deserved win and Guest Designer gig, M! You've created a wonderful wash of lemon and lime to display your springtime mondo tulips! I love the smooching and the wonky frame! So glad you found the set and thank you for inspiring everyone to use their NBUS! Hugs, D
Your softly colored tulips are gorgeous! Hard to believe they've been hiding in your stash, but you found them at just the right time! Perfect for our color challenge, and for the spring ahead!
Your creations are always spectacular and we are always in for a treat when you guest for us. This is just lovely Michele. As you can see, I didn't go floral or fruit. hahaha. I like being a rebel sometimes.
Congrats on your guest design spot! You're a clear choice for any challenge, especially with this beautiful card. Hard to imagine you forgetting you had these lovely tulips. At any rate, I'm so glad you found them and put them to use. Such a pretty bouquet in any color, but especially lemon and green.
Michelle what a great card, and what an awesome set to find unused! I often wonder what I might find if I took everything out of my craft room! Beautiful watercolouring and like the two distress shades that you used!! So lovely!
Michele, your water coloring looks stunning! The shading of the soft yellow tulips is a beautiful achievement (from one that struggles mightily with the medium) because yellow is tricky. The smooshed background couldn't be more perfect either. It's so wonderful to have you as guest designer for Julie's challenge - thank you!
Congrats on your CH win and I LOVE that EH tulip set! Glad you could give it some love with your awesome water coloring. Jill would be so proud :)
This is gorgeous! I love the way you did the soft background!
You are a wonderful guest and so thoughtful of you to bring gorgeous yellow tulips!
I'm seeing a LOT of beautiful tulips and bunnies here at the moment... I have the feeling of a beautiful spring coming your way!
